I went with a group of friends for Father's Day to Kabayan and was pleasantly surprised. They have a family feel with the store on one side and seating one the other side for your meal. The menu is extensive with lots of options to choose from appetizers to entrées to kabayan, and that can be split with a large group of the notable options was the sisig, the pork, and our table really loved the fish. The service was friendly and the staff was very attentive to our party. We decided for dessert to have some ice cream and the Ube flavor is delicious! They have it available for purchase in the store, we ended up leaving with two half gallons. All in all I would recommend Kabayan for a visit. read more

Food is good. Their Ube cake is great. We support local Filipino restaurants but ... this is one of the most unromantic place to dine in. The cooking staff are loud and obnoxious. While we eat (we come here because it's nearby), the people in the kitchen talk loudly while talking about other people and their unkind situation. Yes they are gossiping in Tagalog and we can hear them. And if you do not speak the language, it's basically plain noise. Did I mention they love to sing while they are cooking? Old name was Manny's. Fresh Lumpia with peanuts and garlic is one of my favorites. Healthy and delicious. We have it at least weekly and love it along with kalbereta beef and menudo pork with rice. Chicken and pork barbecue on a stick must be tried also. It's great. Very friendly staff, easy parking on Union Turnpike and fair prices for the good food keep us going back for more. I usually just get 2 dishes over rice combo (combo 2). So far it tastes good but it is oily (most of dishes). Can't eat it everyday, but it's nice to have something quick to bite and go. Food is good. Good to find authentic Filipino dishes. Their Ube cake was amazing. However, every ti e we dine in the staff are very loud. The kitchen staff are even louder as they chat and sing to other. Usually music is blasting loudly. Thank goodness I do not understand Tagalog well or probably I will be annoyed of what they are talking about. But imagine your cooks singing and chatting while cooking your food. Spit everywhere!!! Was in the area waiting for pizza to be ready so decided to stop in and see what they had. It was my second time inside. First time, was last summer during the pandemic, I walked in and left because no one was inside and didn't see many options. This time I saw people going in and out, so went to take a peek. There was a line for the hot food station (that's a good sign) and they all looked to be Filipino (even better sign). Saw that they had my favorite noodles, Palabok, so I got on line. Ordered a large (quart size) and ordered a pint of what looked like pork belly stew. The customer in front of me suggested getting the sweet plantain spring roll, so I did! I also grabbed some of their seasoning packets to try and make my own Filipino dishes...can't wait! Everything I bought was yummy! But I probably wouldn't get the spring roll again...I would stick with the traditional spring rolls. I will definitely be back to try other things. read more

Simple as the lumpiang gulay and tortang talong did not taste good. Sisig was too salty. All the dishes were over priced. Chose here as a venue for a birthday/anniversary party for 60 people with live music and the result was outstanding. We booked about a month in advance a 3-6pm time slot on a Saturday with buffet offering for our guests. The performers we hired also helped as an emcee. We pre-ordered additional menu tray items and a customized mocha cake which I encourage you to do with them directly. Dessert, soda, coffee, tea are also included and if you feel like you need more food during the party, just order more. Don't worry, if you have extra food at the end of the party, you can take it to go. The chairs had nice covers on them, the ambience is cozy enough, the staff helped us with the setup and decorations (which we purchased), and they will do their best to accommodate all your reasonable requests. You can also order wine as you need it. Metered parking is directly in front, but free street parking is available around this residential neighborhood. This place was really a hole in the wall but sometimes you find a diamond in the rough. The hope was to get some authentic Filipino food at a great price. Boy was I disappointed. The food was mediocre at best and there were no descriptions of what anything was so I had to rely on my instincts. (Bad idea) Although the meal was in expensive but it still wasn't worth the price. The pork belly was run-of-the-mill and tasted like a bad version of a Chinese dish. The chicken kebab look great but it was stone cold, the sticky red beef was OK but tasted like beef jerky, and the stir-fried pig ears and hearts tasted good the first few bites but got gamier and gamier as I ate more. I ended up throwing the rest of it away. Unfortunately, the lumpia was cooked perfectly but it had way too little filling and too much wrapper. The rice was overcooked and slightly on the mushy side which is a big no-no when it comes to Asian cooking. It's a pot of rice is not cooked perfectly, it should be thrown out. Rice is inexpensive and not be able to cook rice properly is unacceptable and any asian establishment. Overall, I thought the food was pretty bad and I definitely won't be going back. read more

Simply the most delicious authentic Filipino food I've had in a restaurant. I went with my 3 titas who are all excellent cooks and picky Filipino food eaters. We were all so impressed. We ordered off the menu, but we also had the arroz caldo from the cafeteria side. It was so tasty. The chicken tinola, kare-kare, pancit, leche flan and freshly made biko were outstanding. Every bite was an explosion in my mouth. The staff was also very friendly. While we were first turned away at 7 pm, because the staff were eating and cleaning, they gave in and let us stay after we said we'd go to an Italian place instead. Glad they did let us eat, because now they have new fans. We couldn't stop raving about it. Go eat there. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Ordered the fried bangus and that's the 1 star. Had good flavor. Other than that the food is mediocre at best. Prices are super inflated and the portions are small. Not even the best Filipino restaurants charge this much and I'm filipino so I've eaten at pretty much all of them. During the height of the pandemic I didn't mind the prices because I said fine, let me support. Besides, they're the only filipino restaurant near me that I could order from. But THEN they have the audacity to charge $7.95 for a SMALL piece of cassava cake. SMH. If you're not filipino, THIS IS NOT OKAY. For that price, it should be filled in the size of what the lumpia container is in. They should be ashamed and embarrassed for over charging people like this. This place is divided into two sides: one side is sit down and the other is "cafeteria style". I have eaten at the a la carte side a couple of times. I loved the crispy pata and the barbecue meal; the crispy pata was cooked perfectly. I also had the ampalaya (bitter gourd) with shrimp but found the ampalaya to be undercooked. The portions are big and i found the price reasonable. I also ate at the cafeteria part of the restaurant. The two dishes I got (binagoongan and dinuguan) were tough and needed to be cooked more to tenderize it. I like the taste of the food in this place. They just need to be consistent with the quality. read more
