A no-frills kind of pizza place with some pretty good pizza. They have some really interesting combinations and the ingredients taste fresh. Nothing exciting to say about the crust but it works. Pizzas available by the slice are displayed on shelves behind glass. They heat it up in their pizza traditional/commercial pizza ovens and are piping hot within minutes. Employees are efficient but not overly friendly, but hey, it's a pizza joint on Lark St. - expectations aren't high here. A great place for a quick slice or even to take a pie home. read more

We were in town for the Gabriel Iglesias "Fluffy" show and spent one night only. The area is nice, the Hilton hotel is one block away from the palace theater and that area is downtown Albany. Restaurants close by 10pm and the show ended right at 10pm. There were a couple of places that were open past 10pm but only served drinks or were located in very bad neighborhoods. Got late night delivery for snack time. I'm grateful there is such a late night/early morning option for delivery as I am quite the night owl. I really wanted cheese fries, so I got that, a slice of cheesecake, and some wings. This review is based on that sole experience only, so it might be biased! Fries: I asked to get cheese added to it, and I was super happy with the portion and results! It's definitely a lot for what I expected, so bellies were happy in that sense. The cheese given was a good amount, and it was still oozy by the time it got to my door, so mouths chewed happily in that sense. Cheesecake: Okay, so I know this wasn't going to be amazing cheesecake, but this was still quite disappointing. It definitely has freezer burn, and the cheesecake was mostly frozen with ice crystals, the texture of the cake morphed. This I wouldn't have minded so much if the bottom crust of the cake wasn't so sad! It was all fried out and not crumply at all! Usually, that's the highlight of my cake, and I go for that, but I actually just didn't finish the crust. Which is really sad because I love that! Wings: I got the medium hotness wings, and I enjoyed it. It was a good portion, and I really loved the touch of ziplocking a bag of carrots and celery sticks separately to not get things soggy or wet! Smart move, guys. read more

Absolute fire, every time. Look at the menu online for more options, and order ahead for no wait. The Caesar is fire. With a heap of real grilled chicken on top. The pastas are unreal. Had the stuffed shells for the first time and I out loud quoted the legendary Kai- "smash, smash, smash." I had to take a second to remember to breathe between bites. If you're strolling by, grab a slice and a soda. The people are amazing as well. The vibes are onnn and even when the line is long, it moves fast. Ordered pizza and boneless wings after a concert. The man who answered the phone was rude, I understand they were busy but it's no reason to be rude. He stated it would be 45-50 minutes for the food to be delivered to our hotel. I was waiting in the lobby, and after an hour and a half I called to check the status and verify they would call me so I could go back up to my room to wait. He was rude again and told me to just wait without verifying any of my info. The food finally did arrive, the pizza is terrible, the crust was uneatable the wings were even worse. Came here twice for my basic cheese slice ($2.50) , both times I came at night and the weekend . The first time it was fairly good I had no complaints with the amount of sauce to cheese , and left with a good taste in my mouth. However my second time I wasn't pleased with the cut of my pizza it was uneven , never the less it tasted as if it sat their all day .The sauce to cheese ratio wasn't the best which left the pizza tasting as dry as the crust I hope this review helps. read more

With post-bar drinking munchies on Lark Street, I was looking for something fast and delish. OMG that was Soho Pizza. I'll just talk about the slices I got. The pizzas on display were gigantic, so so were the slices. A lot of variety but my eyes (and stomach) were drawn to the square deep dish slices of Margherita pizza. It looked amazing. After an oven heat-up, the taste was amazing too. Ate at a convenient outdoor table. Perfectly crispy crust and generously cheesed (fresh sliced mozz, not shredded), ample basil, and periodic eruptions of tomato sauce. Perfect balance of flavors, each ingredient was delish both separately and combined. Best Margherita ever! And great low prices for slices. Can't wait to return for other varieties. I have eaten here many times over the years and it reminds me of a typical pizzeria. There are usually lots of slices to choose from- some of which are fresh and some have likely been there a while- and they also have the typical garlic knots, wings, subs, etc. The ubiquitous soda/bottled water cooler is on the side. Based only on eating slices, it is good pizza but not great. The variety is huge, but sometimes I find myself thinking after that the pizza was too dry, or too salty, etc. Another problem is that there isn't much space to eat inside but since we don't live locally that is really our only option. So, during the summer it is very hot inside and during the winter it is cold when the door is opened and closed. If you are in the area and need some cheap pizza, and want many options, this place is fine. I bet if I ordered a fresh pizza my impressions would be different, but since I have never done that my rating is based on my above experiences. read more

I love this place! They have so many options it's crazy, and you can get 20+ options by the slice, like teriyaki chicken. You can also order a pizza with vegan cheese and/or gluten-free dough for those with dietary restrictions. They make their own dough and you can tell they're ingredients are fresh. The best part is they don't have pork, they use turkey or beef. I don't ever notice the difference but my friends who can't eat pork can finally enjoy pepperoni and sausage pizza with me and are really thankful I introduced this place. It's not just pizza, it's sandwiches and wings and calzones and Italian dinners and all the appetizers you could think. Staff is super friendly and you see the owner here a lot, which is nice, he's friendly and you can tell he cares about the place. Long story short, I never go anywhere else! read more

The pizza here was absolutely delicious! They have wider slices here so I was in a food coma after two slices. They aren't very greasy here which I was happy about. I am retracking my previous rating. i ordered delivery and as i was eating my cheese sticks with marinara sauce i nocited something hard fall on the floor... IT WAS A GLASS BEAD!!!!!! I called Soho and after telling them what happened, I was taunted to call the health department... i did... they called me back and asked me "what I wanted them to do about it?" after asking for an apology, they told me they did not even make their own sauce... they ordered it (come on! thats the easiest thing to do) they tried to send a driver to get the bead. I live in Brooklyn and this blows most of my neighborhood spots (Williamsburg, no less) out of the water. I think during the 2 weeks I spent upstate recently I had Soho 5 or 6 times. Ok it's not often you get something fresh out the oven, but it doesn't even matter. The flavor is there, quality counts. Ask for a side of marinara and it's likely on the house. The pizza stays together very well, not messy, they have a good assortment of specialty slices, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I don't know what happened to this place.. they used to be one of my favorite pizza spots in Albany. They have a huge variety of slices in their shop, but even those have gone downhill. The taste is just not there anymore. I've ordered delivery from here a few times and what has shown up is barely edible. Their cheese pizza is honestly gross and it always shows up luke warm. It's so dry there's hardly any sauce and the crust is dusty and flavorless. I think the box it came in would taste better/comparable. I've ordered mozzarella sticks that have shown up soggy and cold. I don't know how I should rate this place considering the circumstance behind my visit there. reliving a sequel to the Hangover movie of sorts and stranded in Albany, my friends and I stopped by this place for a quick bite late night in-between an in-prompt bar crawl. This place like any other pizza place offers a host of variety and one thing in its favor on a thurs nite, its open late. From buffalo chicken to plain and to some having pepperoni slices, the pizza was fresh and not chewy considering it was not made to order.
