This little gem in Old Katy knows how to make breakfast for champions...as demonstrated by all of the Katy football paraphernalia on the walls. Perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, sweet pancakes, maple syrup, yummy hash browns, and warm toast are all dished up quick, hot, and with a smile at Snappy's. I am not a coffee drinker so I cannot speak to the quality of that, but I will say that the hot tea is gross and the orange juice is even worse. Anytime a restaurant says they have OJ and really has Tang I get a little annoyed. Not the same thing. read more

Looking for the old counter-top places that have been replaced on Kirby, Shepherd, Washington and even Telephone avenue like the Pig Stand for breakfast? You may have to drive a few miles but Snappy's will make you think of your grandparents or at least the past. Worth the drive from the Galleria to Old Katy - I think so. Owned by Greeks, it is good but the new find Texas Tradition is better. Snappy's is cheaper and has adequate Greek food. The waitstaff and prices at Snappy's are better. When you can't get into Texas Tradition - try Snappy's. read more

Breakfast is easily my favorite meal to eat out unless, of course, someone else makes it at home. There is just something about the grease in the kitchen and the whole house smelling like bacon and syrup all day that I like to try to avoid. At Snappy's I was expecting fresh, homemade, whole food breakfast that is typical of the 'greasy spoon'. What I received instead was orange drink (Sunny Delight) for the price of orange juice, previously frozen, deep fried meat, artificial creamer and margarine all served lukewarm with an attitude. It was uncomfortably hot and smoky and the staff was incredibly defensive and arrogant. When I asked the manager to remove the Sunny Delight from our table and our bill he readily admitted he was serving Sunny Delight in place of orange juice and promptly did so. When I mentioned the previously frozen food he was not so nice or accommodating. I am a proponent of supporting small community businesses but the breakfast choices in Katy are somewhat limited. Going forward I will happily drive from Katy to Frank's on Westheimer or Hwy 6 for a delicious homemade breakfast. read more

Just went to Snappys for the first time today. Food was really great, loved the down home atmosphere, waitress was awesome! HATED THE CIGARETTE SMOKE!!!! We were asked for smoking or non smoking table, we said non and we noticed most of the customers were asking for non as well. The smoking section only had a few people at it, the non smoking was full. The employees had a table at the edge of the smoking section - one table over from the non-smoking. There was an employee continually smoking the whole time we were there. I left smelling like an ashtray and with a scratchy throat. Owner/management needs to realize that most people don't like smoking. Majority of people in there were non-smokers. The employees were the main people smoking. Shouldn't employees be smoking somewhere else? Will never go back unless I get something to go. read more

1st time here and also last time. Cigarette smoke awful. Must be a new cook in the kitchen as most of our food was over cooked & burnt. Our 3 year old received a waffle that was obviously burnt, when he put syrup on it and couldn't even get a fork or knife into it, he decide to pound the table with it like a hammer. French Toast, scrambled eggs, hash browns & bacon were all over cooked. Order was also incomplete and when we mentioned not receiving what we asked for that was clearly on the ticket there was not a logical response. read more

Everyone can calm down now, smoking has ceased, lol. Still, you can tell this place had a good run in with cigarettes based on the tar coating visible on the ceiling and the lingering "old bowling alley" smell. Kinda brought me back to my younger years when smoking was allowed anywhere. Upon arrival, we stood waiting for acknowledgement for a good minute or two before the owner finally asked how many. I don't get a warm feeling from this guy. The portions were huge and the prices were just fine. Food came out a little cooler than I like it, but not too bad. Wish the coffee had a bit more flavor. Like others have mentioned, they serve Sunny D in place of orange juice. Really? A place that relies primarily on breakfast diners should serve up some real OJ, especially in an old farm town like Katy. When leaving I stood for another 2 minutes at the register alone waiting to pay as the owner filled pitchers with drink. Our waitress finally saw us and came to check us out. We will be back to give it another chance, but really think customers coming and going should receive a little more attention. read more

We went there one time for lunch I had the CFS and a friend had a burger. The burger came out raw in the center, still cool type of raw. When we brought this up to the waitress her attitude was terrible. She said "you have already cut it and took a bite of it what am I supposed to do" we immediately asked for our check, they didn't give any discount, so we paid no tip and left. I love snappys! The staff has been wonderful and these girls know how throw down! They take orders and sling em like they were military trained. I've met bobby multiple times and how he keeps a smile on his face doing this job day in and out is a mystery to me. Yes, they allow smoking. If you aren't a whiny drama queen from California you'll get over it. Most Greek style diners and small hometown restaurants in the country are the same way. You'll get more fumes in your body sitting in traffic. This is the only Greek style breakfast diner around and they are fantastic. Keep up the amazing and efficient work! read more

I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Chicken was ok nothing special, but a Caesar salad should have the dressing mixed in and not poured (heavily) on top of the iceberg lettuce - and for $10.00?? Oh - AND STOP SMOKING!!! read more

We are truck drivers and were stopped in Katy overnight. Decided to go for breakfast and we were NOT disappointed! Place was busy on a Sunday morning (which is always a good sign). We waited about 10 mins to be seated. Our food came out quickly. It was fresh and hot. Service was amazing! Everyone was super friendly! Never had to ask for a refill on coffee or drinks as they came around constantly refreshing our cups. So glad we decided to venture out for breakfast and not eat at the truck stop. As we left, the line to get in was down the sidewalk. If we stop thru Katy again, we will definitely come back here. read more

We go here just about every weekend for breakfast, sometimes during the week too. Love the staff and the prices are good. The ambience is regular diner in downtown Old Katy. The food is basic breakfast/burgers and sandwiches/a few set lunch items plus there's lots of it. Lots of regulars and we love the place. read more

Omg! Who doesn't love Snappy's! The environment is wonderful and the food is amazing! Has a nice comforting environment to match the comfort food that is served. Every time I take a bite, I can taste LOVE in this food! I love the southern hospitality waitresses that continue to walk by with their coffee pot in hand checking to make sure our cups aren't empty. This place is a time warp! Think small town café or small town truck stop. The menu was diverse and the food was good. People were friendly. They do have smoking in the restaurant, so be advised. The day we went, the local high school band stopped by and played in the parking lot. The owner was happy to let them pass the bucket around to raise $$$ to support the HS band. I really don't get what is so good here. The pancakes were kinda bland even with syrup and the pricing was a bit high. I ordered orange juice and they brought out what tasted to be sunny d. If I wanted fake orange juice I would've saved my money. The waitresses were very nice but I still don't think we will be visiting again. Real orange juice or none!!! read more

For a great American breakfast Snappy is the best in Katy. My favorite has to be the biscuits and sausage gravy. The service is excellent all the waitress help each other out and it's not just one waitress to a table like most places. The place is a bit small but comfortable. read more

First time here. Very busy for a mid morning on a Wednesday. You sit where you want all open tables no booths. Extensive afforable menu. I got the breakfast special with eggs, homefries and toast. My husband got the special which included coffee and juice. His had two kinds of meat, he took all bacon, pancakes and hash browns with his eggs. The food was good the service was a little slow in the beginning but they ended up with a rush after we sat down. Inexpensive and definetly a place we will be returning to read more

Snappys is a great Breakfast and lunch spot and locals favorite. The proprietor is Greek so Customer Service is excellent . Saturday groups and Sunday church crowds usually fill it up but it's worth the wait in my opinion if you are patient. read more

We do not live in Katy, but I have relatives who do. They recommended Snappy's to us for breakfast after spending the night once, and we found breakfast there to be excellent. We were on our way out of Houston for a Hill Country getaway, and it was lunchtime, so my wife suggested we stop at Snappy's again for lunch. I had the gyro plate while my wife had the Greek omelet. Both were very good, if a little pricey. After ordering our food and eating we noticed that there were several lunch specials in steam trays by the door which we were not told about by our waitress. After paying the bill we looked at the lunch specials and they appeared to be yummy. So, only 4 stars for waitstaff not informing us about the lunch specials. read more

Service was excellent. Your coffee cup is never empty and the coffee is good! Some items have typical Texas (read: huge) portion sizes but there is something for everyone's taste and appetite. My only complaint was that my eggs were not even close to over-medium (more like over-light) but I didn't say anything so that's on me. I would definitely go back! read more
