Where do I start; from the time we entered Smokey Bones, they made us feel as if we were their only guests, the service was great, she knew the menu and was able to answer questions and make helpful suggestions. Hats off to the kitchen staff, the ribs were perfect as were the steamed vegetable. Even the simplest request was fulfilled and made the entire dining experience that more special. This is my favorite chain BBQ place. I was saddened a few years ago when most of them in my state closed, so whenever I am around Ft. Wayne I make a stop here. Service was fine, food was great as always. Biggest hang-up is price. Some of the best BBQ comes from holes-in-the-wall for cheap. I know this is a chain but it's steep in my opinion. But I'll probably keep going back because the food and the sauces are very good. Brunswick stew is a favorite of mine. read more

When we arrived at the restaurant, I noticed 2 things: first was the vacated El Patron, which still makes me sad, and the other was that the Smokey Bones sign was changed. The outside was not the only thing that had changed. Once inside we noticed that all of the flat screens had been removed from the dining room! That is one of the biggest reasons why we come here. So, we were seated near the bar so that we could see the TV's in the bar area. But, then we noticed that the sound-things were gone from the tables. So, we could see the TV's that were in the bar, but could not hear them. I can only assume that this means they don't really want you watching TV and hanging out. Eat and then get out. We had a coupon, and I guess we shouldn't have let the waiter see it, because as soon as he did, we didn't see him again until we were almost done with our meals. Refills on drinks came after we were finished. The food was ok - I had the garlic butter steak - quite good, actually. I tasted someone else's pulled pork, and it too was good. Overall, the food was good, the service a little lacking. I know that times are tough and servers are spread thin, but with so much comptetion, you have to step it up a bit to keep people coming back. We eat out quite a bit - probably too much :) So I am willing to spend my money, but I want it to be worth it. read more

This place is surprisingly good for a chain restaurant located in/near a mall. We came here with some family recently for the first time in years. The menu is pretty large with a variety of burgers, fish, steak, and BBQ. They also have a bar area, in case you're looking more for a meal of the liquid variety. I got the combo platter with the St. Louis ribs and Texas Brisket, both of which were actually very good. No, they weren't the best BBQ I've ever had, but good. The ribs practically fell off the bones while the brisket was tender, juicy, and had a nice smoke flavor. I doubt the brisket was actually Texas style (cooked on a log-fired smoker), but they were better than brisket typically is at places like this. Portions were good and I had another meal's worth of leftovers, which is always nice. Our waitress also did a nice job taking care of us, even with the somewhat large group. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere relaxed with some decent food. It's nothing amazing, but it is good. read more

Waited nearly 10 mins and then finally had to ask for a server. The server was friendly but apparently our order came up missing. Server told us the manager was going to come over but did not show up on his own, we had to request for him to come talk to us. Manager could not explain what happened to our order, just that "these things happen". He did reduce our bill but he gave it the server to bring to us, felt like manager should have returned with the bill himself. Several other tables had to request for service as well during our nearly 2 hour visit. Not busy and several staff standing around. Overall issue poor management! read more

The food was soooo good!! The ribs were fall off the bone good and the pork was so moist and flavorful! My husband ordered the bbq burger and it was great! Good prices and great coupons. The manager was so sweet I had an expired coupon and she gladly took it! I love how professional everyone came off and how they actually care! 5 stars all the way! read more

My husband visited this location after using their online order service. He showed up at the stated time for the order and checked in with the front desk. The hostess told him to go to an area to wait for someone to get the food. He stood in the specified area for 20 minutes waiting and no one acknowledged him or offered to assist him (even though he said multiple people were glancing his way). He proceeded to go back to the hostess to inquire about his wait and she said to go back to that area and that she would let someone know he needed assistance. After 10 more minutes waiting (up to 30 minutes of waiting at this point) he exited the building to get his phone to check the email confirmation time. He came back into the building to see another person being assisted with her carry out order and she had just entered during that several minute time span. He went into line directly behind her after he noticed she was receiving her food. The server then walked away immediately after giving her the food and after 5 more minutes of waiting for service my husband decided to cut his losses and leave. Moral of this story, don't order carry out from this location and don't expect great service for the price you are paying. read more

Last night after the last free summer concert at Jefferson Pointe my friend & I went for an appetizer at Smokey Bones, I had never been. We had good service, wonderful chicken wings (split 8), she had a beer & I had water. We then split their divine 6 layer chocolate cake with a scoop of icecream & 2 cups of coffee. We ordered by & paid by, with the help of our server, the tablet at the table. Couldnt have been better, we headed home very satisfied! Fast forward to this morning: My friend calls me to tell me her receipt remined her about the fried pickles we had forgotten we ordered & didnt receive, $6 something. She went on to say she was charged for 3 coffees instead of 2 at $1.99 a cup & to top it off an additional $1.95 billed as an "entertainment fee" for playing the kid's quiz on the tablet!! Okay, so we have $11.00 added to the bill & not to be a b#@?h but that now brings her total to $13.00 of food/drink/service not received! She phoned the restaurant, asked to speak to the manager & got as far as the fried pickles & was told she should have looked at her receipt last night & they would have gladly sent an order home with her, not the point. She then brought up the additional coffee & was again told "you should have looked at your receipt last night, but give me your name & you can pick the pickles & coffee up", again, not the point. Lastly the " entertainment fee" was brought to his attention & he told her, yes, that's the charge for the quiz... I know my friend's overcharge will be handled very different by the home office on Monday morning! read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon with our family. There were at the most 12 other tables seated. Waitress didn't know the prices of bottled Budweiser vs. draught, drinks took nearly 10 minutes to arrive (1 bottle beer, 1 coke, 3 waters). Lots of flies buzzing around our table as well as gnats crawling on the table. We were seated 5 to a corner booth, which had a broken booth seat that when moved removed the mold and filth beneath it. Food arrived at our table finally appx. 1-1/4 hours after we were seated. The food was hot but not worth the price. We were sat between 2 table each with screaming toddlers, in a seemingly empty restaurant due to the size. Waitress was nice but not well informed. Our first and last time at this chain. read more

My first time eating here was about a week ago. I had the pretzel bites and smoked tenderloin and my wife ordered the smoked chicken. Everything was top notch and I was more than satisfied with my service. I will definitely be eating here again. read more

Hubby and I visited on Sunday afternoon. Atmosphere is ok. Very distracting with so many tvs playing all football, Hubby enjoyed that part. Server seemed un experienced and didn't check back only once. Hubby ordered lrg top sirloin bake potato and a brunswick soup. "can I have my soup before my entree please. Sure no problem...My order Fire grilled salmon bake potato steamed broccoli. after a bit of a wait our meals finally came.. No soup though. We mentioned he wanted his soup before his meal manager said oh im sorry it'll be on me but I'll get that for you. In the mean time we start eating and steak was very small for the price. I wouldn't say it was a large and was luke warm, a little on the rubbery side for being cooked only to medium. both our potatoes were were a bit cool and seemed like left over skin were a bit hard in some spots. Broccoli was cold. My salmon was cooked to perfection that was a plus but it didn't make up for everything else. FINALLY got the soup...COLD and tasted like straight bbq sauce. Got the check she took off a whole .99 cents which was the cost of upgrading a soup as a side. Definitely not worth the wait or the price. read more

in town on business for a nu,ber of months and have been trying out various eateries about town... tried this one out on a lark and was very happy indeed. wasnt too hungry so i ordered a loaded baked potato with the soup. waiter suggested i get the soup/ salad combo and sub soup for the salad saving 1.50 right there. tells me a lot about the establishment right there. what i had tasted great nd was a reasonable portion. my companion ordered chowder and chicken. he said it was very good too. i am definately going back to try a larger meal very soon. send on my iPad read more

Went to this restaurant in a party of ten (six adults and four children).We waited over one hour and still did not get seated.Multiple people came in and were seated ahead of us(including a party of twenty four of a basketball team). The receptionist told the people coming in that it was a ten to fifteen minute wait.My children were taking my wife here for her birthday.I finally got upset and wwalked out and my family soon followed after being told it would be another ten minutes. Poor way to manage a business.I will not return to this restaurant ever. read more

This restaurant has it all from excellent service to amazing food. My kids and I wanted certain dinners but due to our food allergies we could not get it. I told the waitress this and she talked to the kitchen to see how she could fix this. By the end we got what we wanted with a few yummy changes. Thanks Smokey Bones!!!! read more

over priced, long wait one hour to get food to the table,you can get better food at Hardes or Wendy's.I wont waste my time again

Arrived at the Apple Glen Blvd at 12:45 with a party of 10. Understanding that a larger party takes some time to seat, we waited, and waited, and waited. Many other tables were seated while we waited. 45 minutes later, I asked when we could expect to get a table. Just a little longer, was the answer. But, we could be seated right away on the patio! Could have offered that 45 minutes ago!!! It was another 10 minutes to move some tables around, then we finally got seated after 1 hour. Drink order was taken promptly, but took about 10 minutes to get. Appetizers were then ordered ... you guessed it, another 30 minutes for them. Finally, after 90 minutes, we were able to order some meals. I didn't hold out much hope for improved service so I was not surprised when, 2 hours after arriving, I had to get the manager and ask if we could PLEASE get some service! She seems totally unconcerned and just said "it is coming now". No, sorry about the delay or had to wait on ribs to finish. Nothing. One of our party even had to leave for work before she could even eat. We ended up taking hers' to go. some meals came out hot; half were cool trending to cold. We didn't dare send them back. Two and a half hours to get lunch is totally unacceptable!! BTW, half of the restaurant was empty, so it was not that they were too busy. Ended three family's likely-hood to go back to this restaurant. Don't waste your time at this place. We sure won't. read more
