Decor outside with all the statues remind me of Caesars Palace in Vegas. The terrace where we sat was also lovely and felt very private for our party of 13. We enjoyed a brunch on a Sunday and though the server wasn't chatty, he did bring drinks and food promptly. For large parties they do charge 20% gratuity minimum. The presentation and food was what I expected for a restaurant like this. I had the eggs benedict with smoked salmon. Enjoyed every bit of this and my caesar was perfect!! Love to come back for happy hour!

Come eat where the Roman Gods hang out. This restaurant is tucked away in a section of Coal Harbour - downtown, that you could easily miss. There's just something about it if you're looking around & upwards, you might actually miss it - if it weren't for the Roman Gods statues outside. I've never had any reason to walk in this particular area. Now across the street by the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, that's a whole different story with all the action happening over there. I had not been to Social Corner in years. The last time I ate at SC was at the original location in Yaletown. I do remember having an awesome burger there & absolutely loving it. Not quite sure why I didn't go back but most probably - so many restaurants in town, so little time. See my review for SC Yaletown. The interior design of this Coal Harbour location, is swanky, upscale & bougie. The enclosed patio will be a hit in the summer when the roof covering is pulled back. Our waitress was wonderful & pleasant. Good vibes were playing in the background. I had one of the best Old Fashioned cocktails I've ever had, right here. The Lobster & Crab Ravioli with added Shrimp was magnificent. It tasted on point delightful. The Burger is absolutely makes my top 3 list in Metro Vancouver. If you're out & about in this part of downtown, look for the Roman God statues. If they eat here, well then it must be super awesome. Hot tip alert - up till April 30, it's 25% off the entire (not alcohol) menu! Make a reservation pronto!

Incredible service, incredible food, incredible wine. Great spot for a fancy evening meal or happy hour; fantastic pizza and pasta options, fair amount of vegetarian and a few vegan / gluten free dishes. Definitely a strong meat / seafood / vegetarian menu - wine menu is fabulous. Had the paella, gnocchi, garlic bread, pepperoni pizza, muscle pasta and would certainly returned again. Must visit while in VYR!

High ceiling and spacious. They offer regular table and bar height table. Very loud music and quite hard to talk. The beef burger with brioche is delicious. Truffle fries normal. The pizza dough is quite sweet which we don't quite like. Salad is normal. Overall a decent dining experience but the music is disturbing.

Prices do not match the experience or food. This is my third time visiting the social corner. the location in yaletown was a hit and miss. I was however, so excited to see this new location and thought i'd give it a chance. The ambiance and decor is absolutely stunning! It's in a great spot right near the water and some nice hotels. The vibes = immaculate. We came for happy hour and ordered the burger (which i've heard is one of the best in van--not NEAR it in my opinion, the meat was high quality but the rest was meh). The fries were good and fresh though. The Cesar salad was pretty good, too! The service was extremely lacking. Our waitress was nice but she didn't once check on us after the food was delivered. Our waters were empty and I was ready for a pop refill and nothing! We almost had to beg for help and a dessert menu. For such a "premium" experience and high prices, i'm really not impressed. They either need more employees or need to train to provide better service.

social corner's new coal harbour location at 1050 west cordova street, right across from the fairmont pacific rim, flanked by nine impressive roman statues, is a stunning addition to the vancouver dining scene. had brunch here with the ladies, a party of three at 1:30 pm on a monday, and we ended up staying for over three hours. it was lively and a bit on the louder side, but we could still chat comfortably, so maybe we had to ask, 'what did you say' a few times, but didn't have to raise our voices. the space itself is absolutely stunning: high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows that flood the room with natural light, warm amber pendant lights, and elegant white tile with copper accents behind the bar. long banquette seating, soft curtains, glowing fireplaces and little table lamps add a cozy, intimate touch that makes it perfect for a long, leisurely meal. one of the most striking design features is a wall of champagne bottles displayed in precise rows on sleek wooden shelves. the way the light hits the glass creates a warm, golden glow that feels both luxurious and inviting, a perfect backdrop for brunch, happy hour or evening drinks. whether you're here for the food, the ambiance, to impress someone or just to have a glass of bubbly, this spot delivers a refined yet relaxed experience with style. even though they're still in their soft opening phase, the service (thanks, holly!) was friendly, and personable. the menu is nearly identical to the michelin recommended homer street location, but this one includes a new addition, a whole branzino, available in limited quantities. we each had a mimosa (i went with pineapple and a splash of passionfruit) and shared the diavola pizza with san marzano tomato sauce, soppressata picante, fior di latte, and mediterranean black olives; the goat cheese salad; and the warm mixed mediterranean olives. the neopolitan pizza was ultra thin, and soggy in the middle, came with scissors for cutting, and had just the right amount of spicy kick. the salad was a standout, crispy goat cheese balls, cherry tomatoes, candied walnuts, and heritage greens lightly tossed in a pear truffle vinaigrette, finished with a touch of parmigiano. a gorgeous space, great food, and warm service, this new social corner location is definitely worth a visit.

This new location is a great spot to check out if you're in Coal Harbour. Beautiful decor and very busy. The cool place to hang out. Tried pizza with egg which was unique and a huge paella to share!

    The burger Social Corner

Favourite spot in Coal Harbour--especially if you're craving a really good burger. The quality is consistently on point, super juicy, full of flavour, and honestly one of the best in the area. The atmosphere is what really makes it though. It's lively, stylish, and just has that perfect energy whether you're there during the day or at night. Service is always friendly and makes the whole experience even better. With the location so close to BC Place, it's an easy choice before or after any event. This will definitely be my go-to spot for the World Cup--great food, great drinks, and an amazing vibe to watch the games. Highly recommend.

Went for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Ambiance and decor is great, food was good but a little pricey.

Went for my birthday brunch. Great food, ambience, and service. They also brought out a dessert on the house with a candle on it. Thank you.

Our server was attentive and around when we needed something but never interrupting, and his recommendations ended up being some of our favourite dishes. The anchovy olives were a standout, super crispy, packed with flavour, and not overly fishy at all (great if you're a bit hesitant about anchovies). The mushroom toast was rich, savoury, and full of umami. Just a heads up not to let it sit too long since it softens the bread. The tuna tartare was fresh and well-balanced. Not my personal favourite served on toast, but still really enjoyable overall. The paella was excellent, perfectly cooked shrimp, tclams, and crispy pork belly chicharrón that added the best salty, fatty crunch. The roasted cabbage completely surprised me and was easily one of the best veggie dishes I've had in a while. I could have eaten a whole plate of it. We wrapped things up with churros and shared a pitcher of sangria. For three people, it came out to about $68 each before tip, which felt very fair for how much we ordered. Would definitely recommend.

As well, the manchego was so tiny it was like a shaving . The bone marrow amounted to about three teaspoons of marrow. We were so sad and dissatisfied. The patatas bravas was okay. Unfortunately we do not have a reason to return.

We had begun our night at Bar Gobo and just was not feeling it, so we decided to come to La Boqueria instead for dinner. We were able to get a table right away with a quick phone call, and they saved us a table upon our arrival! We mainly came here for wine and the delicious Pintxos, and between the two of us we shared a bottle of the Blasted Church Hatfields Fuse, and a platter of 5 Pintxos (great date meal!). Due to the current circumstances they seemed to be understaffed so the food was taking longer than usual so they offered us a complimentary dish of Pulpo a la Gallega - perfectly cooked giant octopus with potato, mayo and paprika - if I knew how delicious it was I would have definitely ordered it as an appy! The Pintxos are to die for - perfect for sharing. Our favourite was probably the negitoro, and the ultimate sardine. The platter of 5 is a perfect portion for 2 people and a great way to try a selection of Pintxos and a delicious explosion of variety of flavors. This place is a must-visit for seafood lovers, and such a unique offering comparing to the many tapas options in the city. My only feedback is I would have probably liked a more extensive list of red wine; maybe more full bodied reds? The cocktail list also looks amazing as well but sharing a bottle of wine is such a great date idea that we decided to leave the cocktails for our next visit. If you are looking for an unique romantic date night spot, I would highly recommend La Boqueria because it will be sure to delight and surprise your date with a great meal, ambiance, and great service. Truly a hidden gem in Vancouver for seafood and wine lovers. They are only open for dinner service for now so be sure to make a reservation.

From the outside,it looked like a normal house in an industrial area. But walking through the doors, I was greeted by what felt like family! The decor was minimalistic but packed with so much flavour ( just like the food). We got the fois gras which was unlike any other I've had. It was covered with a sugary brûlée crust that added so much more dimension to its flavour and texture. This was also served with bread from the local bakery. We also got the seafood paella, which was super intimidating at first the platter looked HUGE on the table next to us, but turned out to be a good size. Really happy with the experience.

The cozy converted house was full but not loud with dim lighting and close‑set tables for an almost home‑dinner vibe. From my visit, we shared three standout plates. The alcachofas con jamón paired confit baby artichokes with roasted onion and jamón Ibérico. It was a good balance of textures and classic Spanish seasoning. The ensalada de ajo blanco con tomates asados y atún semicurado brought a creamier, richer profile: silky almond‑garlic dressing on fire‑roasted tomatoes with chunks of semi‑cured tuna and a drizzle of ash oil that added a nice aromatic note. The arroz negro arrived with seafood mixed into deeply flavoured squid‑ink rice; it was hot, savoury, and rich, perfect with a squeeze of lemon and garlicky aioli. Service was a definite high point! It was warm, knowledgeable, and paced so we weren't rushed. Portions were generous enough for sharing among two, especially with the more substantial rice dish in play. That said, the overall meal trended toward the rich and dense, so pairing with a couple of the lighter salads or crisp wines next time would help round things out. Would recommend for for date nights, small groups, or anyone curious about Spanish flavours. Lighter eaters might want to mix in a salad or a vegetable forward plate to balance the richer offerings.

There is nothing as familial as tapas and these will make you want to have a get together. Cojonudo & Cojonuda had deep porky flavours, refreshed by juicy roasted peppers. The tease of the fried quail egg was just over the top. We particular loved the rice sausage as we got a hit of fragrant rice as well. Sobrasada & Queso Valdeon was an unique and one of a kind experience. Super intense! The smoky spices of the pate really reinforced the underlying complex flavour profile of the blue cheese. This is perfect with a glass of wine. These crispy fried croquetas containing bechamel sauce and either fresh sweet prawns, mushrooms, or ham, are quite addictive. Not as rich as we thought and the filling was like fried milk donuts, so had a very contrasting but pleasant texture. Last but not least. The escalivada con garbanzos with anchovies, roasted garlic, peppers and onions. Got to get something healthy right? This was such a comfort dish, remind us of summer get-togethers with relatives. Sweet garlic and gently soft peppers and onions, savoury umami from anchovies (not pungent at all) really went well to elevate the chickpeas. The nutty sweetness from the liberal use of olive oil tied everything together. We would love to try a few more of their creations once covid is over as tapas are best to be shared with friends with tons of wines.
