This restaurant is huge. It has a decent sized private parking lot and has fireplaces indoors. The staff there is very friendly and attentive. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and seated right away. The restaurant has dining room seating and bar seating available. I chose to sit at the bar. The bar is a full bar and serves beer, wine and signature cocktails. There are televisions around the bar that has sports playing. There menu is huge and if you check in on Yelp then you are eligible for a lunch special deal. I ordered the brisket sandwich, with a side of baked beans and steak fries. It did not take long to get my food. My meal was OK. My steak fries were well seasoned, but were very crunchy, as if they were overcooked. The baked beans were delicious, but was a very small serving. The sandwich was good. I added one of the restaurant's signature barbecue sauces that they had on the table. I think a 3.5 star rating would be more accurate, but because of the such great service I decided to round up. Is this the best barbecue that I have had? No! But it is good and the service here is outstanding. If it makes any sense, I would say that I would definitely eat here again, but it just would not be my first choice. read more

Last place my now in heaven Brother and Me art. I'm a poetic reviewer for here goes. April 2, 2022...day we buried our Father who suddenly died in his sleep. We ate here because our other brother said " Man they got the best burger fam"....so Smokey Bones unknowingly hosted our family's "funeral service". Small tribe of no parents and 4 child and their loves, we just wanted to eat together, and be okay. No big show. Just us and 5 others at funeral. A Maine Vet. Shocking. Anywho, food...made my soul calm. I enjoyed the wings, while my brother got this big ass burger as seen in picture. I seen that now, and look to heaven saying, you and dad are both gone now, and I just wanna have a Smokey Bones Burger. The charm and ambiance of this particular location, was spot on. Wheew where do I start? Well Indiana is not home to any good barbecue, regardless to what anyone tells you. My family has owned and operated southern Barbecue spots for years before we relocated.. so I know great bbq. We decided to order take out via the Smokey Bones website because I wanted ribs, but I really didn't feel like making them. I ordered two slab dinners a half chicken (all white meat) and a chocolate cake to go. My son in law picked the order up, and we noticed that my white meat order was simply a breast, a wing and a drum stick..!!!!! White meat is only breasts and wings. In addition a half of a chicken has four pieces.. why was my order just three pieces?? The sides were horrible also, and the ribs that were on special were dry and flavorless and even worse they were musty. I have no doubt in my mind that these ribs were cooked days ago. How do you serve chewy meat!! The final straw was the fact that the ice cream for the cake was packed with the hot food and it was melted. BTW the cake was horrible so please avoid that. I called and spoke with a manager for a refund of the missing chicken and he stated that he couldn't find the order.. but would make a refund for the missing piece of chicken when he was able to locate it. Worst food experience in Greenwood ever. Save your money and just cook at home. We stood at the front counter for almost 10 minutes before anyone said a word to us. When we're seated the table was dirty I had to ask for it to be cleaned off bcuz she sat the menus on top of the previous customers crumbs. The waitress we had was very inattentive. She kept draining from her nose and sniffing it back up clearly she was sick or something. To boot the food was nasty! Everything was too sweet. Sweet nachos, sweet ribs, sweet baked beans and the fire roasted corn just tasted weird all together. The food looked good in the plate but all of it was gross. I had to go up to the bar to get the $60 bill because the waitress never came back after she brought the food. No refills on drinks or even stopping by the table to ask if we needed anything else. Fiancé and I stopped in after a long morning planning his moms funeral arrangements. The place just opened, so we were the first customers. Ordered a bowl and a cup of chili along with 2 meals. Meals came out luke warm and the Bowl of chili was barely filled up. We then compared the cup of chili to the bowl, to which we poured the bowl into an empty cup to find out it was only a cup of chili poured into a bowl. We informed our server in which she asked if we would like a manger. The manager "Sarah" came, she approached our table ima very stern, non friendly way. My fiance explained the findings in which she cut him off and held her hand over our food pointing aggressively saying the ounces of each portion, but clearly visibly we received the same portion. She then repeated herself. we never once needed or asked for any money off, her approach was very unprofessional and she walked off with no solution and with a experience of the worst customer service we have experienced in a while. We came here for Mother's Day and had about a half hour wait. The front waiting area was extremely warm but once we got to our table we were glad it was cooler. We met a friend for dinner and ended up at Smokey Bones in Greenwood. She is handicapped and we asked for a table close to the entrance. They sat us at the closet booth moving chairs out of the way before she made it to the table. Thank you! Just a note, the entrance has heavy double doors and she wouldn't be able to get through them by herself. Our server arrived quickly with a smile on his face. We gave him our drink order and after scoping out the menu decided on the BBQ Pleaser Appetizer. I highly recommend for a group of 2 - 4 hungry people. The BBQ Pleaser comes with a generous portion of Fried Pickle Chips, 6 Smoked Chicken Wings with sweet BBQ Glaze, Loaded Fries and a mini version of BBQ Mag-Nachos. Something for most here and easily could be a large meal for one or share with a friend. Everything was good but the mini BBQ Mag-Nachos was the highlight for me. Freshly fried tortilla chips are topped with hickory smoked BBQ pulled chicken, pulled pork, yummy sliced jalapeños, fresh tomatoes, cilantro, cheddar jack cheese, home-made queso, sour cream then topped with sweet BBQ sauce. Yes, they are as good, and messy, as they sound. The Fried Pickles came in second for me but was my husband's first choice. While devouring the appetizers, we noticed our server kept disappearing. He dropped off drink refills a couple times before and after food arrived but raced off. My friend spilled her full drink and the server was there immediately with a stack of napkins but disappearing as soon as the napkins hit the table top without a word. After we cleaned up our mess another server took away the glasses full of soaked napkins. Our dinners arrived soon after the cleanup. The restaurant offers several styles of baby back or St. Louis ribs, chicken, pulled pork, pork belly, steaks, smoked turkey and several types of burgers including a Veggie Burger. A few other popular options are the wings, salads, Fritos Chili Pie, Brunswick stew, a 1-lb BLT plus a delicious selection of appetizers. The Family Feast selection can be ordered for carry-out or dine-in. My friend ordered the 3 Blackened Mahi-Mahi Tacos on flour tortillas and served Street style with red pickled onion, cilantro, salsa, white onions and salsa. The tortillas were soft and fresh plus the Mahi-Mahi was light, flaky and flavorful. Good Choice! My husband ordered the Pulled Pork Sammy with House Smoked Pork, hand-pulled served on a toasted bun and comes with one side (FF's for him). I tried the Mahi-Mahi Sandwich served with one side. The filet can be prepared blacked, grilled or pan seared and I opted for grilled. When the sandwich arrived the filet was overcooked, extremely dry and flavorless. I couldn't eat but a tiny portion. I guess I need to ask how they prepare the Mahi for the tacos since the fish was light and flaky. Mine was not and this is my second attempt with the Mahi sandwich. This is off my list. Our server stopped by but everyone had finished eating so I didn't order anything else. I like the restaurant, the music, the casual atmosphere and the food. I love a place that offers several fun and filling appetizers where I can order a small appetizer, salad to a rack of ribs or even a burger. Haven't been here in ages, Costco has gift cards you spend 70 and get 100 in cards. Had the ribs a large corn bread that is sold as an appetizer. Quick service, warm food, extra sauce, plenty of choices even if you do not like bbq you have choices. Bar has tv's all around. read more

Saturday April 6th 2024 We came for dinner. Got our drinks. Told server we needed 2 minutes. We waited almost 15 minutes for server to return. Wife ordered pulled pork & I ordered the brisket. Both meats as well as our baked potatoes were not hot and at best were tepid. My wife and I both agreed that our meats weren't at all flavorful. I very rarely ever use a bbq sauce because I enjoy the Smokey flavor of the meat. It wasn't smoked long enough or just a bad cut of meat. Anyway, the meal was very disappointing. This isn't my first review of this restaurant. We last ate there in 2018 and that meal was as dismal as the one we had tonight. Back then they asked me to contact them after they saw my review and they would make better. I contacted the person at the email but I never heard back from them. Regardless, we are done patronizing this restaurant and just hope they can learn from this and the prior review and make the necessary corrections. Save your time and go to City BBQ. Sooooooo we came back to one of our fav late-night spots. As it wAs crowded and we did LOVE the food before we had the bad experience. Anywho, can you say they made up for allllll the bad. Hubby and I ordered pretty much a smorgasbord of food. Wings, platter, mac, onion rings and doughnuts!!! If you go for anything go for the fresh doughnuts!! Promise you'll love them. Poorly run business with bad service. Food is pretty good, but they need a new manager to run this place. We were told table would be ready in 10-20 minutes. Were greeted and seated but waited over 10 minutes at least before a waitress brought us menus and then another long wait before she came back for our order. My husband order a brisket dinner and I ordered a pulled pork dinner. They were served very quickly but the food was lukewarm at best. The baked potatoes were shriveled like they'd been baked in advance of the dinner hour and then microwaved. But the worst was the meats that were served. We visited here recently for Mother's Day with a group of 6. We had to wait about 30-40 minutes. Once seated, we were placed in a booth near back of store. My husband ordered us a starter of Korean BBQ pork belly bites which were cooked perfectly and melted right in your mouth with a great flavor. For the entrée, I ordered the brisket stew chili in a bowl and a side of broccoli. The chili was served hot and was pretty tasty. This is a really good BBQ restaurant. I had 1/2 slab of baby back and 1/2 slab of st. Louis style. The meat was "fall off the bone" good. I've been to several BBQ places. But I would say the ribs have more meat on them than any other place I've been in Indy. Service was good. They have like 8 different bbq sauces to use. I've never been one to branch out much in terms of trying new things, because I'm the ultimate Burger consumer when I go to BBQ related places. However, I decided to today. I ordered the Brisket Grilled Cheese Meal with a side of French Fries. My lunch date ordered the 8-Count of Smoked Wings (Half Teriyaki Glazed, the other half Naked) with a Baked Potato for the side. I am so grateful that I decided to try this meal! It was much better than I expected. It was absolutely packed with flavor, and was piping hot. The Sourdough Bread was crispy, buttery, yet soft like a pillow. The cheeses were melted perfectly, and the BBQ sauce was not overwhelming. Everything about the sandwich was just incredible!
