I really like this place! I've tried a lot of nail places around Allen/McKinney/Frisco. This is my go to. Competitive and reasonable pricing. I love that they have a consistent receptionist who always answers the phone and greets you when you enter. The techs are always nice and polite. However, my favorite thing about this place is their 7 day guarantee policy. I messed up one of my nails one time, and had to come back in to get it fixed. I came here as opposed to my usual place because they were one of the few salons open New Year's Day. My old salon failed to update their hours and somehow I was able to book myself an appointment online. To my disappointment, I showed up and they were closed. However, I'm pretty happy I ended up coming here and may come here now instead of my old salon. Super clean and I even saw workers wiping down seats and making sure the salon was clean. I appreciate the sanitizing stations located all over the salon. I got a new set of dip and the number of colors they had was amazing. Most salons only have a select few to choose through for dip. My old salon only had 2 small books to look through. This salon has every color and shade you can think of. My nail tech did such an amazing job on my nails and took them time to clean up my nail beds and under the tips. Many techs forget this step, and I'm left with my cuticles looking awful and residue of dip or file shavings under my nails. Today (the manager?) tried to charge me $1 per bottle of polish per nail painted, which would have been 5 additional dollars! I don't know why he had a bad attitude today and tried this because I've been coming here for years to get my mani pedi and never heard of such policy. I have gotten excellent service each time I have visited Soho Nail Bar. It has always been a stellar experience. I definitely consider this to be "my" nail salon in Allen. The gentleman at the front is very cordial, and I can tell he genuinely cares about whether or not I am pleased with my nails before I leave the salon. I also appreciate how clean and well decorated their space is. The nail techs are great across the board. The last time I visited I wanted a specific dalmatian print on my nails. The nail tech named her price at $60 for the design which I understood as it was pretty detailed. My friend wanted a leopard design which was, in my opinion, equally elaborate (and also took longer), but was quoted at $50. The man at the front desk is always pleasant and helps out in anyway he can from helping me find a color to asking if the water is a good temperature. I've recently stepped out of my box and started looking at different nail designs and whatnot and today I was overly excited about how my nails turned out and decided to write a review because I have never been disappointed in the service. Terrible experience. Waited for 40 minutes with my feet soaking in 2 inches of cold water waiting for a pedicure. Never got water filled or heated. Wasted 40 minutes and never got service done. I went to this place a few weeks ago and they put shellac on my feet, and i thought nothing of it because i have been getting shellac for years. They put the shellac on my feet and it was very pretty, but when i tried to remove it the shellac was very cake-like and built up a lot. I wanted to get it removed without damaging my nails with the drill but i had to go back and get it drilled off with the drill which i didn't want to do. read more

So as soon as I posted the review, the owner messaged me and asked if I could come in to get my nails fixed, I actually just wanted a partial refund so I could get it fixed somewhere else. But they said they couldn't do a partial refund since the service was provided, and said they will make it perfect if I chose to come in. I did go in, and I felt bad because I gave a bad review so I felt like people were watching me lol. Danny was my technician, and he was nothing short of amazzzing. I'm usually not to picky but I got excited and got a nail length and color that really wasn't me, that was Friday.I stressed about it all weekend because I was going out of town the next week and needed to be able to function. That Monday I went back and walked in showed them that the chrome I had wasn't working well and offered to replace pay knowing that it was partly my fault and partly the products fault. They re did my entire set and I also got a polish change.When I went to pay I asked how much and the gentlemen said they weren't going to charge me for the set of nails because I just had them done the pervious Friday. This is the WORST SERVICE I have ever gotten at a nail salon. I waited an over hour to get my nails done even though I had a reservation and my nails looked terrible. My four friends and I booked an appointment for 10:00am, right when they opened. My first friend got her nails done about 15 minutes later while the rest of us sat there and continued waiting. After waiting another 30 minutes, we started to talk to the receptionist as the four of us STILL hadn't gotten ours done. Keep in mind, there was only about 2 other customers there besides our group. When they finally get to me at almost 11:15, the first guy starts filing my nails and puts a liquid on them to start a dip powder manicure even though I had told them I wanted a gel french manicure, but thankfully I stopped him early. Then, after waiting again, a second lady comes and starts filing my nails (again) and clipping my cuticles. After she leaves, I wait.. again. Then finally a third lady comes and clips my cuticles again. She starts painting and as she's doing the white tip, she messes up several times, and I had to ask her repeatedly to fix certain spots or add polish in some places. It seemed like it was her first time doing this. At the end, when she finished curing the top coat, which should be the last step, she FILES my nails. She files the polish at the tip of my nails off..... You don't have to know much about nails to know that you shouldn't be filing a gel manicure at the end........ Then, instead of lotion, she rubs CUTICLE OIL ALL OVER MY ARM.. I had cuticle oil up to my elbows and that was the most disgusting feeling ever. At the end, I asked the front desk what her name was and she said it was Maggie, so please if you ever come here, which you SHOULDN'T, make sure you don't get Maggie. She had short hair dyed blonde with bangs. This is one of the absolute worst nail salon experiences I have ever had. The wait time and nail service itself was unacceptable. The painting is extremely uneven and there are stray marks on my nails. Even with my corrections, she still missed some spots on my nails. I've worked in the service industry so I understand it can be difficult if institutions are understaffed (which this place did not look like it was) or if companies are just having an off-day, but even then, the service here was terrible. Please don't come here or if you do, please make sure you don't get Maggie. read more
