I really enjoyed the concept of this place! It's a bar/cafe/restaurant with all of the games you can think of! Board games, card games, etc. and from all generations. I didn't know 99% of the games they offered honestly. My friend and I just ended up playing Sorry and Trouble the whole time. To start, I ordered a dirty martini and it wasn't good. I opted for my regular Tito's and tonic afterwards. We ordered the poutine and mini corn dogs to share. Both were good. Now the biggest issue I have with this place is the way they serve you. It is ALL done on your phone. So since we are ordering drinks and food all on our phones, there is no server available to answer questions. This is the first place that I have ever been to that does things this way and it really does take away from the servers in regards to tips and service isn't very good because of it too. I love the idea of this place! I'm a big game person, so this was really cool. Service was good even with how busy they were, food was decent but a little on the pricey side, with no real cheap options. If I was in college, I probably wouldn't eat here due to the pricing. I took a star off because something I absolutely hate is compulsory tipping. I want to determine my own tip, and was not happy when it didn't give me the option to leave a tip, but when I looked at the emailed receipt the next day I saw that they added their own tip. I also don't love the electronic ordering system which I think contributed to the timing of all of our food being really odd, and of course the weird tipping situation as well. Obviously the bad doesn't outweigh the good here for me though, I'd come back if I was in the area, but I might eat a meal elsewhere and just drink and play here. read more

So my group of buddies all scanned their QR codes and started ordering food for the group and it was a lovely feast for the 6 of us. I did feel like the UI of the menu on our phones were a little weird to navigate and there were some issues with some of our friends where they couldn't connect their card to the website at first, but after some time, those issues were taken cared of. We got two fried chicken sandwiches w/fries, 2 servings of Korean BBQ Chicken Poutine, 1 serving of flatbread pizza, 2 servings of soft pretzels, and 1 BLT. The food was great. I couldn't find any complaints from the food. On top of that, I loved the fact that you can play games. It's just $6 per person and you can play any games for the entirety of your stay. Best part is that this place hires people to just explain the rules of the game. So we played Betrayal on a House on a Hill and it was a blast. It was a great bonding experience for all of us and everything was just perfect. After everything was over, we were able to easily split the check on our phones with ease. I didn't try the flatbread, because no meat, but it looked SO good, and from what I hear it is SO good. The spinach dip was very yummy, as well as the mac with fried shrimp. I ordered the cider corps sangin sangria cider and it was tasty. There is a charge of 6 dollars per person which allows you to play as many games as you want. I was so excited to go to this restaurant. We (table for 2) went on a Saturday morning and were seated immediately. Restaurant was about half full. I submitted my order at 10:55 am (via the app you use to order) I didn't receive my drink from the bar until 12:15 and my food at 12:30. When i asked what was happening and asked if i had not submitted my order correctly, i was told they needed to wash dishes. So we waited and waited. Meanwhile three tables were served the mimosa flight that i had also ordered but ordered before them. Once again, i was told they needed to wash dishes because they didn't have any clean glasses for the flights. I just saw them being served... what? My food was okay. My Korean poutine was ice cold by the time i got it. The cheese curds were straight out of the fridge. It took me almost another 30 min before the waitress walked by again so i could tell her but by that time, we needed to go because of plans. We never received refills on water, I wanted ranch but never got the chance to ask for it until it was time to go. We counted 7 tables seated after us that were served, ate, and left while we waited. We were going to a play at 2pm right down the road and thought 2.5 his was more than enough time to grab lunch. Wrong. The game master was nice. The decor is cute. Lots of games to choose from. My only complaint was that they were $15 each and not all that spectacular. Mochas although savory, we're $8 a glass. The inside was spacious with good lighting, and lots of board games. Downside is you have to pay $6 to play them, in addition to food. Overall would give 4 starts, (not 5 for the price and quality) but I give it a 3 because of the bathrooms. It was a slow day but both my male co worker and I (female) said the bathrooms stank. It smelled like urine had been sitting in there a while. I checked and no one had checked on it, I have a list attached. The only way that it would be a 5-star for me is if the food/drinks blew me away. The sweet potato fries that we ordered were almost burnt to a crisp. The mozzarella cheese sticks were cold about 5 minutes on the table. The Arnold Palmer drink was so watery in flavor that it tasted like a water with lemon and a quick splash of tea. Two people in our party ordered fish and chips at different times, one came with tartar sauce, the other didn't, even though both were ordered without modifications. Went to a breakfast spot without cold coffee, so came here after breakfast to try their cold brew flights (so my review may not reflect regular activities at this location). I am a sucker for any type of flight (I love me some variety and not having to make decisions), and a cold brew flight is no different! I loved the flavor of all 4 (classic, vanilla caramel, dirty chai, and s'mores) - the s'mores was by far the most decadent, truly a dessert. I wish the chai had a little more spice than just cinnamon, but it is what it is. Only complaints I have are that 1) the classic which was supposed to be "straight black" according to the menu looked/tasted like it had milk added, and generally, the drinks seemed to be more fixins' and less coffee. Though they had the smoothness of cold brew, the coffee flavor was a little weaker than I expected. Didn't play any games this time, but love the layout and vibe of the place, and how it really is built to facilitate good tabletop gameplay! Areas for improvement is that food and drinks order were really slow. Took like 15 minutes to get chips and salsa (it was good). Not sure if our server had forgotten to place the orders. Also they charge $6 per person to play board game's. I feel like this should be offset by certain amount of bills per person. Snakes and lattes is currently one of the best restaurants and hangout spaces on Mill in Tempe! Sooo many restaurants have closed down and with construction, Mill has been struggling! My boyfriend and I tried to hit Pedal Haus for happy hour on a Wednesday, to be told indoor seating for two would take 15 mins (during summer in July). They lied and it was over an hour before we heard from Pedal again via text. By then, we were sat (right away) inside Snakes, were served cold water right away, and conveniently ordered through the QR code. The food came out so fast and hot! The korean fried chicken poutine was also a nice twist. The sauce was mildly spicy. Not a lot of cheese curds. Again, it was just okay. But of the 3 dishes we tried, I felt it was the best. My friend did fully enjoy her root beer float though. So that is +1. But, cant really screw up a root beer float honestly. It's 2 ingredients. In conclusion. This place is a good place to hang out with friends and play board games. A very fun and young ambiance but the food isn't what you would come for. Also the table we sat at was tiny. There was also another small table on our side where we placed our drinks. We ordered 3 dishes and we had to shuffle our entrees and dishes and drinks around and personal belongings. Great concept but could use some adjustments. Went mid-day on a Monday and lots of tables were open to pick from. I love that they serve a variety of menu items and give you access to lots of board games that are well categorized and clean. You could easily spend many hours here eating, drinking, and playing games, but I'd hesitate to do that give some factors I didn't like. First was being surrounded my fruit flies the entire time and having to constantly swat them away from our food. I understand having a couple Bugs here and there because of the big garage doors to open up the floor plan, but doors were all closed this day and it was unappealing to shoo away flies every few seconds. Second thing that was distasteful was the online tab system suggesting tips starting at 20% and goes up from there. This is not a full service restaurant, you place your own orders on the app. It doesn't make sense to assume a 20% tip off of that. Our orders came out wrong twice, one of our mimosa flights had a different flavor that wasn't on the menu for that specific flight, and we ordered the Korean chicken fries but got no cheese curds on it. Seeing an assumption for a 20% tip after that and the fact that we place our own orders was laughable. Otherwise this is a great date, double date, or group activity indoors in AC during az hot summer. Spent $112 on games for 2, 2 mimosa flights, elote bites, and Korean chicken fries. read more
