I have a pair of shoes to which I have a considerable sentimental attachment, and I entrusted them to Culver Shoe Repair. The result was outstanding. They came back looking as good as new--and, if memory serves me correctly, actually feeling better than new. That alone would have been enough to earn my recommendation. My experience with a suitcase, however, is what prompted me to write this review. The suitcase was a birthday gift from my wife several years ago, so it, too, has sentimental value to me. When I brought it in for a handle repair, Culver Shoe Repair was completely upfront: this particular type of work isn't done in-house, but is sent to a third party. The repair was completed within the promised timeframe, but unfortunately, the handle broke again only a few days after I picked up the suitcase. Things happen. Repairs fail. What matters to me is what happens next. I contacted Culver Shoe Repair and asked how we should proceed. There was no argument, no attempt to shift responsibility to the outside repair service, and no runaround. I was immediately offered a repair at no charge, along with an apology. No further questions asked. I picked up the suitcase today, and everything appears to be exactly as it should be. That, to me, is excellent customer service. It is easy for a business to look good when everything goes according to plan. You learn much more about a business when something doesn't--and Culver Shoe Repair handled this exactly the way I would hope a reputable business would. For shoe repair, I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere. And after this experience, I also feel confident using them for any of the other services they offer. Excellent workmanship, honest communication, and--perhaps most importantly--a business that stands behind the work entrusted to them. Culver Shoe Repair has earned my confidence and my recommendation.

My shoes were completely scuffed up and the nonslip lining I had done somewhere else was falling off. They cleaned up my shoes really nicely and refinished the leather so now my shoes look new! And I learned my lesson-now I'll get the nonslip lining there as well next time. Service was quick and reasonably priced. I previously had them completely repair a pair of patent leather heels when the heel of my shoe got stuck in a grate. They ordered the leather direct from Louboutin and re-wrapped the heel. However, marking up alteration prices by approximately 50%-60% is simply not acceptable. Unless I receive some type of credit or adjustment from the owner, unfortunately, I will not be using their services again.
