The noise level was extremely high...we literally had to yell just to have a conversation with each other. Service was also very slow. It took about 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the bar, and close to 30 minutes to actually receive a drink. When I finally ordered, I told the bartender to make her favorite drink. She made something that included raw egg whites (which I later learned is common in certain cocktails), but it wasn't mentioned or explained at the time. A few hours later, I became very sick...vomiting and dealing with what felt like severe food poisoning all night and through the next 24 hours. After looking into it, I suspect it may have been related to the raw egg used in the drink. Just something to be aware of if you're ordering drinks like a whiskey sour or anything that may include egg whites. After getting our receipt (which you need for the speakeasy entry code), we checked out the speakeasy portion, but the vibe there wasn't great either..pretty must the same as the other part of the bar. We ended up leaving within about five minutes. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype for us....between the noise, long wait times, and how we were treated, it just wasn't enjoyable. For comparison, the bar next door, Archibald, felt much more welcoming. Maybe regulars have a different experience, but as first-time guests, we were not impressed.

The environment is relaxing and classy, and it was the perfect place for a night out. Customer Service: Always top-notch! Brittney, our server, was always present and was able to help me choose the perfect drink that matched what I desired. I wanted a Whiskey Sour, and because they did not have that on the menu, she suggested the Smoked Rosemary Blackberry Bourbon Sour. She was spot on; it was delicious, and it was my first time to have a smoked drink. It was different, and every drop was enjoyed. Our entertainment for the evening was Clover the Violinist. She is FULL of talent and kept our tunes going the whole night; she perfectly mastered all genres. I was happy to find out, she plays at that location occasionally. I also ordered the fish and grits but I asked if the sauce could be put on the side. She told me no problem, however when my food arrived there was no sauce on the side. There also were no condiments (hot sauce, butter), some of us got our food on a pretty plastic plate and others got their food in to go containers (although we all were eating there). I got plastic silverware and no extra napkins. With all of that said, the grits were seasoned very well as was the fish. Sadly some of the ladies had been waiting for a long time and we were informed that there was only one person in the kitchen and that they couldn't get anyone to come in and help. I can imagine how hard it would be to find parking during busy rush hour. I like their line up of condensed milk behind the counter- that's how you know they are not joking around. My iced Vietnamese coffee was creamy and not too sweet with a strong coffee taste. Some Vietnamese coffee are too strong and make me feel queasy, but not this coffee! I wish it was close by.
