    Flagship location in Venice

I cannot say enough great things about Solé from their quality of bikes, to their customer service first class from Top to bottom!!! I just got a Dutch step over and Not only is it sleek and beautiful it rides like a dream! Andrew and the team at Soleil are just excellent don't believe me go down and rent one for yourself, or order one online anywhere they're just that good.

Disappointed... I purchased a 3-speed from the Venice flagship store 2 days ago and was super excited to take my new bike to work. On the first day of riding, a lug nut on the real wheel fell off while I was riding in rush hour traffic!! There was a loud clanging, I suddenly lost control and almost fell over. I subsequently called their customer support number and was greeted by an answering machine. Left a message with my concerns, but never heard back. I really wanted to like this bike, but the post purchase experience has been lacking to say the least. I'll try calling again another day, but so far, I would not recommend buying a bike from here.

Our new whips from the sample sale!

We picked up a couple new whips from Sole at one of their sample sales and are beyond happy with our rides! Every now and then, Sole does a sample sale for gear that was used for photoshoots and whatnot, giving you discounts on what they have - clothes, bikes, and whatever they have going on inside. Just a note, when they do these sample sales, they sell out quick! We were lucky enough to get two bikes that we really love at the sample sale. The guys at Sole' were really cool about switching wheel colors and swapping the bikes from fixie to flywheel for us. While we took a lot of their time, the guys were really laid back and cool about making sure that we could get the best bike combo possible with what was available at the sale. I really appreciated that! The bikes ride great on the beach bike path - smooth with much better speed than your average beach cruiser. They're also really light! Despite how they look, the seats are decently comfortable and my bony butt was able to ride for an hour the other day without a problem. Our bikes do put you in a more bent over, bike messenger type position, which is significantly different than riding a beach cruiser. For me, it's totally comfortable, but it can take some getting used to if you've never had a hipster or road bike. We really love our bikes and will take them from Venice to Torrance on the bike path soon. Since we're local, I'm happy that I can bring my bike down to Sole' anytime if I have any issues with it and know that the crew there will be happy to help out.

Andrew was the most helpful! I had ordered my bike online and put it together myself but let's be honest... I'm not a bike mechanic I couldn't adjust the front break quite right (couldn't get it tight enough) and the back one was still a little too tight. He tweaked a few other things for me, fixed my front tire and it rides so smoothly now. I couldn't believe it. I love my Solé even more.

Warped fender that was never replaced and the tire they sent even though I opened a case for a broken wheel

Multiple gears didn't work correctly, the brakes barely functioned, and one bike had flat tires that I had to inflate myself before we could even ride. The helmets provided were heavily worn, and the lock included with the rental was just a basic cable lock. The employee specifically warned us to lock the bikes carefully since we were going to the Santa Monica Pier. Unfortunately, the cable lock THEY provided was cut, and one of the bikes was stolen. After returning and showing them the cut lock, they charged us $225 for the stolen bike, plus still charged us the rental fee. I understand being responsible for stolen rental equipment, but charging $225 for a bike in the condition this one was in felt excessive and unreasonable. These were not high-end bikes -- they looked heavily used and poorly maintained. What made the situation worse was the attitude afterward. They even told us they were "being nice" by not charging us for the cut lock. Then, after we said we would not return, one employee offered us a gift card to come back, which honestly felt strange after charging us hundreds of dollars. Overall, the bikes were low quality, poorly maintained, and the handling of the situation left a bad impression. I would not recommend renting here.

No quote or price estimate was provided at any point. About an hour later, I received a call saying the issue was fixed. When I asked how much the repair would cost, I was told, "Just bring cash." I asked again for the amount and was not given one. When I arrived to pick up my bike, I was then told the bike was not fixed correctly. Instead, the mechanic replaced my original cartridge with a smaller, lower-grade cartridge because it was what he had available. I was never contacted or asked for consent before my original part was swapped. When I tested the bike, the same problem was still present--the dropper post did not fully extend. I pointed this out, and the mechanic stated he could have installed the correct part, but used the replacement anyway. Despite the issue remaining unresolved, I was asked again if I had brought cash. Additionally, my emergency inner tube was missing when the bike was returned to me. This experience showed a lack of transparency, communication, and basic service standards. Customers should be cautious when dealing with the service department, especially regarding pricing, authorization of parts, and accountability.

I used that bike for 5 years and put 40000 miles on it. Bike Attack helped me above beyond the norm to reach that mileage with their technical excellence. I decided to change e-bike after achieving that mileage with the Stromer, this was 5 years ago. At that time Bike Attack didn't have anything that met my requirements for a new e-bike. I purchased an Bosch mid drive 28mph commuter e-bike. Yet when I needed technical help I went back to Bike Attack. They are the only guys I know that are friendly and have the technical knowledge to keep my e-bike. During these past 5 years Bike Attack have kept my e-bike running. I replaced, tires, chains, wheels, chain-ring, rear cassettes, brakes, lights. Everything that needed to be replaced was because of wear and tear. I now have more than 56000 miles on my second e-bike. Bike Attack is the only one I trust to keep me safe on the road.

They did provide the fenders though. Despite following his directions to email Bike Attack company regarding the suspension seat I've received no reply. Per specs on website and paper manual I should have had the Integrated StVZO light in the rear. I will be calling Bike Attack tomorrow to see if they can remedy. I will update. Update: I received an immediate response and were really helpful. My parts will be ordered from the manufacturer.

Best bike shop around... and they are dog friendly!…read more This Santa Monica bike shop is located on the corner of Broadway and 25th street with its own parking lot. It had a great selection of quality bicycles at reasonable prices. They stock Trek, Cannondale, Santa Cruz, Colnago, Pinarello and more in all types of bikes (road, hybrid, mtb, etc.). I was looking for a specific Trek Madone in a size small and this is the only local store that had it in stock. I called in advance to confirm its availability and set up a time to view the bike. I spoke with Monty. On the day of my visit, I met with Monty, took the bike for a spin, and took her home, along with a few other items (pedals, computer mount and water bottle cages). It was a smooth and easy transaction. Monty did the basic fitting and the guys in the service area installed all of the other items. The service area was busy with customers picking up and dropping off their bikes. Some even stopped in during their rides for a quick fix. Customer service was outstanding! Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. If I could rate it higher, I would... Pedals (my dog) had a great time hanging out in the store. We will be back!

I was told to go to an Orbea dealer for service and that was Bike Attack in playa vista - they are a joke and have since closed down for good reason. At my local bike shop the main tech got fired after helping me get a replacement motor (not why he was fired) from Shimano. So i was on my own with this as it shut down yet again on a long ride- and didnt come back on. I decided to find another Shimano dealer for service. From the moment i called Helen's i got nothing but polite and enthusiastic help. I took it in and explained everything to Eric, one of the techs who works w Shimano on E bikes like this. He got it back to be in a few days and explained in detail what he did (pull the motor out and check all the wiring and get on diagnostics with Shimano via the web to update software and firmware) and didn't just try to upsell me on something i might not need or gouge me on the price like bike attack. Neither he nor i know if it has been totally solved but i know i have an ally now in dealing with this and he will be honest and escalate the service as necessary. I'll be out on rides again knowing that if it craps out again i know who to work with as we trouble shoot and get to a final fix. Thanks eric and everyone at Helen's Santa Monica!
