My girlfriend had used this company a couple of times in the past when they were just starting out, and swore by them profusely. When it came time for us to move, we gave them a call for our move. Immediately, Lucas remembered who she was, and was extremely friendly and thanked us for keeping him in mind for our moving needs. We scheduled the company and even though we didn't give them much notice, Lucas switched his staff around to make it possible for us to schedule our move when we needed to. Our crew, Gabe and Alex, called us 10 minutes before they came to let us know they would be there (and they were right on time). These guys showed up to work, and they worked hard, quick, and most important, very carefully. They expertly took apart all the furniture, wrapped it all, and did not put one scratch on anything, or break even one champagne glass on the boxes we marked fragile. They packed the truck PERFECTLY, making sure that everything would be secure in transit. When it came time to unload, Gabe and Alex quickly assembled everything, cleaned up after themselves, and left us thoroughly impressed. These guys were so awesome! First of all, I didn't need a truck, I just needed four guys to move a couple of unwieldy/heavy items from one floor to the other. They needed to move a massive couch and a very tall, very heavy built in refrigerator. For this, I only needed 1-2 hours. Everyone else had a minimum time slot. Smooth Movers did not, as long as I was local (I am). They came on time, and worked their butts off quickly and efficiently, from start to finish. The moving situation was like a puzzle, and they tried a few scenarios before they worked out how best to move things. They came armed with high quality tools to remove railings, doors, etc. and blankets to make sure they didn't damage walls or floors. They were totally respectful of our home and our stuff, which isn't the norm. The best part was that they were so nice, and were basically smiling the whole time they were working. I was very skeptical, I had never hired movers. My buddy flaked on me short notice and my brother broke his ankle the night before, but my girlfriend say we should use these guys. We only had a day to get out of the old place and in to the new place and they came through. We obviously weren't gonna get it done by ourselves and aside from being totally helpful and very professional they were actually pretty cool. I thought it would be weird paying people to handle all my personal items but I was totally comfortable packing up all my stuff. And, I've move a lot in the last 7 years so I thought I was a pro at it, but man... they did it so much faster and smoother than I ever could. I am not one to write a review, but recently my moving experience was so awesome I felt compelled to let the world know about it. My move was 15 miles from previous home, I am currently pregnant and couldn't help my husband much so we decided to hire movers. We were referred to Smooth Movers by a friend. They moved our entire house consisting of 2 bedrooms and living room furniture and kitchen appliances. The day of the move Jesus and Lucas arrived early in the morning, on time and ready to work. They separated duties and worked quickly and efficiently. They were very careful to wrap our furniture so it would not get scuffed coming down the stairs and were very careful with a very large mirror I have(which made it to the new place intact). They loaded boxes carefully and in a methodical manner so it would be easier when it came time to unload. They were both very friendly and personable you could really tell they know the business of moving and take pride in their work. The whole move took them around 5 hours to load and unload and they set up our appliances, beds and dressers. BOOK THESE GUYS NOW if you're moving. They helped my boyfriend and I move yesterday and we are more than happy with the service they provided. They were on time, professional, and personable. I had mis quoted the amount of boxes we had, so when they showed up it was clear that one trip wasn't going to cut it with the size truck they had. No problem!! Jesus was on the phone right away and had a second truck and a third guy within a half hour. They got all of our stuff in like the Tetris masters they are and it only cost us $30 more an hour for the second truck/3rd guy. Plus they didn't start the clock until the second truck got there?! Smoooooth, indeed! We were in a frenzy to find movers to help us transport a Free fridge we found on Craigslist (yes, FREE, so you can understand our frenzy), and found this company on Yelp. Couldn't be happier with the work that Lucas and his guys did with my move this afternoon. They arrived on time, got right to work and did an incredibly efficient job in my one bedroom apartment, handling and loading all of my furniture into their trucks with great care. I was especially impressed with the work they did with my sofa, which is pretty big/wide and took forever to get through the front door of my apartment when I first moved in. But Lucas' crew took care of it like pros, first unbolting the front door and deftly/carefully managing to get the sofa out in minutes. Before moving day, Lucas initially quoted me an hourly rate but also gave me the option of going with a flat rate, which is what we ended up agreeing on. Last Thursday night, April 23rd, I came home to a number of flooded rooms in our apartment because our upstairs neighbor had an overflowing toilet in his master bedroom. My roommate got it worse than I did since that bathroom is directly over his bedroom. Since I was planning on moving out on May 1st anyway, I just decided to move out early to avoid all the hassle of room fans, dehumidifiers, moving everything into other rooms, etc. I needed movers to help me get packed and out fast!! Very disappointed. Moved into a house where we had just put down new engineered hardwood flooring the day before. The guys were not careful at all while unloading and assembling furniture because they wanted to get home, and they left numerous scratches and gouges in the floor that will require hundreds of dollars to repair, not to mention the scratched and scuffed furniture that was also brand new. A shame as they came recommended from several colleagues. I would absolutely not recommend if you have any expectation that they will be careful with your stuff. read more

I've worked with Smooth Movers (better known as Luke and Jesus) twice- once to move apartments, the other to move a washer/dryer. Despite all the stress moving inherently brings, Luke and Jesus were swift and efficient in helping me both times. They're also incredibly handy and resourceful; most of my furniture is IKEA, and during the move a few screws in the bookshelf came loose. Luke was able to fix it with his own tools despite the loss. They're also very committed to doing the job right by their clients. When my bed came apart within a week or so of moving, they went the extra mile to make it right by buying and assembling a new headboard for me. That's commitment! Well, when you find people who have a work ethic of service and integrity, give you a great experience, respect your things and bring good energy, on technically one of the top three most stressful things we do, then you want others to experience it too. Booked a move for a Monday; received a confirmation email from Lucas that we're all set and that Chris and Jesus would be there at 10am promptly. 10am Monday rolls by, no Chris and Jesus. 10:15am, no movers showed up yet and not even a phone call to say they were late. Called in and nobody was picking up, no responses to my emails either. Dialed again at 10:20 and apparently there was a mix-up in scheduling. Lucas sent two more movers out and so we didn't get started until 10:50, almost an hour later. When they did show up though they were really fast and efficient and knew exactly how disassemble and reassemble furniture. Taking 1 star off for the timing issue, otherwise, they were great. read more
