I ordered a classic halo-halo (mix mix when translated to English) with ube ice cream. So Halo-Halo (pronounced as HALLO- HALLO) is a traditional Filipino dessert. Classically made of crushed ice and condensed milk with flan, sweetened jellies, Candied yams and or bananas and beans in the inside and topped with any ice cream you want. This was my first boba experience in the San Diego area. The place was easy to find and parking looked like it could be a challenge at busy times of the day- however, I lucked out and found parking right away. I walked in and was greeted with a smile. What the lady behind the counter didn't know, today was my birthday. I asked her for a second as I quickly reviewed the menu and then placed my order. She was kind and courteous. After placing my order, she asked me to wait outside. I welcomed this as I love being in the warmth of the sun. There were benches and a bar to sit at. Halo halo stands on its own and is definitely worth a try. Especially with the heat wave. Tip: Try to order ahead. The wait with 5 parties deep was over 30 minutes. Snoice has a wide variety of desserts. We ordered matcha shaved ice with add ons (strawberries, wafers, and motchi) and Thai Iced tea. The shaved ice was good, my wife wasn't a fan. For the size, you can get a small or medium. Medium is good enough to share and add ons are .50 each. I wasn't a fan of the boba. It tasted over cooked and the Thai iced tea wasn't really mixed well and gave an off flavoring. My biggest problem was that it was attached to a bakery. Although I love my Filipino bakeries, I was not prepared to have it attached to Snoice. I didn't like the fact that we left smelling like fresh pan De sal. We get drinks just about every week - since there's 3 of us, we have an easy rotation and we all know each other's order (although when I go, I love trying new things so my order varies!) Any time one of us goes, we always get 3 drinks! My roommate always gets the classic milk tea with boba and my boyfriend gets the Thai tea with boba. Boba is so good here, so it's a must! I try to try a new drink every time I come here- although my favorites are both the joker/island breeze and the ube/taro blend! In a pinch, I will get the Thai tea as backup. I don't know if my last review will still show but this is an update from my last bad experience. Most of the time I've never had a bad experience or service here. The stars I gave was definitely not deserved especially if it ruins the business's credits for what really matters, the product. Honestly as much as I've been here, its either a hit or miss with service. Most of the time they're really good with service. I never stay to dine-in, so I can't speak upon the vibe that it gives while there. The guys that are there are really nice& offers tasty option choices when I'm being indecisive. I've tried the mango and honeydew flavors, and both are tasty with all-natural flavors! I like the boba topping with any shaved snow, and fresh coconut topping with the honeydew shaved snow. I've tried the shaved snow on both a plate and in a cup. The plate makes the snow look presentable, while the cup makes drinking melted shaved snow in the end easier. The halo halo does not disappoint as well. Anyone can customize their halo halo here for just a buck more! Your halo halo can be as healthy or as decadent as you want. It hit the spot. It's not the best. Kuya Jhon Snow reminded me that. It looked aesthetic but there wasn't much flavor to it. It was pretty bland and the mochi toppings really helped give it some flavor. The only redeemable item was the Ube One Blendobi. It was an Oreo-Ube milkshake. Aside from the original milk snow ice, you can choose flavors including: mango, strawberry, matcha, chocolate, thai tea, ube, etc. They also have a ton of different toppings to select from including mochi, fresh fruit, gummy bears, sprinkles, and cereal toppings. I've been here a few times now and it's pretty cool. I've tried their halo-halo (delicious), some milk teas (tasty) with boba, and now their ice cream. Staff is always friendly, and the place can get busy at times, but the drinks never take too long. My last visit I got a milk tea, and 2 scoops of ice cream (jackfruit, avocado) which they surprisingly (and generously) made into 4 scoops, leaving me so full afterwards.
