Food is mediocre nothing special about it not the best but also not terrible. A friend and I went for girls night and got a couple of drinks and shared some food. The drinks were not very strong but tasted good. Service is good no complaints on the staff but it was pretty slow during the week in the evening. Meat in the tacos were a bit dry. I had hoped the slasa had more spice for more flavor to add to the tacos. The dessert was also a little over cooked but they did serve plenty of ice cream for us to share. Came in for lunch and had a solid experience. Grilled Fish Tacos - 4/5 - Street taco size, but otherwise solid. Posole - 4/5 Rich flavor with plenty of filling. Basil Refresher - 5/5 Light, refreshing, but not too sweet, despite the basil-sugar rim. A must-try. Carne Adovada Empanada 3/5 - A nice small bite, with a sweet almost pie-like crust. I've lived next to this business for 2 years now and just now decided to try it out. My first tasting was a mixed feeling. I'll start with what I loved. The Brussels sprouts--- chefs kiss! Leaves were crispy, flavor was jumping (in a good way), the whole dish was just A+ 5 stars. The Mac and cheese was pretty good, I liked how it had a kick to it, but the macaroni was al dente which you usually don't expect in Mac and cheese. Still, I would give this a solid 4 stars. The loaded fries were really good, it was just confusing about how to go they give you all the toppings on the side, because I had some other topics for other things too, so I wasn't sure what was for what. Also; since I assembled it myself I'm sure I didn't get as pretty of a pic to upload as if the chef would have made it. The amount of meat and toppings were a lot more than the amount of fries so it didn't quite balance but I'm not complaining, I suppose it would be worse if the meat and toppings weren't enough . Still; the flavors were good, solid 4 stars. The buffalo cauliflower was a dish I very much didn't like. Okay so the cauliflower tasted like it was pickled , and then they soaked it with buffalo sauce after that. If I were to offer some advice, I would say you should roast the cauliflower so you get those lightly burnt edges, mix the cauliflower in on a mixing bowl, then take it out by hand and let some of the sauce drip off, because it was kinda like buffalo sauce soup, when that's combined with the texture and cooking style of the cauliflower needing adjustments it made for a not so perfect experience. Another good way too would be to batter the cauliflower and simply offer the sauce on the side as a dip, or you can take a squeeze bottle at the end to it. read more

I have my first visit to this establishment on February 7, 2025. I went for lunch. There is ample parking and excellent lighting. The decor is modern, and it has a clean field. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The menu has many choices, but I was eating late today so I went with pisole, and small Caesar salad. I've only had pisole once or twice before. This one was a very nice representation of this iconic dish. The broth had just a hint of spice, giving it a little zing. The corn kernels were just right. The Caesar salad was a nice size and very flavorful. I know it will be well worth my time and effort to go back and try other things on the menu. Prices are reasonable. read more

Come here once in a while. Came two days this week. The bartender forgot to give the lady next to me her Mac n cheese but brought her the check before she even got her food. He brought it out and it definitely sat there for over 25 minutes. She still ate it. It had looked good so I ordered one to go. Definitely a smaller portion than she had and there was no panko on it. Today, I went with my friend and it took 10 minutes to be noticed and we wanted to ordered food but she never came back.... Mind you there was only maybe two other people at the bar top. This place was really good. I got the slider sampler off the happy hour menu which contained three different sliders: beef, fried chicken, and shredded pork. These were tasty! Sunday fun day! For once I found myself with some down time so figured I'd hang with my Dad. After considering all the joints to eat for dinner, we decided to come here. It was my first time. I'd passed by many of times throughout my travels but never actually stopped in. Today was the day. Walking in the front desk staff immediately greeted me. I found my dad at one of the tables so I walked over to sit with him. Not knowing exactly what to expect for the menu I wasn't sure what to get. The place was pretty nice, it had a nice modern look and was very casual. They even had a fire place in the center of the dining area with couches. We ended up getting the chips and queso and I settled with the shredded beef Sunday burrito. Course I added some queso and quacamole. The meat was tender and the burrito was huge. Unfortunately I only ate half because I was full by the time I got halfway through it. I took the rest home and at it later. Overall it was a great experience and I'll definitely be back. I also discovered they have a rewards program too. Even more of an incentive. This place is near the ol mimmos restaurant now know as Sal's. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Sobremesa has plenty of room and seats for guests. There are plenty of TVs for sports games throughout the establishment. The posole is . Best in town. I would strongly advise againT the taquitos. They are very small and thin and just isn't worth the money. I would not recommend it. The Mac and cheese is very good and has a bit of spice to it as there is a bit of green chili in it. In all, yes, I would recommend. Plenty of beers and cocktails to choose from to accommodate a mixed group of people who like different types of options. There is an outdoor patio as well with plenty of tables, not much of a view, but nonetheless, there is an outside area. read more

Wanted to bring my mom to sobremesa because I told her I remember the food being good... and it did not disappoint it was as good as the last time I came. We were greeted immediately upon entering and wanted to sit outside. At first it was a little awkward because we were sat at a table next to an open window and we were basically sitting soo close to the table next to us (inside) who were having a serious conversation. But we got over that quick. To start off I ordered the tres volcanes it came with Mezcal which I love it was a little sweet for me tho so for the next one I said no simple syrup. My mom got the Mourvèdre she liked it alot. From the other Yelp pics I knew I wanted to order the posole and I added pork it was soo flavorful and delicious. I got the tacos 4/$14 and I shouldn't have ordered that many because I was a little full from the posole. But, I got 2 pescado and 2 carnitas. I like the carnitas now but they were both good. My mother also got the posole and the large Greek salad and immediately said " I should've got the small" smh. For dessert she got the cherry empanada with a scoop of ice cream but I didn't take a pic because she sent it back as it was burnt to a crisp. But they bought out a new one 10 mins later (which I also didn't take a pic of lol). All in all it was a good experience and nice atmosphere. Decided to go there before a basketball game. We truly enjoyed. It was happy hour and the wine and beer was reasonable! Shared the brussel sprouts, outstanding, ceasar salad, beet and goat cheese salad and chili cheese fries with chicken. We all shared and enjoyed. Service was good, took no time at all to be served. If the steak is only going to have steak and onions then they gotta season the steak. The churro dessert could have been more. The churros were a little burnt and small. This time they stuffed on the fries, side salad, no salsa for the tacos, put cilantro on ALL OVER my tacos when I requested no cilantro, AND everything was cold. This is awful. I would expect this if I didn't tip, or wasn't a regular, but this is how it is. Management should know this is how you lose a business in this economy. $17 average a plate and totally mishandled... We went for the first time in a while. Thus is not the Sobremesa we loved. At one point, we were there often. Loved the in house fries and the food was fabulous. Today, the menu had changed significantly since we were there last. There was only one choice for empanadas, the taco choices were different, and the fries were frozen. The fish tacos had one strip of dark dry fish and coleslaw. It was very disappointing. I guess they're concentrating on the brew and not the kitchen. No desserts were available either. This was 3 pm! It's very sad. You can't lose quality for savings. The roasted chicken is no longer available and I was scared to order fish and chips. It certainly exceeded my expectations with the food offerings and craft cocktails. While mostly bar food type offerings, they're done well and have a wider variety than most. Most of this brewery's magic lives in its vibe and location. A large open modern brewery in a neighborhood currently growing exponentially is "right place at the right time". I had the gose, which wasn't exceptional enough to remember details about but good enough that it was enjoyable and refreshing on a hot afternoon. Full disclosure I didn't try the other beers. The menu is really where they lost me. It looks Fantastic and then is just...ok? I will start with where they succeeded for me - the Buffalo cauliflower (picture) was AMAZING. Perfectly roasted cauliflower tossed in a killer Buffalo sauce that was just the right amount of tang, spice and savory. Delicious. The queso was... just cheese? We added the Pico from our tacos, the Buffalo sauce off the bottom of the cauliflower, and half the salsa and then it was delish. But, I shouldn't have to doctor food with parts of other food for it to be worth eating. All of the tacos were lacking flavor. We tried every flavor. The only one we finished was the adovada. This place is right on the edge of being worth a trip to the Westside. Hope they keep tweaking their recipes. I wouldn't say no if someone wanted to meet here, but I wouldn't suggest it. After a fun golf round at a local course, we were looking to grab a beer and maybe a bite. Since it was the last weekend of the NFL regular season, we were concerned with getting a seat. Sobremesa proved to be a great spot for us! The location has lots of windows, so it's really light and clean. There are TV's for those who want to watch sports, and comfortable seating areas for those who just want to visit. For a NFL Sunday, it really was t that loud! We tried the Mexican Lager. It was very good, light, crisp, and clean tasting! The other beers we saw looked pretty good as well. Plus, they have a full bar for those who prefer spirits. The food was very good. We split an order of loaded fries, with queso and green chile. The chile was very tasty and the fries were good as well. The guy next to us was pounding empanadas, and he was emphatic that they were great! The service was fine. Looking for a new spot to grab a bite and beer and had read the reviews so we headed on over. The good news first; ambience and service were both excellent! It's very cozy and I do love the fireplace . They do have it decorated very nicely. And now the bad news; while the food wasn't bad per se, it just wasn't great. It was mediocre at best. I ordered a burger on a tortilla and the tortilla was cold . My date had a burger as well and again, it was just ok. They claim to have an extensive beer selection but that wasn't true. At first glance, this place looks great- nice atmosphere and a fireplace. However, it seems like the night I went they were very understaffed and seemed to struggle a bit. Nothing wrong there, it happens to the best of us. What was the most upsetting was ordering a "safe food" (macaroni and cheese with chicken) as someone with severe eating limitations and barely eating a bite of it because it just looks....off. Once I tasted it, it was very obvious the cheese sauce was undercooked and too runny, falling off the noodles. It seemed like they tried to thicken the sauce with flour which only really added texture and a heavy flour taste. The menu also mentioned a Panko breadcrumb topping which definitely didn't not make it onto my plate. She had the adovada, carne asada, carnitas and chicken. The carnitas were okay, but the rest were just boring, although she does take pretty much all of the things off of them with the exception of cheese, so that could explain it. She also had to wait to eat as they had to redo them because they came out cold, twice. When it was time to leave we were glad we had cash as their system was down and the waitress suggested we let them write down our credit card number for them to charge later. Lol! We learned about Sobremesa because they entered their breakfast stout into the Los Alamos stout invitational and we decided it was in our top 3 out of 16 stouts. I enjoyed tasting their other beers, and they have a good selection of cocktails as well. I had the espresso martini and the peach beer, as well as Brussel sprout appetizer and tacos to eat. My boyfriend had the pork sandwich. The food was all good and I enjoyed the variety. The seating area is well designed, decorated and spacious, and the service was also timely. I really wanted to like Sobremesa, but this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in Albuquerque. The service was painfully slow -- we waited far too long just to get drinks and then even longer for our food. When it finally arrived, everything besides the burgers and beer was a letdown. The burgers were decent, and the beer was actually good, but everything else we ordered was bland, poorly prepared, and just not worth the price. If you're only coming here for a burger and a pint, you'll be fine, but for anything else, I'd suggest looking elsewhere read more

So this happened....they finally opened. Everytime we would drive by, we would say when? This brewery was built from the ground up and is just beautiful. They are very serious about taking care of the customer. As we walked in, our tempature was taken and the seating was at a respectful social distance. We ran into a friendly face. Sandra! So happy to see her and we were thrilled she was our wait person. I tried one of their lighter beers which was really good. My husband loves his beer and enjoyed their amber. We ordered the queso and salsa for starters and it was really good. The salsa was nice and thick filled with tomates and a little heat and the queso had enough heat in its deliciousness. We both ordered tacos for lunch. I had a chicken taco and a fish taco. Both were made fresh and good to the last bite. We will be back as we have more food to try! The reviews haven't been good so we've passed Sobremesa up in numerous occasions. But some friends raved about it and so we decided to give it a shot. So we head on over and park in a full parking lot. Find out way to the front door and into a busy, but not overcrowded essentially Bar & Grille area. There were multiple TVs on the periphery and a variety of college football games were playing. It wasn't overly loud and we were able to carry on a conversation at the table. Seating was quick as was our server. Drinks and appetizers ordered and some time to look at the menu. I selected the 2 taco combination with 2 carne asada & 2 fish tacos. The Cubano sandwich also made the cut. The dinners made it to the table about the time we ran out of our chips. The tacos were good, the carne asada was nicely done and mildly spiced. The fish tacos tasted "fishy" I know but fishy taste means old. Otherwise they weren't bad. The Cubano sandwich was delicious, lots of pulled pork and a lightly toasted roll. Once again the pork was mildly spiced and tender. Service was excellent, seemed our server came by just as we needed something. Our dinner was good and service excellent. Decided to try a new place for lunch on the weekend at work and we are all so happy we did! Ordering online was cake and they made the food super fast and it was done on time! I always show up a bit early and they hadn't finished yet but I got the text they were packaging it shortly after. It took them a bit to package everything but everything is done so beautifully and efficiently, you can see why! I ordered chicken flautas with a couple of different salsas and the grilled chicken sandwich. They were both amazing! The flautas are super crispy and flavorful and didn't get soggy on the way back to work. The fries can be ordered extra crispy and they stayed crispy the whole time too! The atmosphere and cleanliness of the place is great. The open windows brought a fresh cool air. The beet and goat cheese salad was flavorful and the size was a good value for the price. The service was where things went downhill. We ordered 2 salads and wings. The wait was about 20 mins to get the salads about halfway through eating the salad they brought out cauliflower instead of our wings. Then we were ignored for another 20 minutes until the wings came out. No drink refills and when they brought out the wings they were boxed to go even though we plan to eat them there.
