The environment is relaxing and classy, and it was the perfect place for a night out. Customer Service: Always top-notch! Brittney, our server, was always present and was able to help me choose the perfect drink that matched what I desired. I wanted a Whiskey Sour, and because they did not have that on the menu, she suggested the Smoked Rosemary Blackberry Bourbon Sour. She was spot on; it was delicious, and it was my first time to have a smoked drink. It was different, and every drop was enjoyed. Our entertainment for the evening was Clover the Violinist. She is FULL of talent and kept our tunes going the whole night; she perfectly mastered all genres. I was happy to find out, she plays at that location occasionally. I came to West Jax a couple Saturdays ago with a friend and this is a really nice spot. Neither of us are cigar smokers but came here for a drink. We each got smoked old fashioned's and both were really good, very strong, and with good flavor. I'd definitely come back again later in the evening to see what the vibe is like later at night, as I've heard that they have a DJ during late night. Always enjoy coming to West Jax! Even though I'm not a smoker, I enjoy the laid back, mature atmosphere of a cigar lounge and this one does not disappoint. Love that it's black owned, also! On the latest visit, I stopped in around 8:30pm on a Saturday night. Sat at the bar; vibes were chill and the music and drinks were great! Service was good also. The crowd started to pick up around 10pm. They have a patio area out back which is also a nice to place to sit and unwind. They don't sell any food items but on this particular night, a food vendor out back offered fried catfish plates which was a hit. read more

We went to three bars in Fort Worth this evening and this was by far the most enjoyable. This place is classy, low-commotion, with an easy going vibe and good drinks. Cigars seemed to be kept at the perfect humidity. Music was a tasteful R&b and light Rap. It was maintained at the right level of loudness to allow for good conversations in a cozy comfortable living-room type setting. The place was well ventilated with lots of fresh air being pumped in and filtered, however, with this many people smoking cigars its would be considered smoky. We met one of the owners Jay. I had such an amazing time at West Jax! They had awesome music, cigars, signature drinks, and food vendors on their patio. The bartender/cigar tender walked me through some of the differences of cigar selection they had. I'm not a cigar smoker at all and she made it pretty easy to understand the differences! It was pretty calm when I came in but as the night went on it got more packed and that made it a lot more fun so don't be scared to go alone if you ever have free time! There will always be someone to talk to! Food/vendors on the patio changes through out the week! Drinks specials change through out the week as well! This is a spot that isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea. It'a a bar that has a small selection of cigars, some local, which is a great addition to the selection. The atmosphere is definitely of a cigars style shop with leather upholstered furniture, dark walls, and the smell of some good cigars burning. The cigars in the case are clean, appear well maintained and not neglected which is all to common in bars that sale cigars. The cigars are usually either dry from lack of care or molded and cracking from over-humidifying, I did not see that here. The inside of the bar is a bit dank and very narrow. The patrons were already full of spirits at 5 pm, they open at 4 pm, so they've evidently been hitting it hard and they were singing loudly. It was entertaining. Now, two sources of contention: 1. Parking, it's non existent. All of the lots in the area are posted with towing signs from the respective business that the parking lot is in front of. There isn't any street parking. I drove around for 15 minutes trying to assess the area to find out that I had to park at my own risk. 2. No matter what you buy, there is an automatic 15% "service charge" attached to the bill. It say says gratuity on the receipt, tho the bartender explained it as a service charge. Not quite understanding that logic. It's an interesting place, tho with the parking, odd location, and auto gratuity it won't be a frequents stop. Tho I give it high reviews for the atmosphere, cool building vibe, decent prices on cigars that are well kept, and a very friendly bartender. read more

I will have to admit, I'm not a smoker. I've had a cigar on a few special occasions, mainly one a year at a convention I go to yearly. Usually not much more than the one or two a year. I do enjoy a cigar place if .. and I apologies if it isn't the most exact cigar efficient terms ... it has more of the sweet smell that you can smell the notes of what had been smoked vs the smell of just smoke that leans into what I remember a bar that allowed all kinds of smoke. During my visit this location had that sweet smell, and gave off the vibes that its a bit more on the bar side where you can come hang out and become a regular, which I feel like we need more of. So, when coming up for an event, I figured I would look at the cigar options while there so I knew to recommend it to my friends that do smoke or not, but would likely end up getting the drink option for myself. I came up around opening on the first day and was the only person there for a short period of time. The sweet lady working went above and beyond to help out and seemed knowable. I did end up getting a cigar togo for me to gift to my father in law. Then I went ahead and got a drink called peach west to try, so that I could tip. After I put in my order a group of three came in, that had already had been having fun at their previous location, even with it being about 430/445 at the time. One struck up conversation with me and told me it was their first visit as well. They sat down with their drinks and cigars to settle in as I was wrapping up tough, cause a I was settling my check one of them dropped their glass. I think it was the same group that was there when another yelper posted his review so he and I must have just missed each other. The one negative in my option is when checking out, as she was handing me my check she mentioned a service charge. Looking at it there was an automatic 15% gratuity added to my bill even as a single person visiting. I'm a better tipper than that, so I added to it ... but if I had known ahead of time I may have adjusted how I had done things when ordering. (Just gotten the drink and cash tipped 20-25% like had originally intended.) My best assumption is they have had a number of non-signers on tabs or non-tippers ... though I know that automatic tip doesn't sit well with a number of folks, especially on tabs for a single person. Unfortunately, I feel like that could end up biting them in the long run, because I know enough people that see the auto-tip amount and end up not adding the extra % to bump it up to at least 20%+ like they intended because of it. read more

I found out about this spot from a DFW women's group. Saying "Hey ladies...all the men are over here!" So I thought let me go find out! The lounge is in Fort Worth and is nice. They have parking in the back and you can access the large patio or come inside to smoke. We ventured over on a Sunday and it was laid back. I loved the aesthetic and layout. It's not BYOB but they have a comparable bar for cocktails. If more beer people showed up I could see them expanding their palette to more Craft Beer options. We purchased a couple of cigars and some delicious drinks and asked about the nightly entertainment. They have a bevy of things to do and the age group is mature. That's a plus. My friend, she came earlier last week with her husband and they were literally the only people in the building so I guess certain days are more crowded thank others.I do wish the seating inside was not all reserved because it's already scarce with the seating inside. The patio area is a nice size and I do recommend the staff order more small tables for outside so customers are able to place their drinks down instead of holding them or placing them on the granite near the fire because it is not a flat service. However ANGEL went above and beyond and brought my friend and I smaller table to improvise with to set our drinks on. I appreciated the effort. I do like that happy hour is pretty much all night. I was expecting more of a live music vibe, but they just have a DJ in the corner on a card table playing some jams. Not bad, but definitely not worth $10 a person. Their cigar selection is also super limited which was disappointing- but their prices were fair. The ventilation is great, you don't walk out smelling awful. And the service was very good. The entire establishment just feels smooth; the ambience is lax and comfortable. They have entertainment (tvs and tunes) and endless popcorn. This place is such a cool space for an evening out. The inside is decorated sleek and cool and the outdoor fire pit area gives another hanging option. While you might think cigar clubs/bars as a place mostly for guys, it was half filled with ladies, including myself. Everyone of age is welcome. Bar service was accommodating to make off-menu drinks if they had the supplies on hand or adjust on-menu drinks to your taste. Although they don't serve food, you can order food for delivery there.
