After some arduous Christmas shopping at Cabela's, my wife and I stopped here for a bite before heading back to Ann Arbor. We were in the mood for burgers, and lo and behold, we walked in on burger night (Wednesday)! Nice discount on the moo-cake sammies. My wife got the basic "Socialburger" (lettuce/tomato/American cheese), I went for the PB & Pig (peanut butter, cheddar, bacon). I really liked the combination of toppings on mine, though the meat came well-done when I'd ordered it medium. My wife was happy with hers, though hers actually came medium as ordered. She got the fries and thought they were fine. My onion rings were ok...crispy, though some were dripping grease when I bit them. I've paid more for worse...but less for better. read more

Their food at this restaurant was excellent. All their meals come with onion rings as the side unless you choose to upgrade, the onion rings are crispy and light and so good. I tried a burger and it did not disappoint! It was definitely unlike any other burger I've ever had before with a combination of three different types of meat in it. The service was great. Was very disappointed. I asked for Diet Coke or Pepsi and stated they were out of it. They offered me Mountain Dew. Did not want it. So I got raspberry ice tea. I had one refill and when I got the bill they charged me $9.00 for my iced tea. I would had free refill if I had Diet Pepsi. I complained to the waitress and nothing wasn't done. The glazed salmon wasn't that good. The glazed flavor was off. I wasn't impressed with the food. The only thing is good is the hamburger and nothing can't go wrong with that. read more

Social House 103 is located on the same parking lot as Cabela's in Dundee. It is located along the main road in a strip by Tim Horton's. A friend suggested we try this restaurant because we were in the area. It has a very welcoming exterior and very clean interior. There are tables, booths and a bar area for seating. We were welcomed and sat at a booth immediately. Our server also took our drink order upon as sitting down. She was efficient throughout our dining experience. I ordered a hamburger with tator tots. The hamburger was very juicy and tasty. The tator tots were very ordinary, perhaps frozen and cooked. My husband ordered a pulled pork sandwich with steak fries. He really enjoyed his sandwich but agreed his fries were nothing special. The atmosphere was good and the service was top notch. read more

Let me just start by saying that this was the best first time dining experience I've ever had. Our waitress Dawn was lovely the manager and chef came to our table after hearing it's our first time there and the food couldn't be better. It's inexpensive and I felt like I was on vacation what more could you want in a restaurant? I came home and told my neighbors who haven't been there either and we're going to double date next weekend there ! They brought over a signed card thanking us for our first time visit and even included a free appetizer I recommend the queso dip and cheese. Stopped in for an early lunch (11:30) on a Tuesday. Three parking lot was empty but even in their busy times the lot looks big enough. Walked in to be greeted right away and sat at a booth. Our server came over quickly to take our drink order. It's a pretty extensive menu with lots of original offerings....if only I could eat more at a sitting I also wanted to try over of their delicious sounding cocktails but since we still had some driving to do I passed I ordered the Detroit Dog ($13) is huge at 1/2 lb all beef. It's splint open with chili on top. It's real chili too, not just chili sauce. Lovely grill marks and taste Hubby ordered the Big Guy ($16) with signature mac & cheese as the side($2 upcharge). The burger is also huge and of so delicious! The mac & cheese would be good as the meal We were given to go drinks, thank you. I never felt rushed during the meal and service was good. Stopped in for lunch and had a great burger! Nothing special just the basic burger but with bacon added. Great flavor, nicely cooked and seasoned, was great! Also had the salmon which was really good, and the loaded tots which were amazing! Had a cheese sauce with just the right amount of kick. The pork chops were also really good and had a variety of sauces to choose as a topping. They also have some domes set up out front. Not sure if they are for temperature control or social distancing, but they look cool and would be awesome to eat in. Just a heads up, you will need a reservation to eat in them. read more

This pains me to give only 2 stars, since the food is good at Social. But luck of the draw, I showed up slightly after an out of town baseball team. So several tables full of the kids and several more with their parents. So I expected the kitchen to be slow. And it was. As a single diner, a burger shouldn't take so long. But what earned Social the duece was the SLOW bar. I definitely shouldn't have had to wait 15 min for a Mojito. After all, the kids aren't drinking, and the parents aren't drinking as they've got a way to drive home yet tonight. And the tables with the kids dressed for prom tonight weren't drinking. So why was the bar so slow?! Riddle me that one Batman! Oh, lest I forget, no salt and pepper on the table and couldn't catch anyone's attention to get some hot sauce for the bland chili. read more

My wife and I decided to give the place a go recently. We were looking for a new steak place and hoped this would have been it. In truth, we discovered that we were not as social as this place would have us be. The place was packed, I would imagine due to the "Faster Horses" concert festival at MIS, but we still managed to get a table - smack dab in the middle of the traffic pattern of the floor. We spend most of the meal feeling jumpy and being surrounded by the ebb and flow of humanity as they moved from door to bathroom to kitchen to table. This was broken up by the overly loud pop music - so we had THAT going for us. We sat for a good long time, we were even discussing how invisible we were to the wait staff and to which other area food place we were going to go to, when we were saved by a sharp-eyed server that looked eerily similar to Winnie Cooper from the TV program Wonder Years. She was the saving grace of our visit. "Winnie" made sure we had out drinks and even took our order to give to the kitchen until they could locate our actual server. She deserves a raise, straight up. We were on the way out and she knew it. Kudos! The wife's steak and lobster tail were pretty good, the temperature was correct but was a bit under-seasoned. The tails were cooked properly, but underwhelming. All in all a decent surf and turf you can fix with condiments. My chicken breasts were also a bit under seasoned, but nice. A bit on the smaller side. The mac-n-cheese was good, I wish the salt on this dish was used on my chicken! Onion rings are good, I suggest you eat them first and finish them off, cold rings are soggy. I don't think we'll be back anytime soon, maybe in the fall. Still, if you like O.K. food and a good booze selection, say "Hi" to Winnie for me! read more

We had a great time here on Saturday evening. We almost stopped in town, til we realized that all the lawn chairs on the street probably meant a parade was about to start. We'd already been away from home all day at competition, so we just wanted food and an uneventful drive home. Social House 103 was comfortable and our food was great. I had a burger, hubs had the steak, and the kids had a burger and the mac & cheese. While the mac & cheese wasn't my daughter's favorite, she did eat enough to make it through the day. Everything else we ordered was completely finished. I had started off with the hard vanilla root beer and it was also wonderful. Warmed my soul after a long and tiring day. If we find ourselves out that way and hungry, I'd love to return. read more

This is our first time at Social House 103. We went for lunch on a Sunday. I looked at the menu before we got there. Then I saw the brunch menu. Chicken and biscuits!!! They were delicious. I can't wait to go on Wednesday evening for the burger specials. Drink menu looked great with specials on certain nights. My husband got a burger with onion rings. He was happy with it. The only good thing about the dinner was the service. The crotons in the tomato bisque were stale. Our burger was undercooked and made the bun soggy. The salad had mostly yellow and very pale lettuce. The fruit even tasted as if they came out of a can. Really disappointed in the quality of the food and will not be trying again. read more

I appreciate the person taking the order/server asking if I want it sauce on my salmon; the menu suggest several options as a glaze; all of which or either a fruit that I am trying to avoid, or spiciness which I'm also trying to avoid. They were accommodating by cooking my salmon the way I would like: olive oil and salt; this is a first for me! The facility is clean and organized. The employee behind the bar, taking orders, informed me without me inquiring the very pins that I was using to sign my receipt, had been sanitized... Positives: The hamburgers--a mixture of chuck, brisket, and short rib--are five star. No better combination of meat in a burger. The manager who seated me was very nice; and our waiter provided adequate, friendly service. Negatives: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Like many restaurants, this one will lose business because their music is much too loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am a former restaurant/nightclub manager. Good music can enhance the ambience of a bar/restaurant like this. But when the music is too loud to carry on a conversation or conduct a business lunch, then some customers won't return--or come in as often as they would otherwise. Also, our waiter (though a nice young man) was unkempt, with blue jeans that were completely wrinkled and falling down. While most of the wait and management staff looked sharp with clean, pressed jeans and shirts, this waiter's appearance was slovenly and unkempt. Once again--casual attire for waitstaff is fine--but it should be neat and presentable--otherwise it reflects poorly upon the restaurant. Also, some of the kitchen staff have a similar unkempt, dirty appearance. While they could get away with this they remained behind the scenes, if they are spending time in the dining room, they should dress more neatly. Condiments should be kept on the table. Having the server bring them out each time a meal is served creates extra work for servers; and since they sometimes forget, creates an unnecessary issue for customers, who have to flag down their server to get salt or ketchup. Lastly, food presentation needs more attention. When you have the best burger in the county, you want to do more than just slap it on a plate with some fries. Add a pickle or garnish--and make the presentation of the burger as good as the burger itself. These issues are easily correctable and would put this restaurant in 4 to 5 star range. read more

I had the bbq chicken salad and a cup of tomato bisque. While my husband had the same salad and chicken noodle soup also super good! We had a reservation for one of the igloos outdoors so we could social distance and it worked great, had an electric heater. The food was tasty- ordered a rib-eye with lobster tail and it turned out perfect to our order and was enough to share. Our server was Paulina, and she did a great job. She made the experience really fun. Special kudos for a well chosen beer list and drink list that kept our group cheery. Expensive, trendy, overpriced, cutesy, and did I mention expensive for what you get? Wife and I decided to try this relatively new restaurant the other day. She ordered chicken and waffle and I got the boneless wings and a side of $4 tater tots because, well, I just had to see what $4 tater tots were all about. Chicken was very good. Was it worth paying $1 for each boneless wing... nah not even close. But the brown tipped celery was a nice touch. (See photo) Tater tots $4 worth it? I felt robbed. I forgot to take a picture but it was about a handful of tots on a small plate. Crisp but oily. Ore ida could be a trillion dollar company if they charged this much for tots! Chicken and waffles - chicken was good but the bland waffle left my wife wondering why. Her comment was, if you are going to charge these prices your waffle better be excellent not coney island kid menu quality. Service was very good. Ambiance was blah. The music music (not live) was SO loud everyone had to talk loudly at their tables to be heard over it. Happy hour $5 apps might be worth another try but for us there is as good if not better food at far more reasonable prices and portions elsewhere in the area. read more
