My garage door spring broke and required replacement. Unfortunately, it was a Torquemaster setup with an internal spring which is pretty expensive to repair and more difficult to obtain the parts so I opted to replace it with a standard torsion setup. I called around and got about 5 or 6 quotes from various garage door companies. Evers just left my house and I must say....awesome job! First off, my garage had a couple of minor cracks in a couple of sections. My garage reached a point where it would randomly get stuck and made horrible cracking and popping sounds. I've had enough. I started to write a long post on here but then I realized no one would read it. So let me keep it simple. -I called 10 companies for prices on my door. Socal was the cheapest. -They came same day for a free estimate, and were very friendly and clearly knew garage doors very well. -When I was ready to proceed, I called on a Monday, and my door was started and completed the following day. -I am extremely picky on quality of work, and there were a lot of obstacles in our install that Gus could have cut corners on, but he did everything clean and with high quality. The install was rock solid, very quality with no loose ends. I am an extremely satisfied customer, and unless you find a price from someone else that they can't match, you are crazy to let anyone else do your work but Socal. A true 5/5. Well, once again Evers at SoCal Garage Doors went above and beyond expectations! I noticed some strange noises when opening the door and wanted to have it checked out before something catastrophic occurred. Shot a text to SoCal Garage and within 2 hrs Evers arrived. It took some time to determine the cause of my issue but Evers stuck with it and ended up spending a couple hours and a trip to the parts store before fixing the problem. I called many places to see how much it cost to get my garage door replace. SoCal Garage by far was the cheapest. He out beat his competitors by $300-$600. I spoke with Gus, very friendly and professional. After calling him, he came out to my house in less than 30 mins to estimate the work. I had a two car garage wooden door with an old motor. He recommended that I replace the whole thing which makes total sense. It was a Thursday when he came out, he said he can get the new door up the next day but we both forgot it was good Friday so the door distributer was closed so my new garage door was not going to get installed until Monday. He came out on Monday installed the new door with windows and motor and haul away all the old stuff. The new motor he install was a Genie 1024 it is so quiet you can barely hear it running. My Wife and I are the unfortunate owners of a Wayne Dalton Torquemaster installation. For those who don't know what that is the basics is that instead of a standard spring installation our spring is within the torsion tube. Because the spring is located inside the torsion tube it is much smaller and has less gauge and basically has a shorter life cycle than a standard torsion installation. Needless to say, after around 6 years of use the spring failed and our garage door motor nearly tore the roof of our garage door off trying to pull it up. I found Evers youtube video about doing a torquemaster conversion to a standard spring installation and called him up. He immediately gave me a VERY reasonable quote over the phone (far less than I expected) to replace everything with a standard torsion. Since our home was a new construction we also called the subcontractor "Safe & Secure" who built our home who sent out a service rep (wouldn't give a quote over the phone) and quoted us more than double the amount Evers quoted. Evers and I texted several times because of concerns over whether a standard torsion would fit and although we did try to measure it out when Evers arrived we concluded I didn't have enough clearance to fit a standard torsion system (without a great deal of cost) so we did the torquemaster again. We found SoCal Pro through an after hours emergency when our golf cart roof had hit the top of our garage door as it was almost all the way up. Torsion spring broke Friday morning. I couldn't find any one out there to come and replace the torsion spring on either Friday or Saturday. Got a few quotes and made an appointment for the following week. I was going to try to fix it myself and found that no one carries these springs except when you order through the internet... I was told it was a liability issue... go figure. I finally called SoCal Garage Doors and these guys were available on Saturday. The repairman came over to fixed my door. He was done within 45 minutes, replaced all the questionable parts, made sure the door operated properly and still charged me less than anyone else. On top of that, he was a very nice individual. This is the second garage door company that I have had a problem with within the last week. After having a problem with GSM Garage Doors, I made an appointment with SoCal Garage Doors to go out to my customer's house to help me with a garage door that wasn't working and was not shutting flush to the floor. I talked to Gus at SoCal Garage Doors and had explained how I had a really bad taste in my mouth about GSM Garage Doors and wanted another company to help me out. We made an appointment for Gus to go out to my customer's house in El Cajon on Friday December 3rd in the morning. I went to a job that morning for my business and got back in the afternoon and had not received a phone call from Gus or my customer. I was a little concerned about the situation, but I thought that Gus and my customer had worked out another time. Come Monday, I called both Gus and my customer back and still no answer from either. On that same afternoon, I got a call back from my customer and she told me that no one ever showed up or even gave her a call. After I talked to her, I called Gus from SoCal Garage Doors and he answered the phone. After telling him who I was, I asked him why he didn't show up to my customer's house on Friday. He told me that his power steering went out on his truck and that he didn't get home until about 7pm that night. I told him that it was not an excuse for not giving me or my customer a phone call to let us know that he was not going to show up. I was also upset that it was three days later that I finally found out what happened. Last month I asked my prayer group buddies for referrals to garage door companies. I received three numbers and started calling. One wouldn't give any information over the phone. Another literally wanted me to shop at Home Depot (and use their design website) then call him to do the job. And then there was Gus Garcia from SoCal. Gus came out right away to bid the job. I liked his attitude, friendly style, and I liked that he was negotiable for what I needed him to do. He was patient with me for two weeks as I chose a door style and color. As soon as I made a choice, he came out to repair my broken springs so that my old door would work okay until we could put in the new doors, etc. Today he was on-site for approximately 6-7 hours: removing two doors (a double and a single-wide), installing all new tracks for both doors, installed the new doors and hardware, installed a brand new 8550W LiftMaster opener, moved my old opener (it still worked) to the small door, programmed the remotes and installed an outdoor keypad. He did a "pretty good" job sweeping up and I helped with the rest. And he hauled away the old wooden doors. I bought my house in April 2012, and the roll up garage door was not installed properly so kept having little problems with it. I installed the garage door opener they left behind to no avail, so i bought a new Chamberlain 3/4 hp from Costco and installed it.
