Bacon and eggs, easy enough to make at home. Why would you with Snappy's around? No mess, no fuss. You will not miss cleaning up the bacon splatters. Not only does Snappy's get my overeasy eggs perfect everytime, they alwasy do it with a smile. They offer many good choices for breakfast at a great value. The service is prompt, attentive and friendly. If you don't like attention then you might not want to go here though. It's not a bar and everyone doesn't say "Hi Norm" but when you walk in most look up and acknowledge your presence at some level. Some even offer the "pez" head move if they have seen you in there before. i enjoy meeting my friends here for a quick bite or a leisurely conversation solving all the worlds problems. Why not more stars? Well, I can't take my wife there to enjoy breakfast because of her aversion to smoke. I also tend to reserve a 5 star rating for those special date night places. read more

I love coming here for breakfast! The food and service are both awesome. They do a good job of keeping your coffee cup full. My favorite plate is the Complete Breakfast. It comes with two sausage links, two strips of bacon, two eggs, two pancakes, hash browns, coffee, and orange juice. All for $8.99. They also have excellent Greek food. For lunch, I get the Gyro plate with a Greek salad - both of which are yummy. The wife likes the Greek omelet. A nice downhome, cozy, and no-frills atmosphere!! read more

i would love to give snappy's 5 stars, but the cigarette smoking still bothers me. but their food is always great, and service is attentive. today, i got the chicken souvlaki and the pita was perfectly crisp yet chewy and the chicken was grilled to perfection. the tzatziki sauce could've had more kick, but overall it was a great value at $4.75. i will definitely return, being sure to wear clothes that i can throw in the washer afterwards. even though there's sorta cigarette ventilation, i still feel smoky :( read more

100% recommend this place! The food and service are ALWAYS ON POINT!! Serving breakfast and lunch daily, I would nit miss a thing on the menu. The breakfast for two is always my fave! Four eggs (anyway you like, 2 pancakes, 2 French toast, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 pieces of sausage to round it out! I would also be remiss in not mentioning the biscuits and gravy (with sausage)!! Look, I've read some of the negative reviews and yes I actually agree with a lot of the fair critiques on the food. It's a standard family run diner primarily for breakfast. The food won't blow you away but it more than meets expectations. Portions are substantial and the pancakes are huge and fluffy. It's a local Greek family who has served and been loved by the community for years. Customers are mainly locals, churches, responders, and the Katy like. It's a welcoming family friendly small town ambiance with good food and sometimes that's what you need some days. read more

You know that place that they all used to meet up at and have breakfast and talk about politics in a civilized manner and agree to continue working as hard as they always did? That is this place, great breakfast very hearty and at a great price. The menu is mostly breakfast but is owned by some great Greek folks. I have been here plenty of times to get food and it has been good I never got out the car to pay because it's nothing but white racist people in their but today the nice waiter couldn't come out so I went in to pay when I went in all the white people where looking at me weird like they never seen a black person before , the waiters were nice and this one dude who helped me to my car was nice but the man who was at the register for check out snatched the money out my hand and was like have a good day , when I get outside I left my dog in the car for less than 5 min because how am I supposed to carry my food and my dog at the same time so I left her in the car for less than 5 min the old white ladies and white man were outside like why would you leave you dog in the car yelling at me I just didn't say anything because I didn't want to cause any problems but from the time I walked in because I was black their costumers had a problem . Very nice wait staff, but terrible food. I ordered the gyro - yes, it's not a "Greek" restaurant...but the waitress told me the owners were Greek and the gyro was really good. She apparently has never had good gyro and cucumber sauce. It was just gross. I did not want fries...so I ordered mash potatoes...seemed like a mom and pop place. Total box mash potatoes...chalky and just more gross food. See pictures. My boyfriend ordered bacon cheese burger with onion rings...no bacon. No biggie, but the onion rings tasted like the oil or battery was bad. Will not be going back there again. The restaurant was packed and may be they are only good at a very limited number of items on the menu or may be the fine people of Old Town Katy don't venture out far enough to taste good food. read more

Went there with two others. One ordered an omelet with cheese, it came out without cheese; went back to the cook. Then came back out with bag bought shredded cheese on it, not even melted. The waitress asked if he wanted it microwaved! What the F? He wanted it done right since no sausage was put in it. Waitress tells the cook four times to make a new one, the same thing comes back a few minutes later. The cook and staff, even after being confronted see nothing wrong with what they did! A simple meal gone wrong and they don't care. I ordered toast, it came to me not even slightly browned and cold. So avoid this terrible place. What is it with Huston and the lack of good places to eat? Doesn't anyone out here care about what they put on a plate? Doesn't anyone care about making great food, not just crappy 'snappy' food? For all the talk about TX I am very... saddened that this is the 'norm' here or anywhere. read more

Had the pleasure of eating at Snappy's for lunch and I want to go back tomorrow and the day after too! Did the hot meal buffet. Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, black eyed peas, and brussel sprouts with roll. Omgosh- the food was like your mom cooked the whole meal! Tasty, tasty, tasty!!! I'm still thinking how amazing my lunch was today. I cannot wait to go back and it will be this week!!! Going to try the lemon chicken next with a side of chicken noodle soup that looked so yummy!! This place was new to me so we decided to try it and when I got there it was a small wait, but that didn't matter. The line quickly moved and before we knew it we have our seats ready. I like trying new things and this place was a good choice for breakfast. They're coffee was good the food was amazing. The service was perfect didn't have to ask for coffee once. The only drawback was they didn't have orange juice, but they offer sunny D. Other than that this place was excellent, omg they're bacon was so crispy the eggs were on point. During covid this place remained open and no one wore masks, it was a zest pool of germs, if you want covid go there. so packed like a can of sardines. If the hubby and I manage to roll out of bed and get our act together before noon, we try to make it to Snappy's on Saturday (they close at 3pm) , and once on Sunday too (they close at 2pm). This is a diner in a strip center, off of Old Katy's main drag. They can still smoke in here (for you smokers) so when we get there, we sit by the door at the counter. Here's how it goes: Me: eggs over medium (which I didn't even know that was what it was called until my waitress expressed her disgust in runny whites, toast, bacon and grits. Good old grits. Now, I just discovered grits and I guess having parents from the frozen north, grits never made it to my table. I had them here the first time in my life and the first time was so interesting. I love food and I really love the consistency of food, and grits, boiled in water and finished with a pinch of salt and some butter, are just plain interesting on the tongue. They are smooth but squishy. Salty but mild. I soon discovered that a little extra salt mixed in really makes a difference. Hubby: eggs scrambled well, bacon extra crisp and toast. And you know what, they butter the dam toast the way it should be. No big globs of cold butter sticking to the toast, but buttered toast. Perfect for sopping up runny egg yolk. One more thing, the waitresses (no waiters) are very old Katy. Snappy's t-shirts and capri's and I don't think a single one of them doesn't have a lower back (in kind words) tattoo that you see ever time they're grabbing the coffee pot. It makes for good conversation, that's for sure. read more
