We recently used Sinatra Movers for a short move within Santa Monica (about 3 blocks). The move consisted of about 1.5 bedrooms' worth of furniture and boxes. The 3-man crew worked hard, was professional, and completed the move in about 4.5 hours. I would have given the experience 5 stars, but we did run into a misunderstanding at the end that resulted in additional charges we were not expecting. That said, after following up with the company, they reviewed the situation and resolved it to our satisfaction. To help avoid any surprises, in addition to using a "Yelp Guaranteed" mover like Sinatra, I'd recommend confirming a couple of things ahead of time: 1. What materials (especially shrink wrap and tape) are included versus charged separately--and what those costs are. It's also worth asking for an estimate of how much may be used, as those charges can add up quickly. Our move, for example, used six rolls of shrink wrap. Tip: If you want to manage costs, you might consider sourcing your own materials in advance as it can save you quite a bit. 2. Whether any of your items may be considered heavy or bulky and subject to additional charges. That all being said, we appreciated the Sinatra team's hard work and their willingness to work with us to reach a resolution. We would definitely consider using them again. read more

The amount of boxes in my love did increase and materials used definitely weren't an additional $600 worth from initial estimate, and a total of $1000 when tip was added. I admit I had a lot of miscellaneous items and quite a few boxes for books and kitchen items, but 80% of my items were already packed when they got there. My move a year before took half the time and only cost $600 for three movers. Scheduling was easy, and the office was responsive, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the two movers from Sinatra took the longest paths possible, left the truck open and unsupervised each time, and wasted my time and theirs. No floor protection was provided, even though I requested it, and my old apartment and new place were a total mess at the end of it. I definitely feel ripped off. read more
