This was our stop on the road home, boy were we glad to stopped! This place is a hidden gem in a place we didnt expect to find. The store is beautiful, with a little loft to work at. This place is great. I'm staying at a friend's house while in Newport and saw this coffee shop and decided to give it a try and it's so cute! The decorations give a really cool vibe and the bathroom has all individual stalls which is amazing. There is a varied menu and everything is amazingly priced, super cheap compared to prices in Michigan haha. My favorite thing about this cafe is that the bagels are loaded with cream cheese. Whenever I buy a bagel and there's like a thin coating of cream cheese on one side it ruins my morning, but this bagel was PERFECT. Just enough cream cheese. I also got a "Lotus Energy" which was not my favorite thing, but the concept is cool, like a plant based energy drink, but it's a little too sweet for me. Passing through on a road trip and saw this cafe. Everything was super cute and they had many options to choose from! They had coffee, lattes, lotus drinks, etc. They also had sugar free options!!! I'm from Rhode Island and we don't have lotus drinks around there, so I was super excited when I saw they had them here!! The line was about 5 or 6 cars long but it went super fast. They have you pull up to allow other cars to order and then they bring your drinks and food out to you. We got the sept-timber sugar free lotus drink which was pretty good but I don't know I feel about the maple syrup in it. We also got the grandma gatewood iced latte which was good and a hot crème brûlée latte which was AMAZING. It's a little pricey which is why I have 4 stars instead of 5. You know you have a local gem when they open a THIRD location! This is, IMO, the most gorgeous of their shops by far. It's a combination of upscale with glittery lights with that "at home comfort" feel with the antique nick-nacks and places to gather with friends to sit and enjoy a drink. The coffee and food menu as well as the quality of the items are just as high quality and consistent as you've come to know, love and expect from SBM. I love that I live between both their Morristown and Newport locations so no matter which direction I travel, I can always stop by my favorite coffee shop. read more

Lovely place in Downtown Newport. My coffee and my daughter's seasonal drink were very nice. I would certainly frequent again for drinks, but on food it's a one and done. I found the food to be really overpriced for portion size. $9.00 for a small turkey sandwich no side is a bit much. I also will say that the lady who took my order was not friendly and honesty seemed like she could care less especially when our order was not right. They made it right , but no apology. Not sure if we got her on a bad day as other reviewers talked about a friendly staff but that was not my personal experience unfortunately on this particular day. read more

But this... let's talk about the charm of the building. It's a trolley car. It's adorable. The Hocus Pocus drink is my current favorite. There's a blackberry flavored one too, that's non-seasonal. Delicious and so many choices. It is kind of slow compared to a big chain store. Just know that ahead of time. I got an Apple fritter and a seasonal iced latte. It was Micha with a hint of cayenne. Visit the town of Newport regularly and this is a nice shop with good coffee. Ordering is a bit slow due to no speaker for the drive thru but that is also the quaintness. My latte was good but as you may see from their menu they offer some truly unique combinations and cannot wait to get back to try some of the other combinations.
