Player safety is clearly not a priority here. I've played and captained coed teams for 8yrs but the recent mismanagement is unacceptable. Teams are routinely placed in leagues they don't belong in, resulting in blowout games, aggressive behavior, and zero competitive balance. On top of that, there have been multiple serious assaults, including me being hit in the face by a player wearing a watch and one of my players being punched and kicked in the head with no consequences. Instead of addressing safety issues, their solution was to move my beginner team up a division without notice, after we had already paid and no refunds. I would strongly warn others that if you value fair play or basic safety, look elsewhere. read more

What a great spot to have so close to home. We've been wanting to get out 3 year old into soccer for some time but never wanted to make the jump because of the heat. We stumbled upon SoccerZone and decided to give it a shot. We signed up for a free trial class online without any issue and couldn't be happier. This place is very poorly managed. Referees play favorites towards their friends. As a result many injuries and conflicts occur. The leagues are tiered in name only; you have semi-pro players subbing into bottom tier adult leagues and the people that are supposed to oversee this and keep it fair don't give a damn. If you bring any of this up to management they will not care or give you some canned BS reply that doesn't do anything in reality. I would strongly advise anyone reading this comment to seek a different soccer venue. read more

This place used to be great. A lot of fun for friends and family to get together and play on a soccer league for fun. After 4 years we are leaving along with numerous other teams due to the poor management by Edgar. Moving teams to higher leagues so his team can get the edge on winning. Very POOR refs that allow players to get hit on the field with no calls. We have emailed senior leadership but have never received a response to our email or a phone call even though we requested one. I'd think twice about signing up here until there are some leadership changes. It's such a shame because we used to truly enjoy playing on this league. read more

Be careful the cost scam. If you sign up a team, the website won't tell you a $30 membership per player is require. They may say require membership, and not mention price. Which would confuse you because sign up a member is free. After sign up the team, paid deposit, then an email will tell you every player need to pay a $30 annual membership fee. If you have 10 players, you already paid $900 for the winter league team, now you need to pay $300 more. More crazy happen is when you invite a guest player to play just one game for your team. They will ask that guest player to pay $30 annual membership fee as well. I never heard that from any tournament. Basically I am disappointed how the fee is communicated. They need to be more transparent in the sign up process. read more

My son attended camp at SoccerZone in the summer of 2024. I was initially impressed with the lunch options available, and my son said he enjoyed the camp after the first day. However, on the second day, I received a call from a counselor informing me that my son had "got hit and blacked out," and when he came to, he said he was "seeing stars." When I arrived about 10 minutes later, my son was sitting alone with no counselor nearby. There was no one to explain what had happened or to check on his well-being. Later, my son told me that the child had slide-tackled him while wearing cleats. He flipped in the air and hit his head on the students cleat. He mentioned that this child had done it multiple times throughout the day and had been reprimanded by staff. Unfortunately, we ended up visiting the ER, where after an MRI, my son was diagnosed with a severe concussion. The next day, I called SoccerZone to inform them of the situation's seriousness and to request a refund for the remainder of the week since my son was not cleared for any activities. It has now been two months, and I have yet to receive any response by phone or email. I am disappointed with how the camp managed this situation, especially given the seriousness of a head injury. Consequently, we will not return or recommend this facility to friends or family. read more

Soccer Cubs wasn't a good fit for us with two year olds unfortunately but I'm sure it's great for older kids. The curriculum just wasn't designed for kiddos this young and the instructors couldn't pivot when the kids couldn't do the activities. Halfway through a class most of the kids and parents would give up. We quit going after two classes because it just felt like a lot of effort and our twins didn't love it. read more

My son plays in their summer and winter indoor soccer league, when the weather is either too rainy/cold or too hot for outdoor games. Games are scheduled ahead of time, and a roster is posted online. Your team can arrive early and warm up on a small, fenced-in outdoor practice pitch. When it's time to play, your team will do so on the larger indoor pitch. Games always start and end on time, which is much appreciated. This is the best SoccerZone location for spectators, as you can watch from a very nice upstairs deck. It provides a dfferent perspective. I can also see a lot better without a filmy fiberglass partition in the way. The deck also doubles as a bar and snack area. I haven't tried it out personally, but popcorn and nachos seem popular with folks. We're here once a week during the summer and winter. The facility is generally clean and well maintained, although their bathrooms could do with more frequent checks and tidying up, especially toward the end of the day. read more

This is a 2 part review. Men's indoor soccer league(****4 stars****) -- this is where they do a good job. Games are almost always on time. The latest I have ever seen one start is 5 minutes after the scheduled start time. Refs are hit or miss. Some a great and some are ok. The field itself is well kept and the recently added big a$$ fans are nice and do a good job of keeping things "cool". Youth soccer program (**2 stars**) - this is where things fall apart. They have different age groups And I can comment on the 3/4 and 4/5 group. For the most part the kids teaching this are highly unengaged. There are a couple that are good and a few that are great. My biggest issue is how things are run. Sometimes classes are huge and might have 10-12 kids. Generally how they run things is they have a coach and the assistant. From what I've seen is that the assistant really doesn't do much. The biggest issue is when they do drills. And I'll admit, this is also on the parents too. When they do drills they generally have a single line for all kids to be in. When the classes are huge this becomes a big issue. Kids have varying skill and I get that - they are kids still learning. When they run drills they generally want a kid entirely through before the next kids starts. This take forever for all 10-12 kids and they generally get bored and unengaged. You add this along with the few parents who pay zero attention to their kids who are running all over the place or laying down getting in the way of everyone else and you have chaos. I get that children are tough to manage and some of this is on the parents for not being involved - especially the parents who have kids that cannot follow instructions and they do absolutely nothing about it. read more

The experience from the beginning when we booked the party, the call to touch base a week beforehand, and the actual party was so smooth and I can't rave more about how helpful their staff was and how nice they were throughout the entire process. I have been here for a soccer game and also for a free Saturday morning boot camp. There is an impressive bar upstairs that overlooks the open venue. There is a snack bar next to the door, children's bouncy house under the bar and separate outside area. The Saturday morning workout is at 9 and free. It was pretty intense. Managed poorly compared to the South location. The staff at the South location are very friendly, accommodating and do a great job of facilitating everything to keep the games fair and enjoyable. On the flip side, the staff at this North location is basically a small clique of friends who only care about being cool with each other and couldn't care less about the players. I know of many players and teams who quit playing North because of the staff. I'm not sure how the SoccerZone boss could allow management at one location to be far superior than another location. read more

I'm a Dad, Coach and Player. Dad - My two younger kids love the Summer and Winter leagues, although the Summer games on the outdoor field get VERY hot for the players and families watching. Their various soccer and non-soccer summer camps have entertained our kids as well. It is unfortunate kids "age out" at 14 and cannot play indoors until age 18. Coach - SoccerZone offers their outdoor field for a very reasonable price when bad weather closes down my practice field at Brushy Creek. I have rented their field several times the past few seasons to conduct training sessions. No issues here. Player - I have been in their Men's league for several seasons and they have always provided great customer service for me and our team. Since 'Plex closed down, their leagues have been MORE than full. With leagues playing back to back, including outdoor games, the parking problem has continued to get worse, at least on Tuesday nights. Other than parking, I wish they had an O40 league... but that would probably be difficult to do right now. I deal mostly with Niki and Edgar but all of their staff are friendly, courteous and helpful - including the refs. Keep up the good work, SoccerZone! read more

I've been playing here for years now. Its always a great experience. The entire facility is kept up nicely, the staff is friendly and the beer is very cold (and cheap!). It's nice to have a beer on the upper deck after a game and brag about the "meg" you had with your buddies. I highly recommend a visit, even if you are new to soccer. My son has been playing soccer twice a week at this facility. He loves the coaches and they make the classes fun. The first session my son attended to he was one of the oldest and his skills were above most of the kids in the team. My son loved it, but everyone else didn't. I wish they would pay more attention to their skills and place them in the appropriate group instead of just throwing them all in one group based on age. Now he is attending academy, and I like that they work with them at a different level. The problem is that there is 15 kids for one coach and just not enough play time. Some of the drills are really fun but it gives each player 20 seconds of play time and 2 minutes waiting for the next turn. Not ideal at all. read more

I am disappointed that we continue to sign up for summer soccer at an indoor facility and we are made to play outside in 100+weather on a tiny field. Are they signing on more teams than they can accommodate indoor? When I asked about why this keeps happening - I am told that "everyone has to take a turn playing outside". I would like to know why that is - their service is supposed to be indoor soccer - not a rotating schedule for indoor space. PLEASE PLEASE someone open another facility because they do whatever they want because they are the only one In the area and therefore are not interested in pleasing their customers - just collecting their money. My kids (girl age 7 and boy age 9) went to a half-day all-sports summer camp here for a week. It claims the camp offers...world class instruction and that the kids will develop their athletic skills by playing various sports. It was tons of physical activity, more like an extended PE with various physical games but not so much sports except for soccer. That aside, the young instructors were immature and unprofessional. Before the start of camp on the first day, a couple of the instructors continuously and purposely kicked a soccer ball against the clear plastic wall directly towards the faces of several young girls on the other side of the wall scaring them. The instructors then did a motion with their fingers to their eyes and then to the girls to imply "I'm watching you." What a great start to the week at camp. During activities, the instructors tended to take over the games rather than letting the kids play it themselves. Probably worst of all was that the counselors told the campers at the beginning of camp each day that they would get slushies if every one was good for the day and then at the end of each day, they said, "Oh, we changed our mind. No slushies." Never once did the campers get slushies. You can't promise a child something based on good behavior and then "change your mind." If they didn't get it because of behavior, then explain that to them. Also, you can't let a few "bad" campers ruin it for the rest of the group, especially when the group is close to 50 kids. There were several other things that the instructors did that was clearly a sign of a little to no training on how to interact with young kids. It's understood that most camp counselors are going to be teenagers but if they are going to work with kids, they should receive some training and supervision on how to interact positively with kids. The kids in camp think the counselors - because they are teenagers - are "cool" so the counselors should act like role models, not dictators. read more

Facility seems new, but that could be a blessing and a curse. Staff is friendly enough, tries to address your questions but I got conflicting answers. They seem to be still working out kinks so ask A LOT of questions, because as far as logistics go it's crazy and they'll be the first to agree with you. It's not clear who's actually in charge and they didn't seem to have control over the leagues holding summer camps at their venue. When asked about multiple issues/concerns about the Austin Premiere Academy Summer Camp they distance themselves from APA and repeat, "They just rent the space from us." However, communication throughout initial inquiry and registration was exclusively with Soccerzone Lakeline. APA has no contact information anywhere either on the web or otherwise except through Soccerzone (payment, phone #, contact staff, website, address, etc.) I signed up my 6yo for the August 11-15 session morning half day (9-1) with Austin Premiere Academy at Soccerzone Lakeline. Here's what I got: 1. Wrong coaches: Info on Soccerzone Lakeline website specified 2 coaches (name withheld here) "Two of the best soccer coaches in all of Texas" and one of the reasons I hit the "Pay Now" button. Never met either one. Neither Soccerzone Lakeline nor the 2 replacement coaches informed us or explained the change. 2. Fee and time discrepancies: Morning session is really just 9-12, since they all eat lunch from 12-1 pm. Your kid can pack a lunch or buy food at the concessions and eat there until 1 pm, but the morning is really done by noon. You can skip lunch altogether and just pick them up at noon. Morning Session: 9-12noon vs Afternoon session: 1-5pm. 3 hours in the a.m vs 4 hours in the p.m. Same price. You do the math. 3. MIsleading info: Quite a big age window (5-14) so if your child does not do well with older kids, this may not be the camp for you. Also, according to who I spoke with at Soccerzone Lakeline, no equipment and no prior experience necessary. The kids there have had prior experience and had cleats and shin guards. Also coaches instructed kids to bring their ball everyday. Luckily my kid had a ball already. 4. Bully breeding ground: On Soccerzone Lakeline's website, it says that with APA Soccer Camp "Hard work, respect, sportsmanship, and leadership are strongly emphasized ." Here's what happened: older children were kicking their balls at my kid to clear out the practice area for themselves, one older kid pushed my child off the bench constantly at break time, same kid tells my child on several occasions, "You made us lose" in front of everyone. Neither one of the coaches even mentioned anything about respect, sportsmanship which they claim they "strongly emphasize." Nope. Not a peep. We're no crybabies nor are we tattle-tales and we understand team sport is rough with many different personalities, but there were many teachable moments here and the coaches failed miserably. My kid is yet a little tougher. 5. Camp promise not delivered: Camp description on Soccerzone Lakeline's website states "your child will develop soccer skills." Meh. Sure, my kid is having fun running around and kickin' a ball with other kids, but it's more like a drop-off daycare. Last day, they played a variety of ball games and dodgeball. If you expect something like a soccer clinic, nope, this ain't it. So, an indoor venue, adult supervision, and a kid who's not bored for 3 hours for a week, oh, and a t-shirt - that's really what you get. Or you can just arrange playdates. Not doing this camp again. read more

Loved playing here. Organization is appalling. And I'll be banned for this review; already seen that happen. Many of us have tried to discuss this with ownership, but suggestions and criticism fall on deaf ears. Used to play twice a week on two different teams. First team was cut out of the upcoming season because we "didn't pay in time", despite multiple attempts to pay early, in-full, by credit card over the phone. The staff couldn't accommodate. So a team who always paid their dues in one lump sum in-full before their first game for 3 seasons in a row was intentionally left off the upcoming schedule. Customer service! The second team was turned into a 'house team' because we had only 6 players the first game. It was then permanently combined with the other house team who had just 4 players. Understandable, but if we were notified ahead of time about this situation, we would have said we have 3 more guys who weren't able to make the first game. The decision was irreversible, but "we can have up to 12 guys on the team so there's still room for your friends to join". Thanks no thanks. The ownership rightfully doesn't care about this at all. There's a line around the block of people wanting to play here. Rates keep going up and if they're smarter and more organized than they seem, business must be good. Can't wait for some competition. read more

This place is awesome. Great indoor field, friendly staff, and a bar above the field for after game festivities, where you can watch other teams play or even a replay of your game on the TV screens. We have had a team here for nearly two years. I've read some of the negative reviews and those do not gel with my experience. I suppose it is likely that if you do not pay or register before a full schedule is posted, you may not get to play that season, which would make sense as they are not going to then shuffle the entire schedule for you, and there are only a certain number of time slots per night. But we have always found the staff accommodating, even within hours of the schedule being posted. read more

My review is solely about the soccer Cubs program for kids. Coaches are great and very knowledgable of the game. The weekly clinics are good drills that teach foot-eye coordination and ball control. While the drills teach great techniques, the coaches don't have good control over the kids and don't correct them either. The clinic offers consistent exposure to soccer year round (indoors). However, I just wish that they would incorporate scrimmaging into the clinic. It would really help to put the skills into practical use. read more
