My friends & I came out this Labor Day weekend to support the Nupe Event and arrived at the Social House for the 1st time. It was a small little hidden gem, nice patio area with seating & a super fun Jenga game to play (of course a few of my friends obliged). The bartenders we met were all very nice, personable & kept our glasses fun. One bartender even let me try a new drink which he called an "adult Capri sun." I don't know the full recipe of what he put in that pouch but, let me just say, I plan to ask next time as that was best mixed drink I've tasted in a club in a verryyy longtime! I wish I would've gotten pictures to insert. But my friends and I went here to celebrate halloweekend and it was an amazing time! They have an outdoor and indoor place which was nice to have the option on where you wanted to spend time. I also wish I would've gotten the names of the bartenders because they were extremely sweet unlike other bars! Now the music, we went on a Saturday, and the DJ was playing ALLL the good songs from throw backs, to bad bunny, and country! We stopped in with our party of 4 for a late 2 PM lunch on a Friday upon arriving into Fredericksburg. The server was friendly, but way too overworked and service was very slow. Split the large Mediterranean pizza And thought it was tasty but I was surprised that this thin crust style pizza had a little bit more to to it than expected. The pizza was flavorful but nothing memorable. Unfortunately it came out rather lukewarm to make matters worse. The sandwiches sounded great so I might opt for a sandwich next time. read more

Came on a Friday evening! Very well decorated and beautiful place. Has an inside portion and outside patio with Hookah. Both inside and outside have bars. I would be hesitant to order a speciality cocktail since the bartenders took a long time to make an Aviation and were reading the ingredients off a list. But, other drinks were awesome! They put the punch in a reusable ziploc pouch. Perfect for dancing on the dance floor and avoiding anyone spilling drink on yourself!! Drinks ranged from $6-10. Crowd was good! Overall, the service was great. Drinks are strong. Dance floor is poppin'. No cover. They have valet parking OR can park in the lots next door. Will be back! read more

When somone asks your waitstaff how much for a table (after she kicked them out of the table they were sitting at because someone "bought it") You should be honest & upfront about the price, not just say "Our cheapest bottle is $60" leaving out that fact that it's considered "Bottle service" and costs the ridiculous amount of $340. Your waitress & Manager took advantage of 2 young ladies last night & you should be ASHAMED of yourselves & the thieves you hire. Terrible way to treat customers. read more

Didn't like this place too much. They didn't have any inside seating available unless you paid for the VIP section. Our friend's drink was skinned in alcohol. You park in back of the business. If you park where their stupid sign is, you get towed. Not a good experience . read more

Unfortunately I would give zero stars but there isn't an option. We ended up there on my birthday and even paid for VIP/bottle service. The DJ plays the same kind of music and doesn't mix it up at all. The dance floor was practically empty. When I made a song request the DJ said we don't play that "kind" of music here. I only asked for some upbeat 80s music or maybe some Maná. I couldn't even get a song request even for my birthday. :-( read more

I started off having a decent enough time: somewhat overpriced drinks but a nice atmosphere. But then a fight broke out next to me. I didn't realize this was the sort of trashy place to have frequent bar fights on the dance floor. It broke out right next to me and a bouncer thought I was a part of it and kicked me out - honest enough mistake, and that situation is so chaotic you can't really blame them for erring on the side of caution on their part - but then, after carrying me out of the bar, this bouncer decided to rough me up in the parking lot to drive his point home and punched me in the face a couple times. So be careful, standing in the wrong spot at the wrong time in this place might get you kicked out, ruin all your clothes by getting them covered in blood and land you with an ER bill for some stitches. read more

The ideal club! Immaculately clean inside and out with an upscale design, great lighting, and warm atmosphere. Friendly staff and doormen who treat you like a VIP, Bartenders who are quick, personable, and learn your name. A great DJ spinning tunes live, and at a volume that gets you to dance, but allows you to hold a conversation. The patrons range in age from mid 20's to 30's and are educated, well dressed, polite, friendly, and respectful of personal space. Well, I believe that the right group of people can make your experience anywhere better or worse so I will try to give just the facts on this place...but I did thoroughly enjoy myself here. -It's a little hidden. You have to know where you're going to get here. It's behind a cleaners in a corner...? -It's definitely not a club. It's a lounge. -Bouncers were cool - not douchey like a lot of places in the area -They played hip-hop and house music when I walked in at around 11:30 on a Saturday night. -The drinks were a average size/price for this area but were not very strong. The guys were definitely complaining about the pours. -It's got cool, urban, modern decor and has a cool vibe. All-in-all I enjoyed myself but there was definitely nothing that made this place stand out. I havent been back but would recommend it. read more

Used to frequent this place back when it was Grotto Bar -- always our go-to location when we don't have plans for the night. Went to the grand opening to see revamped decor with the same chill-fun feel. Now, I don't mind casual dress code, especially for my guy friends that don't want to dress up, but c'mon, there were guys in white tees. Maybe anything goes during grand opening, but kind of dampened the stylish vibe. Besides that, there is a great mixed crowd, which is rare to find in SA. Attentive bartenders, specifically outside at the covered patio where we spent most of our night. They also have hookah and great music consisting of EDM to hip-hop. They've always had great bottle service -- hopefully they kept their signature service of complimentary balloons and cupcake! read more

I reserved a VIP table for my party. Eddy who we contacted to make reservation was very pleasant, honest and easy to negotiate. The reservation was painless and easy. We have more than 50 people that went to the club and it was just us and 4 other people easy music but creating a happy atmosphere The hostess was very attentive and provided us service quickly. The attentiveness was amazing from beginning to end. When the DJ arrived - he played great music that we did not stop dancing. I usually request music to play but the DJ was able to read my mind LOl. He played great music. They provided us the bottles we wanted and mix of different kinds including Red Bull. My friends have always been visiting this place so I thought I'd give it a try. Parking sucks. The bar is next to a cleaners which I had to park on the opposite side of the parking lot, which is alright I guess not too far of a walk but... still. Atmosphere is great, they were playing awesome music throughout the night. The vibes and people there were refreshing. Definitely not one of those "ghetto" bars. Beautiful space, decent drinks, casual chic dress code and awesome music. Social House would definitely be my go to place on the weekend if I lived in the SA area. Drinks are slightly above average but worth it for the venue. Coming from NYC one drink could cost $14 so paying $14 for two drinks here brought tears of joy. There seems to be no dress code but I would best describe it as casual chic or pretty simply look presentable. Social House also had the most diverse crowd than other lounges I visited on my trip. The patio is pretty cozy with heat lamps for the cool nights. Patio also has a bar that shares the same POS system as the main bar inside. The music was hands down the best we heard the entire trip. The DJs played a fun mix of pop, hip hop and dance music which is perfect for dancing. Another plus the bottle service appeared professional and upscale. I've been to so many places where bottle service is sloppy, rude and patrons are offered disgusting furniture to sit on after dropping hundreds of dollars. Social House does fill up quickly so try to show up before 11pm to chat and have a couple of drinks. Hopefully Social House remains an upscale evening location and would definitely return here when in San Antonio. The perfect place to have a birthday party and perhaps other special events. Pro tip - Skip the $10 valet parking and use the free parking across the street. Enjoy! read more

The issue with this place was that when I asked for well drinks they poured top shelf drinks and then threw us out when we disputed the charges. We asked to speak with the manager, but the Manger was immediately combative and had me choked and dragged out when i didn't agree with his policies even though i remained civil. I'd been to Social House only twice before and it was always a good experience. The music is good, the drinks are fast and the atmosphere is what you expect in Stone Oak. It's got a fun vibe and you can just go enjoy a drink and chill. The outside area is nice too. It's not too loud that you have to yell and the crowd is a good mixture of people. This past weekend, I mistakenly left my wallet there on the bar and was lucky enough that the honest staff set it aside for me. I reached out via social media and they were so fast to respond and get it back in my hands completely in tact. The staff there is honest and treat everyone so nicely when serving drinks! The owner even went out of his way to make sure I got it back and personally showed up on everyone's day off! I will definitely continue doing business with them when my friends and I go out for drinks. Next time I'll just remember to grab all my stuff! read more

Pleasantly surprised about the renovation. When it was Grotto, it used to be the backup place to go if everything else was dead. A friend who went to the opening told me it was pretty good. The crowd was pretty diverse, good looking and clean cut. Door guy was pretty friendly and getting drinks was pretty fast, (outside) even on a SAT. The main renovations are on the outside patio, and the decor is above average for SA. Not bad. Will definitely come again. read more

I went there last Saturday and had so much fun. I don't understand why some reviewers make a big deal about the price of the drinks. They were reasonably priced compared to other bars. The place was packed with great people and great music. Parking was confusing. I paid $5 to park in the back lot behind the Social House. Valet parking is also available.
