Have been here twice and its good. The all you can eat ribs about killed me but what a way to go.

A group of friends decided to have a friend's birthday dinner here. We initially called and reserved a table for 18. When we arrived, it was set up for 10. Three of the guest had to sit in a booth, near our table. We ordered our food, I got the petite sirloin and my son got a hamburger with egg on it. My sirloin was tough, guess medium well means well done. There wasn't a hint of pink. The best part of the meal, the fries. My son's hamburger, was medium, which he was okay with but the egg was not fried completely. It looked like they just cracked it, fried for a couple seconds and then put on his plate. We weren't the only member of our party who had trouble with their orders. Someone had a chard steak. You could not tell it was even a steak it was grilled so badly. Then another person ordered the Morning Glory, the egg, didn't run, it was more like a failed fried egg where the yolk is broke and you kept frying it. The server was okay, yes given we were a bigger party. It took her a while to get us refills, utensils, or extra napkins. We asked for a to go cup and she just gave us a refill, rolled our eyes and paid for our meal. I don't think we will be coming back to Smokey Bones anytime in the near future, if ever. read more

Okay I like this place.. but it's kind of hit-or-miss. The corn bread is excellent the brisket is excellent but they always run out of it:( I've got the baby back ribs once and they were great I got him a second time they are dried out. Service is hit-or-miss too. read more

We decided to try the all u can eat tacos on Wednesday night starting at 9pm! I received an email and it sounded good. we all usually drink water, I ordered water before I read on the menu that u must buy a beverage to get the 11.99 price, so basically it's $15.00 for all u can eat tacos, no big deal, bring us all some sweet tea too! The waiter sighs like he has to go harvest the tea leaves himself dry them in the oven then brew the tea special for us! Oh let me go back a smidge there were like 10 people in the whole restaurant including staff. Ok so twenty mins later our tacos come out they were pretty good, almost worth the huge tude that the waiter gave us, but not quite. So before we finished I tried to order another order since I know it's going to be a huge inconvenience to mr. personality, and in the interest of moving this thing along as we have to work tomorrow. 25 min later we get 2 tacos each and he try's to explain to us that he's only suppose to give us one at a time lol so he did us a grand favor! All in all it took an hour and a half for dinner; don't be sucked in unless you have a few hours to wait for dinner and much patience for incompetent staff. Oh and the two stars were only because the food was pretty good and we normally like smoky bones. The service was a zero! read more

Just called Smokey Bones to ask a question about their BBQ sauce. Our daughter has food allergies, but we can usually make most places work. They do have an online allergen list, but it does not list corn. I asked the guy on the phone if he knew if their BBQ sauce had corn syrup as one of the ingredients. He informed me that the only thing he knew was that they are gluten free. Still fine at this point, I don't expect non kitchen staff to know these questions. So, I asked if there was someone in the kitchen he could ask that would know. He then told me that they were too busy and they didn't have time to look at the ingredients. Unfortunately, this place won't be on our list of places for dinner and I will ensure that my company doesn't bother dealing with them for our weekly catering. read more

Still my go to for BBQ! Usually I tend to get the brisket. However, for some reason this time, I decided to try the ribs. OMG was I not disappointed! They were fall off the bone tender. You can get them from salty to spicy to sweet with all the types of rubs/sauces available. My husband tried the wings. It got a messy 2 thumbs up. Even our little guy dove into the ribs. Even though we had a new server who was in training, she was pleasant and quick enough. A little rough around the edges, but with a little practice she will get it. read more

Can't wait to come back to this Gem! Staff was amazing! The food was great as well! They also have a Pokemon gym in their parking lot! My kids couldn't get enough of it!!! The prices are reasonable for what you get as well! Try that Cuban!!!! Baby back ribs with the sweet sauce is amazing too!!! My husband had to share it with me!!! After trying 2 other places and didn't feel like waiting for an hour at either place for a seat we got seated right away at smokey bones. The waiter took forever and the food was all right. read more

The food was pretty good. Had the smoked pork platter. It was a little dry. The biggest issue I had was waiting almost 15 minutes for the server to take our drink order. We ordered beers and water. Had to remind the server two more times after he brought the beer to bring the water. Food was out fast and was hot. read more

The food was very good! The margaritas were yummy! I would give this place a 5 but they had issues with my gift card. It was worked out but the first time they said it didn't have anything on it. Wow, where do I start. We have wanted brisket and ribs for a while now. Only to be dissatisfied in so many ways. That is not the case with smokey bones. Good lord the brisket was the best I have EVER eaten. Then their mopping bbq sauce with a vinegar taste. I felt like I was back in West Virginia. I have searched for years to find a bbq sauce like that. Just when I thought I could not eat anymore. I tried one of my husbands ribs. We were like two lions eating this feast. The staff put the icing on the cake. Ms.Ally came over and asked how was it with a smile. I started rolling embarrassed because we ate everthing like we just licked the plates clean. I replied asking if they had a wheel barrel to help get me to my car. She told me Torres could help. Such a great spunky and funny crew. I asked who was the GM. Usually, my fiancé and I have a great experience here when we come in for the occasional lunch date. Last night, we chose to come here for our very rare kid-free date night. To our (unpleasant) surprise, it was a horrible experience from beginning to end. We were told there was a 45 minute wait at the host stand, which seemed outrageous because it wasn't very busy, but we decided to wait. So, we were given our buzzer to let us know when it was our turn to be seated. About an hour went by and our buzzer never went off, so I went back to see how many groups were ahead of us. Come to find out, we were skipped over and erased from the wait list. Seeing his mistake, the host had us seated right away. About 20 minutes went by and we were not even acknowledged at our table, as we seen 4 other tables get seated, drinks, and orders taken around us. Finally, our server apologized and said he would "make it right" with the experience we have already had. We went ahead and ordered our drinks, appetizers, and entrees while he was there, which good thing because another 15 minutes went by when we finally received our first drink and our appetizers all at the same time. Our loaded fries were fantastic, but my fiancé's beer glass was only 3/4 full when he received it (I'm assuming because at one time the draft beer had a head until it sat at the servers well too long). We had to wait a while also to get refills on our drinks once they were empty, but our entrees came out in a timely manner after our appetizer, but was not as tasty as when we normally eat there. The manager did come and speak to our table at the end of our meal and did take $15 off of our final receipt. I usually love our service and experience there, but after last night, I don't think my fiancé and I will be returning. The only reason we didn't walk out last night was because we would've had to wait another hour anywhere else in Florence on a Saturday night. Meh, skip it, wait staff don't care, cooks don't care, Why should you care. Food is unfrozen, microwaved, then thrown on a plate, they can't even be bothered to salt the fries or season the burgers. Beer is pricey, food is overpriced and management is no where to be seen. Suckybones read more

3:45 pm, Hardly anyone there. 3:50pm, Got the menu . 4:00pm, Took our order. 4:05pm, got our drinks. 4:25, got the food. The wife had linguine salad (which was good) I got St. Louis ribs. Slaw good, potatoe good, Ribs, Half was so tough you could hardly cut it, the other half was a little better. Over all the ribs were lousy. I didn't say anything at the time because I had a $10 coupon and that would be like looking a gift horse in the mouth. For the price of the ribs they should melt in your mouth ($16.99 I think) I eat here about once a month and have had good service and food. What happened! My wife and I were regular customers here eating there about 3 times a month. I had ordered the pork tenderloin dinner and to my surprise it was horrible. After a few bites I called the server over and showed her that the pork was completely raw on the inside. She agreed and took my plate away. She asked if I wanted anything else but at this point my appetite was completely ruined. The manager came over and tried to justify why the meat was in his words "rare". There is a big difference between rare and completely raw ! Well needless to say I have been violently sick for two days so far. I have had to go to the hospital lab for blood tests and to the doctor for which I am being treated for food poisoning. Not to mention the time I've missed from work. I have been in multi-facility management for quite a few years and the management training at this Florence, Ky location leaves something to be desired. I'm sorry, but offering a dessert doesn't help my medical bills or loss of wages ! And then to be argumentative on top of it really takes the cake. We will never return, and I will be sure to share this experience with as many people as possible. read more

Our church life group from St Paul Baptist in Peoria Il. had just visit the Ark encounter and we visiting the Florence mall then we lucked up at the Smokey Bones. We had a waitress named Paige and she was awesome. She laughed with us and when it was time to bless the food she offered to lead us in prayer. We have never experienced anything like that. Wes is awesome. He was so attentive to the table even though he was super busy with larger parties. I tend to drink a lot of tea and he was able to keep up with pace. :) The food never disappoints. Went to smokey bones in Florence this past Saturday night.... it was about 6:30 and the restaurant was maybe half full but the staff made us wait over 20 min to get a table then once we were seated they informed us that they were out of pulled pork and beef brisket.. not sure how that happens but should probably address that issue. read more

We've given this location many tries. Out of five visits the first two were probably 3-4 star visits. The last three were just 1-2 stars. Today was our final and last visit. We won't be visiting again. The final straw was the server removing an item off of my daughters plate with her hands when we requested a different item. It wasn't just once, it was three grabs. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was very inappropriate. The server obviously wasn't trained properly. Food quality as far as BBQ brisket is poor. It's very obvious that the brisket sandwiches are re-heated brisket that wasn't sold the day before. We've had good brisket as an entree here before, but out of three consecutive visits, never as a sandwich. When the bill runs $70 for my wife and three kids (no alcohol, one appetizer)you should expect more. At least I do. read more

Towards the end of my shift at work I decided to order some food to go using their online ordering. I've never eaten at Smokey Bones before but they were open late so I gave them a try. I placed my online order at 9:50pm and it said it would be ready by 10:15pm. When I arrived at 10:25pm I still had to wait another 10 minutes, as I don't think my order was even started yet. The staff was very friendly and attentive towards me. The establishment was very nice and they had a beautiful bar. Once I got my order and got home, my food was all correct. I tried the pulled pork with grilled chicken. The pork was okay nothing special, the chicken was very pleasant. I got a side of Mac and cheese, which had a good tang of spice but it was somewhat over cooked. My mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box, I was very disappointed with them. My boyfriend got an order of chicken wings, he said they were aright, nothing special. His side of coleslaw he said was terrible and he didn't even finish it. Overall the food was okay, but definitely not worth the the price I paid. read more

After spending nearly an hour at this place we left hungry. Our overworked server took 15 minutes to come by for a drink order and we waiting another 15 for the drinks to arrive. The pork nacho appetizer was served to us without the pork but with double jalapeno which we had asked to be left off. The dishwasher who brought the food to our table because our frantic waiter didn't have time, apologized and took it back to the pass where we watched the manager pick the jalapeno off with her bare hands. Needless to say those didn't get eaten when they returned to our table. It was then another 20 minutes before our cold, crusty and unappetizing meals arrived. Dry and obviously not smoked chicken, chewy and stringy pulled pork served alongside cold and crusty mashed potatoes and a flavorless coleslaw. Not the meal we had waited 50 minutes for. We wanted to leave but it took us 15 more minutes to find a person to call the manager. When she finally did arrive at our table she was exhasperated and obviously overwhelmed. And other than charging us for the drinks and taking the food off our bill seemed disengaged and uninterested in our terrible experience. This place needs help. read more

To be honest I have little use for the world of Barbecue...but the Smokey Bone is a fabulous exception to the rule. The strength of this establishment is the outstanding service, great drink specials, and the pretzels and beer cheese. read more

Best place within 100 miles!! I've been here a few times now and I can't tell you how much fun I have each and every time! We've had Wes a couple times and he's the BEST!! Always a great chat, fast on the drinks and perfect with the extras. Got me on the Smokey Bones loyalty card and you can even use it at the Columbus location. Great atmosphere and awesome employees!! Ate here after not visiting in a while. Heard of manager change in December and was skeptical about visiting. Should've stuck with my gut. Food OK. Advertisement for DosXX on tap - it's not! Overheard servers talking about recently fired employees being let go for "BS" reasons. New manager ( heavy set balding guy) seemed lazy. Just kind of wandering around looking lost and confused. The "old manager" tall guy, BRIGHT shirts was just energy. Would stop by and converse about everything I could throw at him. Food, drink, management all gone done. Guess sales follow since I won't visit again or recommend this place unless I'm in Louisville,Ky visiting family. read more
