I've been to Soko Bag twice and both experiences were fantastic. The food, service and ambiance were all wonderful and the owners are so sweet and make a point to make you feel welcomed. We've ordered the fried chicken (bamboo salt and ghost pepper cheddar), fries, tried most sauces, Cole slaw and ice cream. All has been extremely tasty and very reasonably priced. My only note/suggestion is that I wish there were something on the menu that was cold/crunchy or just some other vegetable side (like kimchi, daikon, or anything else), but it won't prevent me from coming back. read more

Drove down from Reading to Phoenixville for are third time to SOKOBAG this is the best Korean fried chicken in the area. The owner and staff are friendly and very helpful when you order. I highly recommend trying this place out. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Saw this place while they were still setting up to open a few months back. Finally, I learned they were open and ordered 1.5lb of chicken. I was very pleased with the meal. I got 1lb of the Snow Chicken and loved it. The white cheddar added a whole new layer of umami flavor just by itself. Of course, it tasted even better with the Gochujang Sauce and Kimchi Aioli. We also tried half a pound of the Bamboo Salt, and I loved how crunchy and crisp it came out. This also went well with the two sauces mentioned above. In my 2 minute interaction with the staff to get my takeout, they came off pleasant and eager to please their customers. Could not recommend more. read more

Fried chicken and beer? Yes please! Phoenixville is one of the few places you can find country-specific cuisine and having an amazing Korean chicken place is awesome. The menu is limited for now while but what they do is fantastic: hot, crispy, and authentic. The gochujang sauce should be bottled, I'd buy it by the gallon. The service was super fast, even with a handful of takeout orders coming in and out the door. Tried this pretty new Korean fried chicken place. Not real impressed unfortunately. Order at counter and pay in full including tip, they do bring your food to you but you are expected to bus your own table. Chicken was not well trimmed pieces of boneless thighs, pockets of fat on some. Dipping sauces were fantastic however. Not as crispy as other Korean Chicken places I've tried and my stomache feels like I've eaten to much oil. $50 with tip for a shared platter and 2 beers was definitely pricy. read more

The food, service, vibe, and atmosphere was very amazing here. You can reserve a table or just walk in to order, and find a spot by the window. Everyone dining in seemed happy, and the decor was very cute but also fun to see. It was Philly sports inspired, and has signed jerseys of different teams/athletes to just sit amongst to have a SOKO beer. They even gave us some cake to take along with us, because my family was just sharing a slice. I will definitely be recommending this spot to others and trying to visit again soon. We have a 2 year old that loves food, and when she had her first bite of the chicken, her eyes lit up and she demanded another bite before we could try it. Got the 1/2 pound of 'chicken' - was expecting crispy chicken parts with some great glaze/batter flavor. Well, what I got is a product that the owners should be ashamed of peddling, unless they're in it to rip off customers. In the container there were heavily breaded/battered chicken strips. Chicken meat was grayish in color - definitely not appetizing. The heavy breading/batter, and believe me, it felt like eating more batter than chicken, was mostly salty, with no particular flavor. I did get it with 'bamboo salt', which is on of their chicken 'toppings'. Last I checked, salt has not reached a level that would qualify it as a topping. The accompanying 'kimchi' dipping sauce was in a small plastic rameken, and tasted like a mayo/ketchup/mustard combination, really disappointing. I guess in terms of disappointment level, the chicken strips and the dipping sauce were equally on par. Since their other item is the 1 pound of 'chicken' (they only have those 2 items, which differ only in serving size), I briefly toyed with the idea of picking up 4 Costco rotisserie chickens, for the same $20 that they sell the 1 pound 'chicken' for, coming back and smacking the owner on the head with the 4 chickens, maybe to snap him out of his delusions that he's really selling Korean chicken, but it was only a brief fantasy. Also, they have a large selection of beer and alcohol, heavily over-priced, to boot. That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it - same as their batter sticking to the chicken strips... read more
