Unfortunately, you did not have the size we needed in stock, so we went directly to the manufacturer. When it comes to my child's safety, I will pay whatever it costs to ensure he has the best protection available. What I found disappointing about your response is that it came across as defensive from the very beginning. If your company's policy is that you won't help customers unless they purchased the product from you, then perhaps that should be clearly communicated. What you also failed to address was my concern about the unfriendly, nonverbal communication we experienced in your store. Ironically, my son's cheeks were just barely touching the side pads, so the helmet needed a minor adjustment. We stopped at another sporting goods store, and they were happy to help us. They took the time to make sure the fit was correct, and because of the excellent customer service they provided, I ended up purchasing a different helmet from them that fit even better. You assumed that because I didn't buy the helmet from your store, I should not have expected any assistance. I disagree. I was a small business owner myself, and if someone came into my business needing help with a product--even if they purchased it elsewhere--I would help them. More often than not, that level of service led to a sale and earned a loyal customer. Customer service builds relationships, and relationships build businesses. There's a reason I was able to sell my company successfully. Unfortunately, that wasn't the experience we had at your store. Your employee simply shook his head "no," dismissed us, and made no effort to assist. Had he taken a few minutes to help, your business very likely would have earned a sale and a long-term customer. Your response has only reinforced my impression of how your business treats people. I'll gladly drive wherever I need to in order to get the products and service my family deserves. We came in a few weeks ago for seasonal rentals and the guy that helped up was amazing and helped my little brother like he was his own. We had a gal help us in helmets and found us a good one for my little brother that he could grow into as well. I went in earlier this week to try on some boots and to get feedback on a pair I had to buy online. The gentleman helping me was amazing and super helpful in letting me know the ones I got were not suitable for my calf type and helped me find a very comfortable new ski boot. I'm an intermediate rider whose put on quite a bit of weight the last two season. I just bought my…read moresecond Never Summer plank. It's 2cm longer than the first and a touch stiffer. When I received it, although it's a beaut, I was concerned I had made an error since my riding style favors a slightly smaller board than I "should" ride and this would be the longest one I've ever owned. I sent them a chat at 6:30 their time on the Saturday night before New Years. I had a live person within 10 minutes, and they contacted the marketing director. A few questions and they confirmed that I should be fine, why the new board was a good fit, and assuaged any concerns that I had about the returning it for the next size down (which they were happy to do) I had three of the best seasons ever on my first Never Summer, and am stoked to add a new one to the quiver. Taking it out in a couple of weeks and can't wait. I have a couple of other stories about how they consolidated gear orders and refunded shipping without any fuss, the socks they sent me w/o charge in one of my orders, stickers galore, etc.
