Let me start off by saying I had high hopes for this place. I love pizza and customizing it was appealing to me. I'm just going to break my review up in 3 parts: Service- We were the first in line to give our order but stood there for a good 6-7 minutes just waiting for someone to acknowledge our existence. A "hey we'll be with you soon" would have sufficed. After taking our order, there was a large line of people just waiting to pay for their order. It was really unorganized and simply confusing. Food- After waiting a while for our pizzas, they slowly started coming out. I got mine a good 10 minutes before my friends so I waited there awkwardly as my food grew cold. To review the food itself... it was okay. I could have achieved the same results pretty easily by just buying a pre-made crust and making it myself without the hassle of a line and poor service. Price- So you're going to spend anywhere from $8-$12 for a small personal pizza and you're going to wait for it and possibly be very confused by what line you should be in and how to pay. With all of that said, it was an okay experience but I don't think I'll be returning any time soon. If you're into making your own pizza at home... do that and spend the money you save on a hard beverage. read more

One of the best pizzas I have had in State College! Everything is fresh and it's definitely a bargain for the price/size. But the line can get crazy during peak hours! Also, I've come on two separate occasions and was disappointed by their service both times. I ordered a customizable pizza the first time and after the meat, the next girl assumed it was complete and didn't ask if I wanted anything else. When I proceeded to ask her to add other toppings (like veggies which was the next step in this production line), she said it was too late & put my pizza into the oven - it just seemed like I got ripped off since it was technically customizable but she didn't let me customize it or add anything for that matter. The second time I ordered a half & half and right after my pizza was ready, the guy behind the counter proceeded to give my order to another girl (who later came back to complain that it was wrong). Mistakes happen so it was totally fine, but when I went up to tell him, he proceeded to roll his eyes, cuss, and continue to hand out pizzas. It wasn't until another guy came over and said they were going to make a new one ASAP and apologized for the wait. This is a wonderful pizza spot and is my favorite in the area. It is very similar to other make your own pizza places (MOD). But they have very interesting signature pizzas with fresh quality ingredients. For the price and quality of the food it is well worth it and makes it better than other spots in the area. Snap has a pizza very similar to one made by Roberta's in Brooklyn: Hot Little Honey. It's kind of like a margarita pizza with pepperoni and a little bit of spicy honey. I have them put all the pepperoni on one side for my husband. Truly delicious! read more

The staff was very accommodating for gluten allergies! They have two safe crust options for GF: a regular gluten free crust and a cauliflower crust. Upon ordering the GF crust I was asked if it was a preference or an allergy, and upon letting them know it was an allergy they asked if I would like my pizza to be made in a separate kitchen off the normal production line with toppings not yet put out in the line. I was pleased with this suggestion and took them up on the offer for this accommodation. They then asked for what all I would like on the pizza, which was simple to navigate because they have printed menus readily available that indicate what items are GF. It was a great experience and the pizza was very good and rather inexpensive for the size of the pizza and mounds of toppings! I paid around $10 and got two solid meals out of the pizza. This is easily one of the best deals in State College. For $9, you can essentially get a whole pizza topped with whatever you want. If you wanted to get a pizza with every single topping on it, you could probably do that for one flat price. As a college student, that's really appealing. On top of that, the food is good. Super fast, clean, delicious! What more could I want? Oh yeah, my kids loves it too! Little Hot Honey (spicy pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, and honey) was spicy delicious, Sweet Low and Slow was awesome (pepperoni, sausage, and meatball). Other kiddos loved their plain cheese and pepperoni pizzas. Drinks are a pure cane sugar no high fructose corn syrup. The watermelon cream soda was weird but yummy, skinny root beer was pretty good too. Kids liked honey lemonade and mango lemonade. This will be a regular pizza stop for us for a quick lunch or dinner when everyone wants something different. They also had salads and bowls but we didn't try. Toppings looked yummy though. When I originally heard we were getting yet another pizza place on College Ave I had my doubts. I'm really glad I was proven wrong. Snap is definitely a much needed addition to State College with all the fresh ingredients and options they offer. I also really love that the custom pizza is only $1 more than the pre designed options. The line gets pretty long when the main semesters are in swing but that just shows how good this place is. Plus, you learn to get there at the right times to avoid the crowd. ;] My only complaint is that they seem to have changed the honey that they use on the Hot Little Honey. That used to be my favorite but since the change (the honey tastes more like an orange blossom base instead of the wildflower or clove it used it be) I've changed my favorite to the Sweet and Slow. Yum! Great personal sized gourmet pizzas. $8-$10 each. Kind of like going to chopped: you order a staple on the menu, or you customize what you want. We got the Kennett Square and the Mexique. Both were delicious! High quality cheeses, goat, ricotta, mozzarella, feta... Fountain drinks were with natural sugar and unique flavors. Snaps has always been busy when I visit State College, and on Saturday I finally decided to try it out. I had the Mac and Cheese pizza, which was filling and delicious. I also tried my friends Margherita Pizza, which was a fresher, lighter option. Also, my other table mate was very impressed with the gluten free option, saying it was well worth the slightly higher price. My only detractor was the odd selection of lemonades and fountain drinks. I'm sure they're much healthier than the normal options, but the taste just wasn't for me. Overall, I'd recommend Snaps for the quick service and multitude of options - just bring your own drink. read more

This is the second time that we have preordered our pizzas during their signature special night. The first time we had to wait an hour to get our pizzas that were preordered 1 hour prior to our arrival. Yes, they said they were sorry but that was it. Tonight we placed the order for 2 pizzas at 4:48 for a 7:30 pickup. We arrived at 7:30 to be told they were behind and would probably have to wait an extra 1/2 hour. We finally did get our pizzas at 9:10. Why would a company allow online orders to inundate a store? Unfair to the hard working employees and a horrible representation of good customer service. Snap used to be a go-to with celiac. They would prepare the pizza in the back with separate ingredients and even had a separate oven to cook them in. Never once did I get sick from eating there. Today when I went, I was told they changed their protocol and no longer accommodate gluten allergies. They have a sign up that says people with gluten sensitivities should taken caution, but from my previous experience I didn't think much of it. I waited in line for 15 minutes for them to start making my pizza, only to realize they used the same knife to spread their butter sauce that they do with the regular pizzas. This might not seem like an issue, however that directly puts gluten onto the gluten free pizza. Just making it clear that anyone with celiac or a severe allergy should not eat here anymore. read more

Best personalized pizza in State College. The food selection and quality are amazing. I especially enjoyed the house made mozzarella cheese and the balsamic syrup. The balsamic has a little kick but not too much, and it adds great flavor. The only downside is that the line is very long during peak hours, but with the good food, it's definitely easy to understand why. My only suggestion is go away from peak time, and it's definitely worth the price. I highly recommend this place. BAD service. Employees were being extremely disrespectful!!! I ordered a Mac and Cheese and she heard me wrong, ended up giving me a wrong one after I paid. I told them that was not the one I ordered. She held up the pizza and said to me: this one is called xxx (which I don't know the name), the one that you wanted with pasta on it is called Mac and Cheese. A friend brought me here because I was looking for some quality pizza. Finally found some of the best in State College. I made a personal custom pizza, although they do have signature personal pizzas which sounded delicious. You get a good sized pizza for about $8 and their attention to detail was impressive. My friend's pizza wasn't big enough at first and mine didn't have enough sauce. Coworkers stepped in and corrected our orders which was nice because we didn't have to complain, they expect each order to live up to their standard which is very high. They seemed to have plenty of options other than a typical pizza, including: gluten free, vegetarian, and salads. Also a big plus here was that their drink options included healthier sodas and refreshing lemonade and lemonade like drinks. What is the point of offering online pick up if it would be faster just waiting in the line? Maybe hire others than lazy college students who don't want to be there. We decided to stop by and check this place out on a Monday at lunch time. We got there just before noon and it was pretty quiet, but by time we left around 12:30 there was a huge line and it was packed, just a warning. But it's popular for good reason! I'm vegan and from looking at the menu, figured even without cheese they had enough veggie toppings that I'd enjoy my pizza. But when I ordered without cheese, they let me know that they have Daiya vegan cheese even though it's off menu, so I got to have cheese on my pizza anyways! I got the spicy sauce (surprisingly spicy!) and chickpeas, olives, artichoke hearts, and mushrooms. A lot of the veggies are already cooked and seasoned which is really nice because I'm not crazy about partially raw or flavorless veggies on pizza. The pizza was done before I even finished paying and it was delicious! My husband got his with pesto, house made mozzarella, spicy pepperoni, sweet sausage, and spinach and he loved it, especially the house made mozzarella. I really enjoy Snap pizza. Curbside pick up is easy. Love that they have gluten free options too. My son has celiac and they are always very accommodating about taking precautions to avoid cross-contamination. My only issue is that they don't spread out the cheese (or put enough on) sometimes. The most recent gluten free pizza I got for my son had an almost 2 inch border with no cheese. When I'm paying $9 for a pizza and the literal ONLY topping is cheese, I expect it to cover more of the pizza.
