I stopped by Soho Pizza late last . I had chicken bacon ranch slice, it was delicious. My friend had a veggie slice, it also looked great. I liked the crispy crust. Blah. The pizza is very ho hum. The sauce is too sweet. . . I could not taste any basil in it. The crust lacks any depth . . .in flavor that is. It I had two different pizzas there . .both were lackluster. And the pizza I had delivered - a steak pizza - had very little toppings on it. I just went hoping it'd be better than the little sister pizzeria, NoHo, also on Lark. Twelve or more slice pies to choose from, but seemingly no winners. I picked a Ziti slice. Awful choice. Ordered from here and delivered to my hotel Room. Just wanted a sub but 15 minimum for delivery so I got the mozzarella sticks also which came to just over 17. Ordered sub w/o onions and extra mayo. Order came pretty quick. Tipped the driver 5. Sub was made no onions but absolutely no mayo and made it dry and not too tasty. Best pizza around. Soho Pizza is probably the only pizzeria that does not use screen in their oven. Pizzas are baked straight on oven' s stone which makes pizzas taste exceptionally good. Im personally big fan of pizzas with crispy bottoms. Soho's has been established neighborhood pizzeria for around 20 years. The owner used be around all the time who cares a lot about customers. I believe he has a baby now which makes him spend less time in the shop but I still see him making pizzas himself once in a while. Soho is now serving gluten free pizzas and vegan cheese as well. Soho Pizza is a pretty average pizza place located along the heart of Albany's Lark Streeet neighborhood. Kinda small and cramped if you're planning on dining inside, but service is fast. They do have a decent selection of specialty slices (such as BBQ chicken) if that's your bag. I've been here a few times now, usually to grab a slice of pizza if I'm spending time in the area and otherwise haven't had a chance to eat. Their pizza tastes good, but not over the top in delicious. At least it's in the New York style that I've come to expect over the years. read more

Of course, it was 10 PM on a sunday night, and since everything closes early in Downtown Albany, we didn't exactly have a beacon of choices. Soho pizza is on the same level as Paesan's, I Love NY, and Dino's: lots of topping and specialty options, but mediocre at best. The service is friendly, the location is ideal, it isn't gross inside - but the most important factor - taste - is lacking. The crust is acceptable - it maintains crispiness well. The sauce is blah and I find the pizza to be dry most of the time. It tastes decent right out of the oven, but after a few minutes the pizza becomes a warm, dry, and bland mess. If you are in need of pizza and Soho Pizzeria is your only option, then go for it. If you are looking for a great slice or pie to satisfy an intense pizza desire look elsewhere. read more

I was bored by the Greek salad, which was lettuce with feta and a package of Greek dressing, decent but they didn't even try on this one. I heart Soho's. The overnight crew at SPH orders faithfully and these folks are consistent. The food is pretty basic as far as variety but the quality of the food at 1am is worth raving about. As good as you can get outside of NYC. The prices are good. The Food is great. They are open until you can't see straight. Pizza by the slice all day and night. They deliver. They are friendly. They have a pizza wing combo for $20 and its worth twice that. My wife and I would get it and split the wings between two different flavors, and have half one night and half the next. an 8 cut pizza and 20 wings! I get full off of 2 slices and 10 wings. Perfect. They also have calzones. These are massive. Many fillings and the crust if perfect! Half of the calzone fills me up. I save the rest for another meal. Aside from being a bit greasy on the crust, possibly butter from the baking process, it is perfect. Match it up with some bonelss wings and a soda and you're in nirvana. The only thing keeping it from a perfect review, is that i moved away from them and i can't have it anymore. Also they get really busy on some nights where it takes forever to answer their phones or place the order. I would walk there and there is no place to sit and wait for the food when its crowded. The staff are always nice and polite. sometimes they talk to me and make me feel like they care, not just another pick up order but a regular. I highly recommend. read more
