This was my first time ever at Dumser's Dairyland on a beautiful Saturday evening in mid-May. My…read moremom suggested we grab ice cream and bring back a sundae for my dad for his birthday. We arrived around 7:30pm and the lines were fairly long. I figured I could browse the menu while in line and would be ready to order when the time came. Well, I was wrong. The line moved incredibly quickly. I went with a basic chocolate and vanilla swirl with hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry. I felt like before I could even finish ordering I was being handed my sundae! Portions were large and the ice cream was very good. After we finished, my mom got back in line to order my dad's sundae with hot fudge, whipped cream, and his favorite topping, wet walnuts. Once again the line only took a few minutes. We got his sundae home only to find out they forgot his wet walnuts. Even without the wet walnuts the sundaes were a hit! Large portions, great ice cream, and a classic shore-town ice cream stand vibe. We'll definitely be back during our next stay in Berlin.

It wasn't just giving direction, it came across as embarrassing and uncomfortable to watch; even comparable to downright bullying. Constructive feedback is important, but it should be done respectfully and when possible in private, but instead she openly berated them in front of customers as well as each other. The employees were doing their best, and the atmosphere would have been much more welcoming without that dynamic. I'd happily come back for the ice cream, but I hope the management style improves for the sake of both the staff and the customer experience. Hopefully this brings attention to the right people so it can be addressed on behalf of the staff.

I thought driving down to this end of the island would be chaotic, but it wasn't at all... even on a Friday night. I street parked right outside. Dumser's sells an outstanding soft serve product. In comparing it to other premium boardwalk soft serve ice creams from OC all the way up the Jersey shore, they're definitely one of my favorites. There's something about their ice cream that had me eating it slowly, savoring it, and it wasn't even melting away on me. Each lick tasted so creamy that I just didn't need to scarf it down fast. Plus, their prices are quite reasonable too. About this location specifically, it has plenty of tables inside to sit down.
