Great little restaurant that's been in business for many years. A community staple. Great menu options for breakfast and brunch. The food is always consistent and tasty. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is on the small side so you have to "get in where you fit in" or wait a little bit and get to know your neighbors because the seating is tight, but this is a good thing because you make new friends every time you go. Definitely a hidden gem. read more

Good food for a neighborhood place. For the location and the style of restaurant, I'd give it 5 stars. It's a busy spot but they do a great job getting you seated quickly. The restaurant has an older charm but it's definitely worth a visit. The food is inexpensive, the portions are generous a bit bland however overall it's a solid choice for a satisfying meal. read more

This is one of those hidden gems that the locals hide from you. Thank goodness my kids are locals!!! The inside of the place was of medium size but was packed with hungry people that seem to enjoy the big selection and massive menu, oddly enough, most people already knew what they wanted .. lololol.. the service was phenomenal- it seemed like only minutes before we were served . I can't say enough good things about this place except I wish they would open a restaurant near me !!! 1300 miles from Texas ! Even the bathroom left me with a smile . This local 'diner' serves up an all sorts of breakfast delights and some really really great lunch specials!! I was craving lunch and the husband was craving breakfast!! Perfect spot for us both. Was in town for training and got out for lunch. Needed something that I could eat while on the Carnivour diet and didn't want bbq again. Looked this place up in yelp and looked pretty promising. Walked in and was greeted immediately and told to sit where ever. I got a water and looked over the menu. The menu looked OK then I saw the keto breakfast and was Like YES! Asked tge waitress if they sold steaks and she said they had just taken the ribeye off the menu DANG! Anyway ordered the keto breakfast told her to keep the tomatoes and add another egg Sunnyside up. It came out pretty quick 4 eggs 2 beacon 2 sausage links and a piece of ham all for I think under 16 bucks Eggs were cooked correctly, bacon was crispy, sausage links were tasty l and ham was great. My husband first me to Snappy's when we first started dating in 2017. Since then we tend to go there at least a few times a month. Now my MIL and her friends tend to go there too. And the waitresses know my MIL and her friend. My hubby and I went there last Thursday and we had great service as always. Ashley was our waitress and I called to ask my MIL if she wanted anything for breakfast and she loves the coffee so that was first on her list and then she wanted to know the soup of the day. Which Ashley was so nice to tell me and that was a definite yes for 3 bowls of their broccoli cheddar soup. Of course since we were there for breakfast that wasn't available yet. I asked if I could order 3 bowls to be picked up that afternoon. And the answer was of course and also I was allowed to pay for it in advance so it could be a treat for my MIL and my daughter and myself in the afternoon. When ,u MIL went to pick it up Ashley said that she had everything for her and it was paid for so it was super fast and great service. The food is always very well prepared and tastes delicious. If you want a good old fashioned hearty breakfast, Snappys is the place to go! This is a hidden gem in Katy, I take all my out of town guests here before a day of site seeing. Friendly staff, quick service and good & plentiful food at a reasonable price. Only down side is sometimes there's a wait but even then it's worth it. read more

Cute old school diner with decent food. I got 2 eggs with sausage links, proper meal. Toast wasn't hot enough so butter never truly melted and I was chomping away on cluster of butter. I did get to substitute with french fries ... but never got to them. It's a good amount of food with average price. Did also get coffee, diner style. love the mugs! Cute little diner. The service is great. They are incredibly efficient in there. The servers all seem like they've worked there forever adding a cozy home feel and vibes to the place. We love our local breakfast spot. The staff is always so sweet and as a parent I really appreciate they wipe down the high chairs. This is 5 star diner food. We went and there was a line to get in. Most places it would be a hour wait, however it was 20 minutes. Service was what's expected at a diner. Soon as we sat they took drink orders and food orders. Ten minutes later we had hot smoking food on the table. All of our food was very good. It could have been a bit more fluff on the pancakes but they were still good. Would definitely go back. read more

We were staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Katy after a Saturday night early Halloween party, and we wanted breakfast. Snappy's was the first place on Yelp, and it was fantastic. It was very crowded, and we found out why when we got our meals. From the eggs to the bacon to the hash browns to the biscuits and gravy, it was one of the best breakfast meals I have ever had. It has that awesome local diner feel and atmosphere, and we loved it. If we lived in the area, we would be there every week. read more

For starters the service was great!! As soon as we were seated we were asked our drink order. Once we ordered, the food came out extremely fast and was very fresh. We've been coming to Snappy's for years, and for years it's been epically average. Good service and okay food. This restaurant has been an Old Katy staple for decades. It's outlasted many chain restaurants and will most likely continue to do so as long as the new owners stay on track. The staff is always friendly, but faces change about every year or so, which is sort of what you expect with most restaurants. There is almost always a wait regardless of what time you show up. There's never been enough room, but we make it work. All that said, I'll continue eat at Snappy's as long as they're around. While their food isn't gourmet, it's very homely as is the ambiance. read more

An institution in Old Town Katy (Hwy. 90) for breakfast and lunch. I had been there years ago before going dove hunting and remember it being good. I took the wife recently (early December '24) wanting something that was not a chain restaurant for lunch and was happy. Food was good. Got my cholesterol up (LOL!) so that'll give my Dr. something to complain about. Only knock is the wait service was kinda slow, as there were only 2-3 ladies waiting on all the tables, however they were sweet and we weren't in a hurry. We'll be back. read more

I'm new to the area, did a google search for "breakfast near me" and this gem came up in the results. I was not disappointed. I ordered the two eggs with country fried chicken, hashbrowns, and toast. I ordered in person for take out. The customer service was excellent and the inside of the cafe was very cute and clean. Order came out quickly! They were pretty busy for so early on a Saturday morning but when I got home and tasted my breakfast, I understood why!!! Everything was so delicious and fresh! That was the juiciest chicken breast I've ever tasted with perfectly crisp and crunchy batter or crust. The gravy was so good! They made my eggs and hashbrowns just how I ordered them. 5 stars all around! This will be my go-to weekend breakfast joint from here on out when I don't feel like cooking at the house. read more

Delicious breakfast with large portions. Everything is wonderful (pancakes, hash browns, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, grits, coffee, OJ). Classic American greasy spoon diner. So freaking fantastic. They even make scrumptious cakes and pies! Never been here for lunch, but I would bet the farm it's great. Salads, sandwiches, burgers, French fries, onion rings.... you can't go wrong. I don't mean to sound racist or presumptive, but I'll go ahead. Pro tip: if you're ever traveling and see a restaurant with a Greek flag or name - go there! You will not be disappointed. Greeks can freakin' cook! They are masters of the flat top grill. Good-looking people too, and smart. Stereotyping is usually wrong. My experience though is they always cook up good food whether it's a diner or Greek food or Burger joint and sometimes even BBQ. They know their shittikkii. Snappy's is definitely the best diner in Katy, TX and maybe the whole greater Houston area. Can't think of a better one. read more

Today i came in & ordered fried catfish ( which was too die for) eggs hash browns & toast! i love having catfish for breakfast & when i say they delivered! they got me right. it can get crowded in there very quickly so don't hesitate about ever going. you get a good amount for a great price! i'm not sure if they had music playing i was watching netflix since i was alone, but the ambiance is very welcoming! read more

Snappy's Restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat, down home breakfast. Lunch menu is excellent and everything I've had on 3 visits is outstanding. Old school diner. Snappy's is a Katy icon. Been there forever. Food is just good, makes you feel like home. They have new owners and glad to not notice changes. My only complaint is the menu. There are so many local ads that the food gets lost amongst them. But that certainly ain't a deal breaker for me. read more

They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. Every burger is served on a brioche bun and it was perfect. They came with fresh french fries that were seasoned perfectly. Our server was super friendly and answered any question that we had and she was very attentive. She also offered us to go drinks and we really appreciated that. The restaurant was crowded, but you did not realize it because the service that you were provided was top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant for anybody who wants a good meal at a great price. Their menu has also grown a little bit and the choices are unlimited. I am so glad that we chose to go to Texas borders yesterday and I will be back really soon. But again, for $97, you expect more than 2 avg size leg quarters and a full plate of rice. Dessert: They were out of key lime pie by noon. I saw the cheesecake, it was a thin plain slice, so we opted for their seis leches cake. It was not good. It was not soaked enough, very dry. The reason the score wasn't lower was because service was great, the entrees tasted great and they gave each mother a single rose and Mother's Day card which had a pin in it that said best mom ever. Which made my wife's day even that much better. Thank you Chef Casey. But I don't think I would visit again solely based on the deceiving menu and small portions that are not worth the additional cost.

Table of 4, waiter addressed us after about 10 minutes, got obviously upset when he figured out we weren't drinking alcohol, treated us poorly the entire rest of the visit (when he actually deigned to stop by). Ordered "hand battered" pickles, which is a lie, these came directly out of the freezer, had absolutely no flavor at all, and were not served with the dressing specified on the menu. He literally dropped them and ran. I had to go the service counter to get us napkins so we could try the food, and we had to flag him down to ask for the accompaniment. When confronted, he literally said "it doesn't come with anything", we replied that the menu said it did, and he insisted that he was correct. So, he was asked for ranch dressing (which is what the menu states was supposed to be served with it), and he stated, "oh, we don't have any of that, we've been out for weeks". REALLY? He just decided he didn't like us, so he treated us like crap. Burger ordered, listed on menu as 1/2 lb., might have been 5 ounces maximum and had no flavor at all. All of just picked at our food, because it was all just sad. In addition, meals that came with fries had the fries served almost 10 minutes after the meals. Saving grace, they were hot and well seasoned, so we finally had something we could all share to eat, but had to fight to get ketchup for those that wanted it. Would most definitely NOT recommend for any reason at all.
