Stopped in quickly between thrift shopping and was happily greeted by welcoming hosts. Ordering was easy, they were very hospitable, catering to all our needs, even the ones we didnt know we needed. All my fave's and I didn't even hit the cream cheese yet.....olive-pimento, garlic herb, vanilla....soft, creamy and spreadable. Highly recommend olive/pimento or jalepeno cream cheese. Jalepeno and the fruity bagels were very flavorful. Plaza located, pleasing interior. We live up in Watertown and there is NO place like this. I grew up in Hawaii where there are a lot of hole in the wall restaurants. Dunkins just doesn't do it for me. When we came down for a mini vacay I was excited to find Soho Bagel on yelp. I honestly went to sleep dreaming about the bagel I would have in the morning...let's just blame it on pregnancy cravings ;) We got into the shop around 10am and it wasn't as busy as I had pictured it would be. There were two people working and although they were not the friendliest it was clear that it was because they were working hard to service us. I believe they both were also responsible for the drive thru - now that's talent! We ordered a breakfast bagel with egg, cheese and bacon on a toasted everything bagel. It was crispy bacon and they did not skimp on it at all! My husband had the Philly cheesesteak bagel and it must have been good because I'm pretty sure he inhaled it. Lol The same girl that made out bagels made our drinks. I had the BEST iced latte ever from here and I used to be a barista so I have had a lot of lattes ;) my husband also approved of his chai latte. Their tip jar is near the register and not very visible so be sure you search for it! This place serves delicious food that can't even compare to all the fast food we are exposed to nowadays, they deserve some extra love for that! read more

My husband and I love their bagels and try to go every weekend. This past weekend their speaker was down malfunctioning and when we got up to the window the cashier was rude and telling my husband repeatedly that he was too quite, when we were yelling into the microphone. She continued to argue saying the staff couldn't hear him and it was his fault. When we got our order, both the food and drinks were wrong. Spacious with couches, tables, and counters, Soho's fine for working on a laptop and great for chatting with company. The staff was quick to help me and very engaging, telling quick stories and teasing each other with whit as they prepared my sandwich and latte. On a Tuesday morning, there is a steady stream of customers, but it's staying quiet enough to work. Everything looks new and clean, which is a bit unhomely, but quality-assuring. To eat, I stayed with a classic breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. It was simple, quality, and actually bite-able, albeit a little unfilling for the price. My drink was a mocha latte, which the barista prepared with apparent years of experience and made just as tastey to the eyes as the tongue. Overall, the staff is what makes Soho such a welcoming experience, but the food and setting don't hurt at all. read more

I visited after seeing Soho Bagel's "$10 Tuesday" promotion on social media. I brought home seven bagels and two spreads and every combination I've tried has been outstanding. The bagels are light and tasty, better than what I've been able to find anywhere else on the west side of town. The "everything" bagels are a tasty delight even without a topping, but I added their homemade vegetable spread and enjoyed it immensely. I also loved the asiago bagel and honey walnut spread. The daily menu also includes a variety of paninis that looks interesting. The atmosphere is nice -- enough tables so you don't feel crowded but warmer and more comfortable with cafeteria-style places. The staff was nice, too, and made the recommendation that I try the asiago bagel. I'm glad I did. read more

Never had to deal with this as a deaf person. Love their coffee and food which I support local business. They just lost my business losing patience with me because I can't so I wrote my orders and their attitude right front of my face was shocking to me. It made me feel less and first encounter I ever experience being discriminated and uncomfortable ordering after all. Guy who ordered in front apologized and said it was uncalled for them to treat their customers like that. You might have busy morning but damn give people some respect especially when they want to support your business. Deaf people or disable people- don't go there because they won't help you and work with you. Sad to say- am very disappointed. read more

Sorry in advance, this is long but truthful. Great bagel selection, muffins and definitely great bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches. In the last year or so I have a different opinion of this restaurant. The food is still good I have no problems with that at all. That is the only reason I go back at least once a week. EVERY Friday morning there is a worker that is taking care of the drive through. At first I would have to wait about 2 or 3 mins for her to get my order because she is also cooking too. But for the last 6 months I have to wait longer and longer just to order. Today, I waited 9 minutes to order. Number 1 the woman sounded like I was being a hassle for coming to the drive through in the first place. Number 2, I waited at the pick up window to pay and she yelled the total at me from the grill. Finally, when she gave me the food, I handed her my debit card and she said (out loud) "I hate taking credit cards". So, not only did I wait 15+ mins to get a breakfast sandwich when there was no one in front of me, but I was treated as if I was bothering her for even being there. I get it, your busy and most likely the only person there, but that is the absolute worst thing you can do as a customer service worker is to be that rude right to a customers face. Literally so rude! This is not the first time this has happened either. it has happened 3 other times as well. If you are going to take the chance and go there, you will get good food but be aware that you may not get good customer service at all. read more

It smells wonderful as you walk in. They make bagel sandwiches with fresh ingredients in front of you when you order. There is a lot of space to sit, at a bar facing the windows, wrap around seating around tables, stand alone tables, and a comfy area of couches and chairs. The staff is very friendly and passionate about their work. They brew Finger Lake Roasters and some Green Mountain coffee. All their coffee is fair trade and some organic. Free WiFi too. I will certainly frequent for their coffee and space to study. read more

Everything I've had here has been great, which has mostly been bagels and tea. This is the Bagel Bin of the west side of Rochester. There is a very pleasant hum of meetings and people working. If you stay, make sure you buy something every hour. read more

Love this place. From the staff to the food, i always have a great experience here. The owner/manager is fantastic and very personable.

I've been to Soho's several times now because it is a convenient place to meet my best friend for lunch. The bagels are good and the atmosphere is nice, but the customer service is terrible. Every time I've been there they seem frazzled and stressed, even when there are no other customers there. They never smile and seem irritated to take your order. This last time my drink was made wrong and when I went back to ask them to fix it one of the ladies ignored me and even walked right by me without acknowledging I was there. She then gave me the silent treatment when I asked her to make me another drink. I'm not usually picky and hardly ever ask my food to be fixed even when it's made wrong. But even I can't stomach a sickly sweet chai. Customer service is important. Next time we're trying a different place in the area. read more

I dont usually complain about things but today I received the worst service in your cafe. The girl that waited on me (with pink hair) was extremely rude. She clearly hates her job and does not care about customer service. She loudly sighed every time I order an additional item and I only ordered four things. I requested double egg on my sandwich and she didn't care and still gave me single egg. I had to verify at check out that she didn't charge me extra. I'm not sure if she is a family member of the owner or not but she may need a talking to. If I saw my customers treated this way this girl would be in the unemployment line. Your bagels are good but the service definelty left a bad taste in my mouth. The guy behind me tried to order soup and another employee informed him that they forgot to make soup! I definelty wasn't the only customer disappointed today. I won't be returning. read more

Checked out this place today at lunch. Place totally empty. Very tired looking and dingy cushions and pillows in window seating area, couches cracked and old. Ordered the Pesto Chicken sandwich, which came with a salad for $7.49 (according to menu on wall). The "salad" was either a bag of chips or a pickle or potato salad or macaroni salad - no lettuce salad offered. At check-out I was charged $7.99 for the $7.49 sandwich (which on the online menu is listed for $6.99). I brought this to their attention, and rather than change the bill, they said the posted menu was incorrect. (Isn't it illegal to charge more than the posted menu??). When I bit into my sandwich, I was like, "where's the pesto?" -- the girl explained it was on a pesto faccacio roll -- which is not what either the posted or online menu say. The "grilled" chicken was slimy and apparently steamed -- it tasted like processed meat, not like nice grilled chicken. The tomato was pink, bordering on white, and the lettuce on the sandwich was old and wilted. I did like the cream cheese and the roll was nice. The potato salad has a couple microscopic chips of pickle, no veggies, and a mayo sauce mixed with poppy seeds and sugar! Who puts sugar in potato salad?? Maybe they put the cole slaw dressing on the potato salad? The meal certainly wasn't worth the $8.63 with tax I was overcharged (or even the $7.49 that was on the menu). The bagels did look good, might have been better off just getting a bagel with the specialty cream cheese. But probably won't be back. read more

Possibly the worst breakfast and sandwich place I have ever tried. It looks like a "café-in-box" kit from some kind of franchise service. Both times I went (enticed by online coupons and the homestyle name) they only had a couple flavors of bagels. There weren't many selections, and the ones we tried were barely mediocre. I guess this is a step up from McDonald's, but a far cry from any of Rochester's original places, and worse even than Bruegger's. read more

I've loved Soho from the day they opened. But, today's experience has me questioning whether I will ever go back. First of all at 11:30 on a Sunday morning they had just about no bagels left, not even a plain one. You would think on a Sunday they would continue making bagels to meet the demand. Especially today, when people are out early Christmas shopping. But, the reason for my review is the girl that waited on me. She was unbelievably rude, condescending & acted like I was a total annoyance to her. I couldn't quite see all of the bins so o wasn't sure what was left & when I asked for a plain bagel she rudely said "all we have is what's here" & pointed towards the bins. The guy that made my hot choc was really very nice, as he always is. The same girl rang me up & never bothered to even say so much as thank you. I'm not hard to please, but I'm a firm believer that good Cust service goes a long way. As I'm sitting here writing this, another person, that was waited on by the same girl, walked out saying "I'll never come in here again. Now I know why they're dead". And then I heard the girl that waited on her make several rude comments about the woman after she walked out. Nice to know I'm not the only one she was rude to. The owner may want to address her attitude with her or maybe, for business sake, think about replacing her. We are the Cust, we're not doing them a favor. We're keeping their business open. I'm giving them a 3 because no matter how rude their help is, they have the best bagels in Rochester. read more
