To meat plate. With mac & cheese and barbecue beans. For the meat, I got sliced brisket and smoked turkey

This was my first time trying the restaurant. It was absolutely delicious! Not only was the food delicious the service here was impeccable. They let me try things on the menu before I ordered my meal to make sure I loved it. Of course I did. I'm definitely coming back and letting others know to try it as well !!

Sweet potatoes, chopped brisket, fried catfish, baked beans, cabbage, green beans

Lovely gem in the heart of Dallas!! We were looking for a barbecue or southern food spot during the holiday season and this one happened to check both boxes! Got the fried catfish, sliced brisket, yams, green beans, cabbage and baked beans! The food was so good that we ended up taking pictures halfway through the meal Just celebrated their 1 year anniversary and they were incredibly kind! Definitely worth the trip.

    Turkey sandwich.

The food could use help! HELP! Help!! No, really!!! HELP!!! The turkey is sliced bologna y'all. WHY! . That's not even real food. I wouldn't give that to my dogs. Much less eat it myself. Yeah this is gonna be a mean one! The brisket was dry, the ribs barely had any flavor to them very fatty. The green beans were OK nothing to write home about. The service was slower than molasses, pouring out a tree. Took them 38 minutes, we were the first ones in line, for four plates. The ambience had two televisions playing in the background. They did have a photo op, which was nice and a fake bull with a Mexican hat. I probably will never come to this place again and I usually always give restaurants a second chance because maybe they were off but unfortunately Lunch is only an hour and if I can't sit down and eat my food in half an hour and drive 10 or 15 minutes to and fro then it's really not worth it. If the food is not good and it was expensive too $16 for a turkey sandwich that isn't even real turkey come on people we could do better than that. Two meat plate with two sides, two slices of bread for $28.42 with tax. Take away their soul, food card and barbecue card. Oh, I forgot to mention that MR. Man assembling your plate had an attitude as I stood at the counter waiting for my order. BBQ is all prepared all the sides are already cooked so I truly don't understand what I was waiting for.

Sliced beef Mac and cheese Cabbage So delicious and tasty Lovely place

The pastrami is incredible--it literally melts in your mouth and is packed with flavor. Their brisket is just as amazing and always cooked perfectly. The prices are a little higher than some barbecue places, but the quality more than makes up for it. The service is fast, the staff is friendly, and the vintage atmosphere gives the place a lot of character. My biggest tip is to get there right when they open at 10:00 AM, Wednesday through Friday. The line builds quickly, and you don't want to miss out on their best items. If you're looking for some of the best barbecue around, Cattleack is absolutely worth the trip!

The line took over 1.5 hours before I was able to place my order. At the register, I noticed I had been double charged and pointed it out to the cashier. Mistakes happen, especially during busy hours. However, she initially denied it and removed meat from my plate to reweigh it. She later acknowledged the mistake and admitted the error, but not before making an unnecessary scene. The brisket was good, but the overall experience could have been better. 2 stars.

(Side note:…read morethis is ALWAYS a great place to stop for a bathroom break when you are visiting the Bishop Arts District.) We came in for a snack and, of course, left completely full. My friend absolutely loved the burnt ends. He liked them so much that after we finished the first order, he went back and got a second one, plus some brisket and elote. I thought everything was good, but I will say the menu felt a little limited. This is definitely one of those places where I am glad I finally tried it because it is part of the local DFW BBQ experience, but it is probably not somewhere I would specifically seek out again. That said, if someone wanted to go, I would go again without complaint. I DO want to try the Burndt end bloody mary!

Hey Lockhart Smokehouse!…read more (And I'm curious WHY you are called Lockhart - 'cause I used to live in Austin, TX, and going to Lockhart for BBQ was one of our favorite Friday afternoon excursions...) The vibe in this place is really great. The people are friendly. Downtown Plano is cool. The restaurant and bar area are clean, well-attended, and the food and drink are all good. So why only 3-stars? To be fair, I came here on a weeknight around 6:30pm, which is not the best way to judge a BBQ place. I will try to come back on a Friday at lunch time, and I hope things will be epic. Bottom line, I wasn't blown away by the meats! They were well cooked, but the flavor just didn't impress. The Sause (sorry, I'm a Rudy's loyalist) was tasty, but didn't blow my mind. A nice sweet + smoky flavor that worked better with the Spare Ribs than the Brisket. (Another minot note -- I know a lot of BBQ places eschew Baby Back Ribs for Spare Ribs. Lockhart only does Spare Ribs.) Would I come back? 100% Would I recommend that you go here? 100% I have to say the bartender was terrific, and the pit masters were super friendly, so no dis on the staff. I was just hoping for "oh my god" BBQ and didn't quite get there. Still a great visit.

Rating: 6.5/10 Date Last Visited: 7/12/2026…read more I ordered Brisket ($35/lb), Pork Ribs ($29/lb), the Texas Twinkie ($6), and a quart of Hatch Chili Mac N Cheese ($15). The brisket and pork ribs were decent, but honestly pretty dry and lacking in flavor when compared to some other BBQ places in DFW. For the price, it's pretty similar to other BBQ in the area. The Texas Twinkie is a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. It was my favorite item as the cream cheese and bacon balanced out the spiciness of the jalapeño. The mac n cheese was also delicious with the perfect amount of spice. The service was great too as they made a mistake on my order and quickly corrected it. I like that this place is open daily and for dinner too. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're in the area and looking for some BBQ, but if you're a huge fan of BBQ then I recommend going to the other top BBQ places.

The texture was extremely mushy and the meat inside tasted like someone already did the chewing for you. We also got the mac and cheese, corn, basbusa, banana pudding. I could explain them in depth, but I would just recommend not getting them. The brisket empanadas were the only thing we all looked at each other with excitement for! This time, I had birria tacos on my mind. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - I love the Dallas Farmer's Market, and Hurtado is the perfect restaurant to occupy this space. There is a line that steadily moves, nice outdoor and indoor seating, and if you walk towards the back you can see all the smokers. If you visit on a weekend, try to arrive before noon to avoid long lines. 1 Star. Service - You place your order, take a number, and your order is brought out to you. While you don't get to see the staff cut your meat in front of you, they are very fast and efficient. There are also Hurtado staff who will clear plates off your table. Great people here. 1 Star. Food - I came for the Birria tacos. Hurtado uses their smoked brisket, which shredded and paired will all things that make Hurtado special - Mexico flavors (cilantro, onions, and that beefy consommé). I also ordered a two-meat plate with brisket and bacon burnt ends. The brisket is great (and well represented in many Yelp reviews). On this visit, the bacon burnt ends stole the spotlight. A well-seasoned and smoked pork belly cube will melt in your mouth. I washed down my meal with the Tres Leches Banana Pudding and ended an incredible meal. One last very important note, Hurtado is a great value. My two tacos, 2 meat plate, and desert were $50. P.S. I split this meal with my son. I love food but I'm not a glutton. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I've been to the OG Hurtado in Arlington, the one at Globe Life Field, but the location in the Dallas Farmers Market is my favorite of them all. Yes, I will be back! 1 Star.
