I called Meeks water treatment and asked them to come give me a solution. I explained I am from NY and have never had to deal with a well or this type of water and would be relying on their expert information. They discussed a system that would stop all the above and give us great water to drink. I agreed and we had the system installed. Had them set up on a regular visit for salt and service. So, the smell and black residue came back shortly after (just under a year) they came out looked it over and said THEY installed one of the pieces backwards and they needed to fix that AND I had to pay for labor. Yup, I did it, again, mistakes happen, ok, I dont think I should have had to pay, but. Ok, a little over a month, SAME THING. This time they tell me, again their mistake, I should have had a different unit installed not what I have and oh yes, they would give me a break on parts and labor, but I still had to pay. You guessed it, AGAIN we have the same thing, paid again for a service call to be told I need to get a plumber to come back wash my new water heater because when they had them set up in the wrong order it may have pushed sediment into the heater. Paid a plumber to come do just that, have video of NOTHING coming out of the heater and the plumber said, no way that is what is wrong. so here I sit, thousands out and still have a smell to the water and black sediment in the toilets. HELP, I am done calling Meek for them to keep charging me for THEIR mistakes. I wouldnt be SO against them if maybe they once said, Hey, this has been our problem, the service call is on us.

I had already worked myself into believing this might involve cameras, locating equipment, drainage plans, excavation, and who knows what else. Jeremy took one look at the situation and said, essentially, "Nope." The problem was simple, and so was the solution. He explained that the pop-up drain was doing what it was designed to do, but the excess water had found an easier path underground, which also explained a soft depression nearby (this was causing a lot of soil erosion on my neighbor's property). He then spent a great deal of time walking me through the remedy: where to dig, how deep and wide to make the area, how to use gravel and plants, and how to install deeper edging so the water would disperse properly instead of gushing toward my neighbor's property. I asked a lot of questions. Jeremy answered every one patiently, then went over the plan a second and third time because I wanted to make sure I understood. He physically mapped everything out so I could clearly understand what needed to be done. There was no attempt to sell me camera diagnostics, unnecessary cleaning, excavation, or an expensive drainage system. He charged only the $79 trip fee and nothing more. That kind of honesty is increasingly rare. We just want to say that your company is one of the best. We had a situation where our pump was on it's last legs. You sent out a crew and they were not able to pull the pump to replace it. Instead of just saying that a new well had to be dug, you sent out Ryan and Chris to try a new gadget/tool that the company had designed. The tool hammered the well pump/piping just enough to loosen up the pump so it could be pulled out and replaced, saving us the cost of drilling a new well. Chris and Ryan made it look so easy. On top of saving us the cost of drilling a new well, we were not charged for the first visit and the total cost for a new pump and piping was very reasonable. This company has been around for a long time. There is a reason. Excellent service from the office staff to the crew in the field. We had a low water pressure issue. Tom and Chris came out, identified the problem and gave us our options. Just a few days later the Dynamic Duo, Tom and Kenny, came out and within a couple of hours completely replaced my pump, pipe and tank. (the current system was 30 years old). They were extremely prompt, professional, courteous and it was apparent of the pride they took in their work. I'll never call on another company. I've only needed well service three or four times in the last 27 years. Each time, Smokey's technicians handle the job efficiently and at a reasonable price. We had no water today and Ryan found the issue in about 30 seconds. He replaced the broken pressure switch, discovered the capacitor was leaking and recommended replacing it. The pressure gauge has been broken for years and I asked him to replace that too. He even made the excellent suggestion to slip a black sock on my sand filter, to prevent algae growth. He didn't have an extra sock on him so I used one of mine. I hope I don't need service on my well for a long time, but when I eventually do, I'll call Smokey's. read more

We have a rental house on the Rainbow River. I got a call from our guests early on a Saturday morning telling me the well wasn't working. We used Smokeys in the past for other properties, so I called and left a message for the "on call" person. Rodney called right back and headed over to our property promptly. I had a problem with my house pump. When I called Smokey's yest, the lady in the office set the appointment for today and they were here on time. Ryan and Jeff did a terrific job replacing my old pump and lines under somewhat adverse conditions. They had good water to my house in less than 2 hours and the price was pretty much what I expected.
