Super cute place hidden on East Colonial! I honestly thought we were going to some weird warehouse place. SnowBean sits on the edge of a lake right next to their sister restaurant, Izziban Sushi. It's not a very big cafe. There are a couple of tables inside and then a deck area outside with seating. They offer a variety of coffee drinks and desserts/pastries. All of their pastries are made in house daily, from their cookies to their brownie cheesecake bars. We actually saw someone make a red velvet cake that looked delicious. We opted for the tiramisu cup. Slightly on the pricier side for a little cup...it was like $5.50 or something like that. The taste was good but slightly on the dry side. I prefer my tiramisu soaked more with rum/brandy/liquid. The creaminess of the mascarpone was a little thicker than I'd prefer. But when we enjoyed it later, it was decent. The desserts are slightly on the pricier side but I still like the quaintness of this place and the fact that everything is made fresh, daily. Will be back for sure. read more

I personally enjoy waterfront restaurants (hello, this is Florida!), so any restaurant with a water view automatically makes me happy. But here's the deal, the desserts themselves did not live up to the wonderful scenery in front of me, although I really wish it did! Came to Snowbean on a weekday afternoon. Ordered an Oreo milkshake & a Chocolate Brownie Rio dessert "thing-y". We also ordered a few cake mini bites as well. Oreo milkshake was a thumbs down-- my friend said Steak n Shake Oreo milkshakes are way better. (Sorry!) The chocolate brownie was *good* but I don't know... it was like too moist and not enough richness. Kind of felt like I was eating dry brownies as well. Mini-cakes were subpar and overly sweet. Prices were ehh.. not leveled with the quality, get what I'm saying? But again, service was great and who doesn't like being on a lake?! I saw they had matcha drinks as well. RACIST ESTABLISHMENT. I have been a customer of this Snowbean location (Orlando) for quite a few months now. Never have I experienced this type of treatment in an establishment like this. My study partner and I were kicked out and banned after the attempt to be forced to purchase immediately by a manager of the cafe. The STUDY cafe. The reasoning was insufficient and had no basis, but the general manger continued to notify us that we are not welcome there. As many other people in the establishment were doing and HAVE DONE the same exact thing that we were doing, we were the only two people who were spoken to (TWICE). My study partner and I are both Black. After already abiding by the rules by assuring the first individual (Min) who spoke to us that we would be making a purchase, as we have plenty of times in the past, we were told that we had to leave essentially for not being paid customers. Min was also going back and forth with us about having outside food (which is prohibited in the cafe). My study partner had gummy worms, which he stop eating and put away inside a plastic bag, and I threw away both mine and his drink. He did not stop patronizing and berating us (for no less than 30 minutes) until the White individuals next to us bought something from the cafe on our behalf. This cafe closes at 1 AM. We had been there for about an hour, and planned on buying something before we left. Whether we bought something right when we got there or at 12:59 AM right before they close, we would have been paying customers as we consistently are. Just the day before, we bought food from the establishment. A reminder that this is a study cafe in which almost every single person surrounding us had laptops open and had been stationary for longer than we even had. After constantly saying that we were abiding by the policies by not eating outside food (I tossed out my own and my partner's drink) and that we would be purchasing soon, they still decided to ban us. After about another hour, a second individual (Zoy) informed us that the we were no longer welcome at Snowbean, and that we had to leave. If you would like to study in peace without the fear of being racially profiled, disturbed, embarrassed and banned from an establishment, this is NOT the place to go. They justified their actions by repeating that they are a private establishment and can reserve the right to serve us. The treatment was disgusting. UPDATED RESPONSE: As per the following allegations of: 1. Bringing outside food - The back and forth that ensued at the first warning resulted in my study partner putting his CANDY away and not eating it anymore. Drinks are not food, which is why we did not throw our energy drinks away immediately as we didn't see any signs or policies that said that was not allowed. (I WAS NOT EVEN PRESENT FOR THE FIRST WARNING. I WAS IN THE RESTROOM.) Nevertheless, when the employee came back a second time, I threw away our drinks as the hassle was not worth it. 2. Eating next door at the connecting restaurant - we were warned about this literally one time, as we did it because we were unaware obviously. And after that, we did not do that anymore. Adding that in as justification for kicking us out is irrational. 3. Not buying anything from Snowbean - it is a policy that Snowbean customers are allowed to order appetizers or small bites from Izziban and eat them in Snowbean. This constitutes business for your establishment. The amount of times that both my partner and I have bought from Izziban and Snowbean (I used to love the hot chocolate and the sushi) in my visits there are numerous, so I am completely baffled at how we are being depicted as stationary, non-buying customers. But nice work, PR. The White group of individuals were clearly playing it safe with you all, as they empathized with us immediately and stated how ridiculous it was that your employee berated us for that long (as soon as he walked away). They went out of their way to say that. We did not goad them into speaking about the situation, as we were already embarrassed from the treatment we were receiving. They understandably probably wanted to remain in good standing with you all. As already stated, we DID plan on buying something. It just did not make sense and was super distasteful for the manager to try to force us to buy something on HIS time. Overall, these faulty justifications and the collective depiction of us as repetitive rule breakers is highly distorted. But I thank you all, because we have found much better study spots to not be harassed in. Have a good one! read more

I'd give this place 5 stars for charm and staff friendliness, it reminded me of Korean bakeries in Georgia or in kpop dramas (I'm totally guilty of being a binge watcher lol) I enjoyed the decor and option to sit outside with a nice lake view, but the bakery items seemed to be frozen, thawed out and pricey. I actually came for the snow/shaved ice because I was really excited to get a good patbingsu place in orlando but the selection was limited to about 5 combinations (that are $13 each) and they weren't able to accommodate changes. Absolutely love this place! My boyfriend took me for a date to out the cute locks with our names that they have a place to lock them outside. I've only tried the snow but it's delicious. They have an outside seating area, and it's by a lake. Definitely wish there was more tables inside since it can get hot outside, and the tables that are there are always taken by people using computers and it's always 1 person at each table so that can be a little annoying because it leaves no tables for anyone else. But the workers are nice and you get a buzzer when your order is ready. read more

This is such a cute spot! I've been here twice and both times the employees have been very nice and helpful. This time I got their caramel macchiato and the original snow bean. The lady asked me if I wanted red bean on top which I had seen was a popular addition. Now I know it's described as sweet but I'm a sugar fiend so it just tasted like beans to me. It was only 50 cents extra which is a small price to pay to try something new. I did like the snow bean though and I definitely want to go back to try more flavors. The coffee was also really good, and I love their to go cups! The top is almost like a sippy cup which makes it really easy to drink out of with minimal spills. For someone who consistently seems to have a hole in their lip I really appreciated it. They also have tons of desserts, ice creams, little cakes and breads to choose from. There was only one worker working when my group came around 11 PM, so don't expect service to be quick when it's late. However, the worker was very friendly and explained the menu as it was our first time there. I liked the concept of having bingsoo in a small cup as you can take it to-go and eat it by yourself if you really wanted to (it can feed up to 2 people otherwise). I got the mango cheesecake bingsoo and it was really good! The shaved ice was very fine and delicious. I also got some macarons to try. Those were good as well and I wish I bought more. They also sell bread and pastries here, but there wasn't a large selection at night. If you want a better selection of pastries, definitely go earlier in the day. read more

Believe it or not, this place is great for studying! It's a quaint Korean coffee shop and bakery that is tucked away on the other side of Izziban Korean BBQ that I felt so weird taking my laptop and books to study. Even though there's an adjoining door and glass windows separating Snowbean and Izziban, you don't hear a peep of what's going on next door until you...go next door. Be prepared to return, though, because there's so much to try here. Different kinds of regular coffee, espresso based drinks and desserts and TEA! You'll need all of the hot drinks here, however, because they crank up the air conditioner but did I mind? Nope...wanna know why? They have gray, fleece blankets for loan, that's why!! There were at least three available. Kinda gross when you think about how many people have used them before you but maybe they keep the air high to kill the germs ‍. Either way, bring your own Snuggie next time and be prepared to stay here studying all night because they're open until 2AM! read more

I love coming here after a gut busting dinner over at Izziban. I've been here about three times and I still look forward to their delicious pastries. One of the best things about SnowBean is that they stay open late just like the restaurant, so theres no need to rush your meal or anything just to get dessert because they close at the same time-2am! My favorite things to get here are any of the the shaved snows, and the strudel custard pastry. I particularly love the small Strawberry and the Watermelon one's. Next time I'll have to try the Honeydew. With the Watermelon and Honeydew, They cut a whole fruit, and fill it with cereal, mocha, red bean, ice cream, and fruit. So freaking yummy, and pretty to look at too! Shaved snow is good after a heavy meal because it's mostly ice, and fruit. So you're still getting something sweet, fairly healthy and light (with the exception of the condensed milk). But, if you're not super into snow they have other deserts which look yummy, but I have yet to sample as I always go for the snow. I do know for a fact their coffee is delicious, so give that a try too! They have plenty of drinks for different tastes. Also, even if you're full don't forget to get a delicious pastry to go! Thanks to the recommendation from a friend, I gave Snow Bean a try yesterday and absolutely loved it. If I lived in Orlando I would definitely come back practically everyday. I can only think of 1 negative: that the coffee shop is a little hard to find off the highway especially if new to the Orlando/Winter Park area. It was the right amount of sweet and had a nice subtle caramel flavor. The drink met my expectations perfectly. Ambiance: 5/5 While a little small on the inside, the cafe provides several comfy booths and overall has a cute interior with plenty of outlets all along the top. This will be pretty awesome during our hottest months but for April it was uncomfortable. I read in another review that they offer blankets to use for warmth during your visit. Summer is fast approaching and us Orlandoans will need something to cool us down. SnowBean is the perfect place for this purpose cause it has the patbingsu there waiting for you. It is served in a cup so it's easily portable and you can take it with you while driving. However, it's hard to get the ingredients all in a bite. You kind of end up eating the toppings before you get to the ice. I got a matcha one and it didn't have a strong matcha flavor. It was still good ice with the red bean, corn flakes and mochi. The bakery item was okay since it wasn't made same day. A lot of the items were kind of pricey at almost 7 bucks for the cup I had. It could be shared but it's smallish. The shop is kept ice cold and it has cute decor. The outside lake is also gorgeous. I say stop in and give it a try. read more

It was around 11pm and only one person was working both the cashier and making the treats. Because of this, our stuff came out slow. I took a look at the pastries they have while I was waiting in line. I thought everything was overpriced. The people in my party bought a couple of treats, but I did not think they were worth it. I ordered a green tea snow with condensed milk and mango. I did not taste any green tea in my snow and there was barely any condensed milk. The whole time I felt like I was eating mango with ice while sitting in Antarctica. They did have blankets at the tables for guests to use, but I took a look at those blankets and they did not look very clean. This place has a beautiful balcony out back that looks into a river. It is very relaxing and is a great way to defrost yourself from the cold inside. I don't know if I would come back here. Nothing really wowed me. Most importantly, was not particularly impressed with my matcha latte, I did not like the way it tasted. They unfortunately did not carry oat milk, and they made my latte without asking me what milk I preferred, so I had to have it made again and with almond milk. Needless to say I did. It enjoy it. We ended up ordering the green tea shaved ice and the mango cheesecake shaved ice. The green tea comes with mochi, green tea powder, and topped with frosted flakes cereal. The mango cheesecake has mini cheesecake bites. Both were drizzled with condensed milk. The ice was nice and fluffy. The shaved ice comes in three different sizes. The employees were really nice. Get some shaved ice and take a seat outside with an outlooking view of the lake. The baked goods are not made on the premises but from Tree Story Bakery in Duluth, GA.
