    Prohibition old-fashioned!
    Jim M.

We tried Social Oak in Eagle on a Friday night for a night out. It's right next to Crave, which is always busy, so parking can be a bit of a challenge. We went early, before sunset, and I'll say this, the vibe feels very different in daylight. From the photos, it clearly transforms into something much more elegant at night. During the day it's more low-key, almost understated, which made some of the pricing feel a little harder to square in that moment. Yet they do have less expensive options. Service was excellent. Our server was fantastic, turns out she came from Coyne, one of our favorite spots in Eagle, and she did a great job walking us through the menu and the "Southern-inspired" concept. That said, the menu itself was a little confusing. It was described in a way that sounded like shareables, but then also like full entrees. I found myself unsure how to approach ordering, especially with the dry-aged steaks displayed up front. They look impressive, but I wasn't totally clear on how you actually order one. Food-wise, everything we had was very good. The jumbo tiger prawns to start were excellent. I had the Nashville hot chicken salad, really solid, and my wife had the eggplant tacos, which she enjoyed. Drinks were a highlight: the Prohibition Old Fashioned was great and came with a nice tableside presentation, and my wife loved the Outer Banks cocktail. One odd note: they have an extensive bourbon/whiskey selection (around 50), but only one vodka... Tito's. Not my favorite, so that felt like a miss for me. Seems like an easy fix to round that out a bit with a couple more options. We finished with churros, which were outstanding. The crowd skewed pretty young, seemed mostly 30-somethings. We and one other Gen X couple stood out a bit. It's definitely a trendy spot, and everything feels very intentional, which I appreciated. I'm just not entirely sure how the menu concept lands long-term. Overall, I'd recommend it, worth trying for sure. If I went again, I'd probably lean toward going after dark when the atmosphere matches the price point a bit more.

Another amazing visit. Krystal was incredible. Her service level is world-class and a perfect ambassador for the Brand. Just really well done. Great good. Amazing drinks and just love the ambiance. Don't even get me started on the music. Perfect!!!!!

This is not a location for a group - I'd say 2-3 people max. We had a group of 6 and were sat at one of the tiniest tables. We grabbed a few shareables and went across the street for a full meal. Everything we ordered was delicious though!

I discovered Social Oak through Instagram and was really excited to try it out. I made a reservation for the day after their soft opening and ran into a few issues while booking, eventually landing on the first available evening slot at 9:45 PM. I arrived on time and was promptly greeted and seated, which I appreciated. The atmosphere was beautiful, and you can tell a lot of thought went into the concept of the restaurant and bar. That said, I felt a bit underwhelmed by the menu overall and found the prices slightly high for the offerings. I ordered two mixed drinks -- they were tasty, but nothing particularly memorable. I also ordered the crack chix sandwich, which was absolutely delicious and the highlight of my visit. It came out about 10 minutes after ordering, which was perfect since I was starving, and I would definitely order it again. As I was finishing up, I did feel a bit rushed, as it seemed like the staff was trying to close up and I may have been in the way, which took away slightly from the experience. That said, I understand they're newly opened, and I'm willing to give them another chance. I'll likely return for the chicken and to see how things settle once they've had more time to find their rhythm.

Our server was AMAZING! I wish I would have gotten his name. He was younger with dark hair and dark eyes. He was extremely knowledgeable about the drinks and very accommodating with a few changes I wanted for my drink. He gave excellent recommendations after asking good questions. The booths were very cozy. The burger and Junebug were great. I did deduct one star because we ordered the Outer Banks which was supposed to come with citrus foam, which we were excited about. The drink came out without the couple inches of citrus foam (the drinks are small so if the details matter ) We were told the machine to create the foam was broken, but still charged full price for the drink when citrus was a main part of the drink. It would've been nice to know ahead of time before ordering the drink. Overall, it was a great experience.

Hayden at Social Oak was so helpful and friendly. He accommodated all my weird drink requests too! The food was amazing and the patio was so nice. Can't wait to come back!

    Burger and Boursin salad

I was really impressed with my visit to Social Oak. The space is smaller than it looks in photos, but it's super well designed and still feels comfortable. We shared the fried deviled eggs, a burger, and a salad, and honestly I'd recommend all of them and would order them again. There weren't any vodka drinks on the cocktail menu, but our server suggested a great alternative that ended up being really good. Only thing to note is it's not really a place to hang out for a long time. We were in and out in about 45 minutes, which was totally fine for us, just depends on what kind of vibe you're going for.

Social Oak is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable--stylish without feeling stuffy, warm without being loud. It's the kind of place you can enjoy a relaxed dinner or celebrate something special and feel equally at home. The food is outstanding--thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Every dish feels intentional, fresh, and elevated without being overcomplicated. You can tell the kitchen takes real pride in what they're serving. What truly sets Social Oak apart, though, is the service. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly without hovering. The staff makes you feel welcomed and taken care of, which elevates the entire experience. Great food, excellent service, and a top-tier atmosphere--Social Oak is easily one of the best dining experiences in Eagle. We'll absolutely be back.

Wasn't a big fan of the drinks but I loved the decor. The tables were so close to each other it felt like I was in both our neighbors conversation so kind of awkward. It was a nice night out for a quick drink

    The chicken sandwich is amazing

Awesome atmosphere, food, drinks. The service was spectacular, especially Nicole who was super attentive. Highly recommend Social Oak!!!

The thing that jumped out at me was the photo of the burger, now call me crazy but I think at this point I can look at a menu, photos of food and then the reviews to guide me. Yelp hasn't failed me yet! The first thing was walking in the door there were two hostess who smiled and greeted me. We were seated at the bar since there were just two of us. I ordered the Crave burger with bacon and my guest ordered the house salad with tortilla soup. Everything was excellent! The burger was juicy, flavorful, the bacon was perfectly crispy, Smokey and the white cheddar cheese was the perfect compliment! Now let's talk about the bun, I typically don't eat burger buns but this one was the exception to the rule. It was homemade obviously, buttery, light, and toasted to perfection. I ate both of them! Hahahaha! I felt so dirty typing that the French fries were crispy, just the right amount of salty and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. My guest agrees with everything in this review. The house salad was fresh, the vinaigrette was homemade and delicious and the tortilla soup was even great! The ambience was a place you could have a business meeting or take your significant other on a date night. There is literally something for everyone on their crave-able menu ( see what I did there?) Our server who was the bartender kept our glasses full and made sure he checked on us often. I found my new burger spot in Eagle, Idaho?!?! Five stars.

I had never been to this bar but my friend had done some work events here. She got a glass of her usual Pinot Grigio as wine is all she drinks. We had a nice time chatting and she then wanted a second glass of wine. I too, had a second cocktail. The bartender brought Chardonnay to her and then realized it was not the wine she originally had. She asked my friend if she wanted to drink it or if she would like the Pinot Grigio. My friend kindly said, "I prefer the Pinot". Although the bartender didn't appear upset, she abruptly threw the wine into the sink, possibly irritated. She then went out of sight to the kitchen where she was pouring Costco boxed wine. I thought this was odd that they would have Costco boxed wine and that it was stored and poured in the kitchen, being that this was a bar. I have lived in many states and this is something that I have never seen done, but all states have different rules about liquor and wine. Shortly into the second glass of wine, my friend's behavior began changing. She was about 1/3 into the glass, and she suddenly seemed to become heavily sedated, as if she had been drugged. Her speech was very slurred and it seemed her motor skills were very impaired. I had never seen her like this. She can easily handle a bottle of wine, as can I, without incident. We didn't engage much with anyone except a man who came in to get his missing phone. He was mostly talking to the bartender but we briefly chatted with him. People came in and out of the bar with costumes and spoke to the bartender and ordered drinks, to the left of my friend's seat. Nothing appeared to be out of order except my friend appeared very impaired. She went downhill quickly only partially through that second glass of wine. My friend was very incoherent at this point and she became paranoid which is totally out of character for her. She thought the bartender and man next to her were laughing at her. She actually started crying saying, "They're laughing at me. They're laughing at me". I assured her they were not. I then encouraged me friend to get up and we would go use the bathroom. She had apparently lost all control of her legs because when she got up from the seat she instantly collapsed to the floor like a rag doll. It was shocking. I had to help her up from the floor and into the restroom. To my utter shock she did not even recognize me saying, "Who are you? Where's bunny? You're not bunny!". It was bizarre. I was very concerned since I have never seen her like this and we are both seasoned and regular nightly wine drinkers for many years. Many concerned patrons came up to me to try to help. When we finally came out of the bathroom I said to the bartender, "I have never seen my friend like this. I think she may have been drugged. This doesn't make sense." The bartender seemed quite dismissive and replied, "Oh no, I just gave her a heavy pour." Yes, the wine glass did appear more full than a standard pour but my friend again is a veteran drinker and I have seen her drink two or even three glasses of wine and be completely fine. I thought it was interesting that the bartender would say such a thing and so quickly dismiss my suspicion. I also found it odd that she had thrown the wine abruptly into the sink. I also find it suspect that the wine is not being held behind the bar where customers can watch it being poured. Instead it is poured in another room out of sight. While I have no proof and did not witness any foul play I am sure that somebody slipped something into my friend's drink. She was not drunk. She appeared to be drugged. Was it a patron? The man who came back for his phone? Or another partygoer in a costume? That may be possible I suppose but her wine glass was within my view the entire time and I saw nothing suspect. Either way, I believe she was drugged. Again, I have NEVER seen my friend like this. She has NO memory of that night. All of that from a glass and a half of wine? I don't think so. Either way, I cannot recommend this establishment and I will never return based on this experience. It was a very dark experience and I regret ever going out that night. This situation has created huge tension between her husband and I since I am the one who returned her home in this condition. And this tension seems to have caused a rift in our relationship as well. I have reached out to her multiple times and no response. This event not only traumatized her but it traumatized her husband, myself, and my husband as well. It appears to have caused a rift in all of our relationships. It is hard to believe that someone would do such a horrible thing. Apparently I have run out of characters but I am not quite done. I have uploaded and image which is a screen shot of the rest of the story of the incident.

I always judge a bar by how they make the traditional drinks like Old Fashioned, mojitos, and Long Island ice tea to name a few. It was bad. Not sure how they got it bad. Too much bitters? Cheap alcohol? I don't know. The "highlight" of my night was an interaction with the bartender lady. After all the eating, my friends and I stuck around outside to chat. I decided to go back in to grab a beer. The Yakima Blend IPA caught my attention so I asked for that. I pay $13 for it. Bartender gives me my cash change. I leave a $5 bill as tip (on a $13 beer!). They have the virtual juke box and decided to spend the money to play music that we enjoyed. We bought 30 total credit which is equivalent to about 15 songs. About 5 five songs in one of the bartenders came up to us and asked that if we were playing music. We told her yes we bought the credits and put songs on there she told us that if we kept playing "heavy metal" she would skip our songs and that we should be more mindful of the people around us because they had their summer kick off (started at 6). She didn't skip any of the songs and was actually singing the songs we were playing. The second time she came and talked to us she told us that she was skipping all of our songs. I tried speaking to her respectful stating that it was a first come first service basis and if a customer wanted to play a song they could add it to the list and/or pay the additional charge to move it to the top of the list. She then replies, "sure if you want to be dick about it." Word of advice if you're having an event and want certain music to be played don't give the consumer the ability to pick the songs. I will not be returning and don't recommend anyone visiting this establishment.

It's a nice sports bar theme, but also welcoming and cozy. Once we sat down, a server came over immediately with menus. It seemed like she was the only server though, which made me feel badly for her...she never stopped moving the entire time we were there with taking orders, serving, refilling drinks, taking payments, etc. We had a party of four - I ordered the "Hail Mary" (2 patties, onion rings, bbq sauce, bacon, American cheese and pickles), hubby had the double steak burger and my friends ordered "The Big Hurt" and "Bullet Work". Bonus points for having multiple fries options (regular, garlic, French fry dippers and sweet potato), but unfortunately for me, they were out of sweet potato. Food came out relatively quickly and everything looked pretty delicious. My burger was bigger than I expected, which I appreciated. The onion ring was the perfect size for the patty and the drizzle of BBQ sauce was enough to flavor the burger without drowning it. The only downside was that the bacon wasn't crispy enough and the cheese was barely melted. The patties had some nice, crispy edges and the bun was soft even though it was toasted. It might have been bumped up a notch with some mayo on the bun, an extra slice of cheese and lettuce, but overall, it was a nice, very filling, burger. The fries were perfectly seasoned, slightly battered and the fry sauce was a great compliment. Everyone finished their meals and raved about how much they liked their burgers. Due to the one server taking care of so many tables, we didn't see her again until it was time for the check.
