    Barbecue meat platter
    Khalida A.

My family and I decided to try them out for our Saturday night dinner. We traveled from Stockton and it was well worth it. We ordered the barbecue platter, veggie Biryani and plain rice. All the meat on the platter was absolutely delicious and each meat had its own distinct flavor and texture. Both rice options were very different and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was pretty quaint so the eating area was pretty small.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, the big taste made us feel like we were in a huge fancy restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place is a hidden jewel in Lodi!!!!!

My husband is a quiet, sometimes shy man, but he could give a powerful, loud speech about how much he loves Smokey Grill's Smokey Chicken sandwich. He texted me on his lunch break the other day (while eating leftover salad) that he was thinking about that sandwich and was telling his co-worker about it. Our first time, we tried the mixed bbq tray, which also included grilled veggies and a few slices of cucumber and lime. The cool, refreshing mint and cilantro in their chutney went perfectly with all of the spice and smokiness. I am still thinking about their incredibly tender Chicken Malai and Tandoori Fish packed with flavor. The cashier was friendly and patient with us as we were new here and took a while to decide. Because of my husband's love of their Smokey Chicken sandwich, we returned the next night for another one. Our son said everything he's tried is a 10. His favorite is the BBQ chicken sandwich. We also tried the Tandoori Chicken Pizza last night, and I'm currently eating it cold for breakfast, with my coffee and coconut milk. After a few bites, I put my paper plate down and stared lovingly at the smokey chicken, olives, and peppers. The flavors are so perfect and balanced. Nothing is greasy. It doesn't make you feel sick and bloated like fast food. Their food put a spell on us. We must be careful and not spend our gas and grocery money on their food. I would wash their dishes to get free food. We are new to Lodi, and we love it here. Surrounded by wineries, the lake, and Smokey Grill!

7/18/25 today at 6:00 pm my cousin went there to get a pizza for us and then we ate it and then looked closer at it told everyone to stop eating they said what why? I was like because theres a piece of hair in the food so we threw it away and that wasnt really cool at all what if my cousin gets sick or if i get sick it will be a big problem dont come to this place thanks

Lamb biryani was spicy and good.

I had tried a number of Indian food related items off this menu and not once have I been disappointed. I'm almost ready to try some of the other items they offer. Just to see if they're as good as the Indian items. I ordered the big plate of meats and we all loved the spice along with the a garlic Naan. It seems to get hotter the next day. If you like Indian food, you can't go wrong with this place.

We were craving some Indian food and decided to try Smokey Grill. The weather has been crazy hot so we ordered out food to go so we could eta in our air conditioned house. We tried the samosas to start as well as the chicken tikka masala meal and the chicken karahi. We also ordered their regular and garlic naan. The heat on the chicken tikka was overwhelming in my opinion but you get used to it and the dish is actually very tasty. The karahi was not for me but I did try it and although I found it bitter and found the meat chewy,, my husband enjoyed it. The naan were both excellent and the samosa was good as well but the chutney that accompanied it was far too spicy so we ate it plain. I found the price to be a bit high for what we received. There was a lot of rice and the salad was just a piece of lettuce and a few raw veggies with no dressing whatsoever. There were also too many pieces of hard/chewy meat in my husband's dish. I would return to try their pizza or their burgers on another occasion and if we order Indian from this location again, we will opt only for the main dishes only and just cook some rice at home.

Wow. SQZ Burger has been open for nearly three years in Lodi and I never noticed it. I know I've…read moredriven past it many times, but I guess their signage is too modest compared to the huge "IDOL BEER WORKS" on the other end of the building. I figured it was just another iteration of the original (now long gone) Squeeze Inn in Sacramento, and I was right. I don't think the various locations are franchises, but are more likely independently owned, and the quality varies from location to location. The one that used to be in West Sac, for instance, was terrible, which might explain why it's been gone for years. And the mid-town was also a resounding MEH, and also gone. There's nothing at any version of Squeeze Inn/Burger that I want more than just a basic Squeeze (or in this case, SQZ) with Cheese, though. I don't want a taco, nor a BLT, and especially not chicken strips. I want that which made the brand famous. A cheeseburger with all the traditional toppings and a cheese skirt just dripping cheese grease off it. SQZ Burger delivers the goods. The cheese skirt was just the right size, not too big, not too small. At one point in my life I would have said that there's no such thing as a cheese skirt that's too big, but a couple of years ago I had a cheese skirt that was so big that I felt sick afterward from all the cheese grease! In addition to the just right amount of cheese, the burger had lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and a healthy schmear of mayo and mustard. Damn near a perfect burger. The owner was running the register on my visit, and when she brought my food out, she asked if I wanted a side of ranch. I'm the kind of guy who would drink ranch dressing if I could, so of course I accepted. I didn't even ask - It was nice of her to offer! There's a throughline from the original Squeeze Inn on Power Inn Road to SQZ Burger, too. The father of the husband half of the H/W ownership team owned the original location. Brandon and Katie ran the Galt location for several years, and have now brought the goodness to a Lodi brick and mortar spot. I'll definitely be back.

I had the western bacon cheeseburger with fries and a strawberry shake. These burger was full of flavor and BIG! Not sure exactly how they make their fries, but they're amazing. And my strawberry shake was good also. We had about 45 people all land at the same time, and SQZ was able to quickly get us all served in short order. I do love the vibe of both SQZ & IDOL. It was a nice little drive both ways with an epic food stop in between.

We couldn't decide what to order, so we ended up getting three dishes for the two of us--the fajita omelet, the Denver omelet, and the biscuits and gravy. We also ordered a spicy Bloody Mary, which was delicious. The standout? The biscuits and gravy. The first bite had my husband blurting out, "Oh f***... this is good!" Honestly, that pretty much summed it up. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. If you're looking for a great brunch spot in Lodi, this is definitely worth checking out. We were seated quickly and served waters right away. My husband ordered the fish and chips, while I went with the jalapeño chicken sandwich. The sandwich came with a grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese, crispy fried onions, and jalapeño dressing on grilled ciabatta bread. I also upgraded my fries to their Bleu fries (topped with bleu cheese crumbles and bleu cheese dressing). The fries were definitely a highlight--served hot, crispy, and perfectly paired with the bleu cheese. My husband was really impressed with the fish and chips, which he hadn't tried here before. The fish was beer-battered and fried, served with fries and coleslaw. He especially liked the coleslaw, noting that it tasted fresh with great flavor and wasn't overly coated in mayo. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and the experience. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Bad: Their "Kobe" burger was $29 or so and was a good portion size. The problem? Lacking any kind of flavor or seasoning. The beef was flavorless. The stroganoff was a good portion size but again it was severely lacking in the seasoning department. Good: Those who ordered the corn soup and the porcini mushroom ravioli enjoyed them. They especially enjoyed the sauce from the ravioli. The desserts overall were enjoyed by the table. The sticky toffee pudding, while not as rich as we are used to, was still relatively good; soft and moist enough. The dark chocolate oblong with mango passion fruit was enjoyed by everyone too. The interior remains unchanged; like a classy London gastropub. Service: communication is key. Where they dropped the ball was that we mentioned on the reservation that we were there for Father's Day and prime rib, which they do on Sundays. As you walk in you even see the sign for the prime rib special. We sat down and the server mentioned that there was no prime rib this weekend. I had even chatted with them on the reservation app and they made no mention of this. We could have gone somewhere else had we known in advanced. Our server was relatively nice too.

I was recommended to try the pork schnitzel by my friend and it did not disappoint. I got my sandwich with a side salad. We also ordered the deviled eggs to share. My friend has never had the deviled eggs before and pleasantly surprised and delighted that the eggs were absolutely delicious. They're very smooth, eggs were cooked perfectly and the touch of bacon was just right. It does come with a small helping of mixed greens topped with pickled onions. The pork schnitzel was crispy & crunchy due to the breaded pork loin, came with pickled onions, slaw and the chipotle aioli sauce. The sauce does have a bit of a kick to it but it wasn't too spicy, well, at least for me. My salad was very good too. It was colorful and had an interestingly tangy dressing on it. It paired well with the sandwich. One was spicy and the salad was tangy but refreshing. My friend also ordered the pork schnitzel with beef tallow fries. I tried some of her fries and they were thin but still crispy. Overall the food at West Oak Nosh was so good and delicious! Service was good, prompt and our server was attentive despite being by herself. I think this place is great for the summer to have a drink and eat. Will have to come back for the drinks!

Although the window was only separated by a screen door, I have to keep repeating my orders which only consists of chicken burger, curly fries, onion rings, 2 cheeseburger, and 2 drinks. It would help if she would take off her earbuds out of her ear so she can focus on the orders because she messed up names and orders of 2 more customers after us even though they repeated their orders and spelled their name multiple times. There was a bit of a wait, but when our food came, it looked ok. It was served on a food paper container. The cheeseburgers were nothing really to rave about. The fries were ok, but I would like if they had other options for toppings like chili or cheese. The chicken burger was the only one that passed our expectations. It tasted somewhat closer to the ones we were looking for so that was a plus. It would also be nice to have fans outside their area if you decide to eat it there since summertime can be hot.
