Socal Home Renovation manages all types of home renovations and commercial work. Jacob and Ron are the founders and project managers. They were really great to work with and very importantly, really knowledgeable and provide educated consultation. I think they have an engineering background and used to work for a really large reputable construction company so they are experienced and have seen it all. After speaking with them and seeing their portfolio I felt confident with moving forward on our projects. Overall, we're really happy with the work done and its worth getting a quote and talking through your projects. They're honest with you if the work could be done a different way that's more affordable or if you should go a different direction to solve the root problem. Because we also did so many projects, they were very generous in helping us out in certain areas. I trust their recommendations and explanations which is important for projects. If payment is a problem, they also have some kind of finance option that is 0% interest from a service they pay for to give their clients that option. LANDSCAPING PROJECT: We hired them to remove the gravel and mulch from our backyard and install pavers. The pricing was reasonable having had others provide quote us in the past. After watching the amount of effort it took to ensure the job was done thoroughly and correctly, I was really impressed. It wasn't just putting in pavers, but it was to solve the problem of water pooling up against our home which caused moisture damaging the foundation. They implemented a drainage system through digging and trenching to allow water to flow through a pipe that would dispense out to the street instead of to our home. They had to go through multiple steps in the process to make sure the pavers were level, but also so that it was at a slight (visibly unnoticeable) angle so that the water would flow towards the drains and out into the street. We were really pleased with the outcome and it came just in time during the storms whereas our neighbors had the water flood into their crawl spaces. They also answered all of our questions being new to the process thoroughly and were patient and accommodating. We almost went with concrete, but they advised that pavers are about the same cost and have a higher value as well as other benefits. So glad we took their recommendation! INSTALLED OUTDOOR VINYL FENCE: We wanted to remove the current stucco wall we had around our backyard and install a more aesthetic vinyl fencing. They worked in parallel to do the fencing and pavers in stages that ensured there were no openings that would subject us to strangers entering our property. The panels look great and were installed correctly. ELECTRICAL REWIRING and PANEL BOX UPGRADE We also had them work on our electrical to rewire our home. They were very proactive in getting the permits moving forward and working promptly. I didn't realize electrical rewiring was such a big project, but they kept all the moving parts going so we could finish in a prompt time. GENERAL HOME CONSTRUCTION TIPS FROM A NEWBIE: In general, I recommend touching base with the contractors when they arrive and before they leave to ensure the work done is the way you had envisioned it. Some of the subcontractor workers speak English and some may not. It wasn't a problem, but worth mentioning. I also recommend making sure you are clear in what you want and that the details are understood on the quote. It is best not to assume anything and best to give as much context as possible so they can help identify the best approach to solve the root problem. I was new to this process so thought this might be helpful for others! Luckily Jacob and Ron were easy to work and generous with their time. They won't rush you and are available to talk through any concerns before, during and after the project. For anything that needed fixing or adjusting, they diligently worked with their subcontractors. They were also very responsive and you could text them immediately with any questions! read more

I hired SoCal Home Renovation to demolish an addition and frame in, insulate, drywall/stucco a couple doorways for a single family home. This company does great work at very fair and competitive prices. After reaching out to SoCal Home Renovation for an estimate, Ron Ben, the owner and CEO of the company met me at my property to gather my requirements and complete the survey. He was very clean, professional, respectful, and knowledgeable. After meeting with Ron, I felt like he was someone I could see myself partnering with on this project. After our meeting, Ron went back to his office and drafted up an itemized estimate for my project. Ron is very efficient, and his resource and personnel management skills saved a lot of money on the estimate for my project. The final price of my quote was extremely competitive compared to others that I had received, and he was going to be able to have the job finished quickly. This was a deal that I couldn't pass up, so I agreed to the price and we started the project the following week. On days one and two, Ron's demolition crew showed up to tear down the addition. They did a great job. They worked quickly and they were very careful not to damage the house or anything else on the property. They stacked the debris neatly and cleaned up their work area when they were done for the day. On day three, the cleanup crew arrived to haul away the debris from the addition, while the framers began prepping the doorways for framing, insulation, vapor barrier, drywall, and stucco. The cleanup crew was very effective at packing the trailer, and I was amazed that they were able to get everything in one load. On day four, the drywall and stucco guys took care of the taping, mudding, and installing the scratch coat on the stucco. They did a good job making sure not to make a mess with the drywall or the stucco. They kept their work areas clean and didn't damage the property. On day five, the stucco guy installed the finish coat for the stucco while the painter sanded high points on the new drywall and applied primer to the interior walls. Their work was clean professional. On day six, the painter came out to apply the final coats of paint to the interior walls where the work was done, and then hauled off any remaining debris. The painter was friendly, respectful, and worked quickly. All throughout this project, Ron was keeping in constant communication with me to provide any updates or to schedule meetings for payment at each phase of the job. He was always very professional, respectful, and friendly, and he was a pleasure to work with. Ron's crew was great! This project brings to mind the expression "putting lipstick on a pig", and Ron's crew went the extra mile and did their best to help make things look as good as possible, even though the rest of the interior and exterior of the home are outdated and full of imperfections. I met with Ron today to close out the job. I'm very happy with the work that he and his team at SoCal Home Renovation did, and I strongly recommend this company to anyone in the Los Angeles, Orange County, or Inland Empire areas that need quality work done on their home. read more

I am so glad I found SoCal home renovation for my retaining wall project. Ron and his team did a terrific job! When I say retaining wall it's not a small project. It's 80 ft long 2-tier wall structure on the hillside. The sheer amount of work needed to grade the hillside, rebar, forming, and pouring concrete is no small feat. Ron has a smart foreman Carlos and they delivered this project successfully and made sure I am fully satisfied with the work. Work of this size has its own challenges and Ron made sure the crew is always available to finish it as quickly as possible. We got Ron's number from our friends at work. He remodeled their backyard couple of weeks ago. We were interested in getting a quote for concrete stepping stones and artificial turf for our back yard. Ron showed up on time, showed us different turf samples, and we also went with him to a simile project (3 miles away) to see some of the work he did in progress. His estimate was competitive, and had great reviews and references. Within 2 weeks, our backyard project was completed. The work included artificial turf, drip line system, landscaping, lights and concrete. In the end of the project Ron did a walkthrough with us, made a punch list of small repairs and corrections we had and was able to address them at the same day. We are pleased and happy with the final results. We appreciate Ron's attention to detail and his professionalism and passion to his work. Rob Ben, Jacob, and the rest of the Socal Home Renovation crew were absolutely phenomenal. They re-did our driveway to pavers with artificial turf in between, along with a cement pathway down the length of our house. From the beginning, Ron and Jacob were organized, professional, and well prepared. Their prices were very fair and stayed the same throughout the project. The crew showed up on time every day and worked a full day. (While this sounds standard, it's rare to experience a construction crew showing up on time and working a full day throughout the life of a project) We had some slight additions and changes while the project was going and the team was receptive and easy to work with. The project went one day over the 10 day estimate, but that was likely due to us adding a 70ft drain from the back of the house to the front. Communication is key when doing a project like this, and Ron and Jacob always responded right away. There was never any confusion or lack of clarity as to what was supposed to be happening. They even came by for a final walkthrough before paying the final payment. Overall, I couldn't recommend this company enough.
