We did a lot of research going into this project and had a pretty specific vision of what we wanted -- including battery storage, system sizing, and long-term efficiency. The team was receptive to that from day one and worked with us instead of pushing a one-size-fits-all solution. Communication was solid throughout the process. As with any solar project, there were a lot of moving parts (permitting, inspections, utility coordination), but they kept things moving and were responsive whenever we had questions. Installation itself was clean and professional. The conduit runs and equipment placement were well done, and everything looks neat and intentional -- which definitely matters for a system you'll be living with long-term. We also appreciated how they handled the more complex parts of the project, including battery integration and working with LADWP for interconnection and net metering. That process can get confusing, but they helped guide it through to completion. System has been up and running smoothly, and we're already seeing the benefits in terms of reduced grid usage and better control over our energy. However, I'd like to make anyone aware who considers Treepublic as their solar installation company that their service leaves much to be desired. Since the installation of our solar system we've had several malfunctions that required intervention (fixes to the wiring and software related issues). Each time things played out along those lines: 1. I make a service call and/or leave a message with someone. Nobody gets back to me for days at a time. 2. I repeat service requests via email and voice mail 2-3 times before someone finally gets back to me, requesting detailed documentation. At this time usually about 2 weeks have passed since my initial reach-out. 3. The person that gets back to me assigns someone else to the service and that person usually isn't available for another week. When the assigned person arrives, that have no record of the issue and absolutely no information of the problem. All documentation that was already shared with Treepublic has gotten lost somewhere along the chain of command. 4. The assigns technician decides that they don't have the right expertise to solve the problem and reach back out to the office. 5. The loop repeats. I will also not a couple of positives and the reason i cannot assign one star: 1. The sales process was great and the sales rep was knowledgeable, making smart suggestions for the design of the system. 2. The installation process it's self was smooth, timely and professional Where Treepublic plainly sucks is on the communication front and when it comes to service after the initial installation. In our case the trouble started already prior to the installation: 1. After the final design was set and after a person had already measured our roof in person we signed the contract. After signing the contract we were suddenly told that the out roof could for 2 fewer panel than what was in the contract. I guess that can happen, but nobody ever owners up to the apparent mistake made when measuring the roof and writing the contract. 2. Once the correction had been made to the contract and installation was about to commence we were told the afternoon before the installation that the panels we had ordered were not available and that they would install somewhat less efficient panels instead. They offered a small adjustment to the contract instead. I mean ok, but shouldn't you offer some heads-up for such a change in specs and amend the contract first? My impression is that this is a company full of capable individuals but there always seem to me too many people involved shuffling information back and forth and things inevitably get lost in the shuffle. A few months ago, we decided to move forward with installing a 13.4 KW solar system. Imperial Solar was fair and transparent during the evaluation, and efficient and detail-oriented throughout the installation. The crew arrived on time and left the area clean. The system was installed professionally and looks excellent. Since our meter change, our bill has decreased by 80%, even during winter. We look forward to seeing our savings in the summer. We are very satisfied with Imperial Solar and highly recommend them to anyone considering a solar installation.

Some of the panels had been disconnected and needed to be reconnected and troubleshooting done. The said it could take up to 2 full days to do the work and quoted me a very high cost as a result despite me arguing that it should not take that long. They then showed up had the system reconnected and working within 3 hours. No change in the original charge. Then the system went offline that night, in other words it was only up and working for about 6 hours. Now they want to charge another $500 just to come look at it again. Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. We hired this company based on a recommendation from our roofing contractor's project manager, but…read moreunfortunately, they did not live up to that recommendation or the positive reviews we saw online. The scope of work was the removal and reinstallation of our existing solar panel system during a roof replacement. Estimate: Fair pricing. Communication: Quite lacking. It felt like we always had to be the ones initiating contact, even when it came time for them to collect their payment. Service and Workmanship: The removal took one day and the reinstallation took another. We didn't have any issues with the removal, but the reinstallation had several major flaws. Most notably, they reused the original flashings, which were bent and warped. Because of this, our brand-new shingles could be subjected to warping. We pointed out a few visibly damaged flashings at the corners, but we have no way of knowing the condition of the flashings hidden beneath the panels. Considering we just spent $20,000 on a new roof, they really should have asked if we wanted to replace the old flashings with new ones. Now, I am just hoping we don't end up with leaks in a few years. Cleanup: The second major problem was their lack of professionalism at the end of the job. When they finished, they simply walked off. They didn't clean up or pick up their trash, leaving debris all over the roof, roof gutter, and throughout the yard. Overall: I absolutely would not have hired this contractor if I had known how poor the workmanship and customer service would be.

Carlos came out did some rewiring told us to have a CAT 5 cable ran to have a direct connect for our app and then he would come back to ensure everything was working properly. Before the CAT 5 was installed the inverter stopped working again. I called Carlos, he said to give him a call the following week because he had a big job out of town. No problem. I totally understand. I tried to reconnect with him several times. Sometimes he picks up sometimes he doesn't. Last time we spoke we picked a tentative appointment date for him to come out. When I called him to confirm he wouldn't return my call. This has gone on for over a month and a half. Disappointed and a waste of time to say the least especially because he had other great reviews. It turned out he showed me a much better way to upgrade our system and get a better value. I was able to pre-purchase the components from my prior solar company at great savings. Carlos' company provided the panels. Btw, Anca Solar's pricing was very reasonable and within my budget. I scheduled the service and the guys were great, even arriving early. They got the job done in one day and the system works great! The biggest plus is, Carlos responded to my emails very quickly, keeping the line of communication open.
