Please read before getting your bike serviced here. I brought my bike in because my dropper post was not fully retracting. I was told it could be fixed and to give them a few hours. No quote or price estimate was provided at any point. About an hour later, I received a call saying the issue was fixed. When I asked how much the repair would cost, I was told, "Just bring cash." I asked again for the amount and was not given one. When I arrived to pick up my bike, I was then told the bike was not fixed correctly. Instead, the mechanic replaced my original cartridge with a smaller, lower-grade cartridge because it was what he had available. I was never contacted or asked for consent before my original part was swapped. When I tested the bike, the same problem was still present--the dropper post did not fully extend. I pointed this out, and the mechanic stated he could have installed the correct part, but used the replacement anyway. Despite the issue remaining unresolved, I was asked again if I had brought cash. Additionally, my emergency inner tube was missing when the bike was returned to me. This experience showed a lack of transparency, communication, and basic service standards. Customers should be cautious when dealing with the service department, especially regarding pricing, authorization of parts, and accountability. read more

My wife and I have been going to Wheel World for about 10 years now. Bought both bikes and accessories there. Had tune ups done there. Sometimes they are understaffed, which makes service a bit slow, but they were always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - so when I decided to buy and e-bike, they were of course my first choice. Unfortunately, they did not have the model I wanted so I ordered directly from the manufacturer and had it shipped to Wheel World for assembly and delivery. Very, very different experience so far. I called them twice. Just twice. Over a period of 3 days. I first called to confirm they had received the bike (I received a delivery estimate, but no tracking number from the manufacturer). Instead of a "yes, we have it," I was met with a defensive and condescending diatribe about how they're very busy and it takes time to assemble a bike. I politely clarified that I just wanted to make sure they got it because I had no tracking number, and was told "that's what happens when you order directly from the manufacturer." He then, reluctantly looked it up and told me yes, they had received it, but they are very busy so it probably wouldn't be ready until the next day. I would get a phone call when it was ready. Given my rather long history with Wheel World, I hope that this was abherent behavior and that he was just having a bad day or something. I didn't get a phone call then next day, so I followed up the day after that (2 days after the first phone call) to get an ETA. Spoke to a different person, who started with "As my colleague told you..." then proceeded to give me the same defensive and condescending behavior, but did at least tell me they were charging the battery and downloading software updates, so the bike will be ready "today or tomorrow." So, apparently not abherent behavior - at least when it comes to bikes ordered online and shipped to them for assembly and delivery. My current theory is that they don't like playing this role because the bike wasn't bought from them. They're entitled to their feelings, but it's more than a little unprofessional of them to share them with a customer this way. This is a $6,000 e-bike. If they wanted me to buy it from them, they should have had it in stock. Since they didn't, they needed to exercise a little impulse control and not express their hurt feelings to a retail customer who had called them exactly TWICE in 3 days. The second time ONLY because it wasn't ready on the day they said it would be the first time I called. Now, instead of feeling excited about getting my new bike, I'm nervous about the kind of delivery experience I will have. They get 1 star so far. I'll update this review after I pick up the bike. UPDATE: Delivery experience was mostly excellent. Store was mostly empty (Super Bowl Sunday). Manager helped me and he was friendly and professional. I did share my telephone experience with him and he did listen and did apologize for my experience, but I have a feeling nobody else at Wheel World will ever hear about it. Still, the experience was at least pleasant, so I gave them 2 additional stars for that. read more

They were very busy (obviously because they're awesome at what they do) so when I came in to pick up my bike, they asked if I wouldn't mind waiting a little bit longer for bike that I had left in to get a tune up. Not only did they fix up the bike, they found an issue with my tire, sold me a reasonably priced replacement, installed some mods on my bike for free and gave me some good tips on how to use them. It's difficult to review a shop based on one bad experience. I've bought stuff there and been satisfied, but one time I needed help on an odd part and was not helped. My wife has a road bike with 650C wheels, and when I asked if they had replacement wheels they showed me 700c wheels. Wheel World 8731 Washington Boulevard, Culver City, CA 90232 They have a satisfaction guarantee lifetime on bicycles they sell, and they did not honor it. We bought over $12,000 worth of bikes from them. $4,000 plus for each bike. They ship their front wheels with caps on the end that when they pull off, they pull off a needed spacer that is needed for the fork. This is a known problem (they admitted and I have it in an email for verification), yet there was no warning label of that problem when we pulled the end caps off and put the wheel on the forks. So what this ultimately caused is the forks to not fully seat the hub on the wheel and they would have about a one to two millimeter lateral free play. We simply asked them for those spacers and they tried to charge us for them and those spacers are not cheap. This was their fault for not having any sort of notification of that problem with these giant company MTB e-bikes. Again, all we want is for them to send us those end caps free. Took my bike here because I collided with a car that didn't stop at a driveway entrance to the street and hit me because he was looking at his phone. Thankfully I got away with bruises, soreness and a hurt ankle wrist crotch and back. And seemingly minor damage to my bike and hopefully no hidden hairline carbon fractures. They took about a week to fix it which is amazing considering the holiday craze. I need a tune up, a new derailer, new rear brakes and some other small adjustments. Called this place and was told by the service dept they could help me with my e-bike which needed a hangar/derailer fixed. I brought the hangar and the bike in and was instantly told they couldn't help me fix it on the spot because the hangar was not correct and they tried to refer me to somewhere else. A complete waste of time bringing my bike in to this place. Instead of trying to assist me after I showed them what Huffy the manufacturer sent me they told me it was wrong and wouldn't work. I showed them the original part and explained if it can be ordered and i'll pay for parts and labor, they simply just did not want to deal with it. Be weary talking to these guys on the phone, they will tell you one thing and then once you bring your bike in. During the COVID pandemic, bikes are hard to come by. Virtually every shop is sold out of bikes. While some shops offer a waiting list, Wheel World is on a first-come, first-serve basis. So if you're late to the game when it comes to a bike, you can still get one if you time it right. Maria is awesome! We came by the shop looking for bikes and she told us what every shop had told us...that they were sold out of bikes. But she did inform us of when their shipments come in so we could call and check to see if bikes had come in. A couple weeks later, we have our bikes! Maria has been very helpful throughout the entire process. If you're new to the bike world like myself, she'll find the right bike for you based on your needs/wants. She's very patient and willing to educate you on bikes. Top notch customer service! Not to mention, if you buy a bike from Wheel World, they offer free lifetime adjustments and a lifetime warranty on every bike! Every person I've talked to or have been helped by are super nice and friendly, always (sorry I don't remember anyones name!!). They're also SUPER quick with their turn around times - often I'll pop in during my lunch break and my bike will be done by the time I'm off work. My bike was also a very reasonable price, and I can't get over that they do free repairs when you purchase from them - I feel like that alone should convince you to come here. A+ Back of the store (service department / repairs etc) can be busy so there may be a wait, but I spoke with the owner who said he is working on improving the service and it has not been easy to find enough good people. Reading other reviews, other people have had good luck so it is most likely a matter of whether they are busy or not. I had help from the kind salespeople in finding a handlebar mount for my "tin can" drink holder, to add a bit of personality as well as functionality to my vintage Schwinn, as well as some grips so that I can keep the original parts in original shape for a future owner. This place is rude and makes you feel like you are a hassle for even walking in the door. They are not polite or helpful. They charge for absolutely everything and are grumpy as they do it. I am very disappointed in Wheel World and their integrity during the pandemic. They are taking advantage of loyal customers by price gouging and claiming that it is the markup of the manufacturer which is false. They know there is a shortage of bicycles in the U.S. and are raising prices over MSRP. When questioned about their "Price Match Guarantee", they hide behind inventory levels at their competitors and also state that the item they are matching must be available within driving distance. I asked if they would match the MSRP and was declined because there aren't any available through the manufacturer. Terrible business, I highly suggest finding a shop that has compassion for their customers and an understanding of what is fair during these trying times. read more

I've been here a few times over the last couple weeks while I scoped out different styles and everyone has always been great. They're helpful and knowledgeable without being pushy. Seriously, the service was top-notch. Remy was my sales guy this past weekend. He took the time to completely adjust the bike for me and he showed me (several times) how to take the wheels off so I can get the bike in my car. I didn't do too much searching around but I found the prices here [for the type of bike I wanted] to be the best in the area. Considering it also includes a lifetime, transferable warranty, I definitely left feeling like I got a deal. Or I at least didn't get ripped off. I ordered a part on their website on a Friday. Got a call the following Thursday that it was ready for pick up. Upon arrival they asked for my drivers license to confirm ID. Then they made a copy of it, which I thought was weird. I even showed them the email confirmation of the online purchase on my phone and the two employees shrugged their shoulders and said it was policy. Even on the receipt. They weren't friendly and had minimal customer service. They acted like they were doing me a favor by having the part. I understand it's busy season for bike shops but where's the customer service? I have had a pleasant experience at wheel world in the past- in fact my current bike was purchased there. This review is specifically for the younger Asian- American employee working the floor around 1:15pm on 5/12. I was in need of a new seat and seat post for my Giant bike due to it being stolen. In a store that was empty of customers and minimal stock I went up to this salesman to ask where I might find the items I needed. Almost immediately I could tell my experience wasn't going to go well since it seemed like it was more a bother to him to help me out. I was asked what bike I had. I knew the brand and type, but not a model. I mentioned that it was a neon green Giant and was purchased for around $350 last year. He looked at me like I was a total idiot at that point and repeated in a sarcastic voice "neon green". I then showed him a picture of the bike so that he knew what model I was referring to. This bike is less than a year old and put hay at his store. Also, probably the most common model being it's a basic entry level bike. Keep in mind with an empty store and all he was doing was leaning on the counter when I approached him, he points to the other end of the store and said try there, if not, then try the repair guys. Being that he now has seen a picture of the bike I thought I could spare one more second of his busy schedule and ask, "what size seat post?". He looks at me annoyed and says "what model". I replied "I showed you a picture" and all he does is smirk and keep saying what model. I then knew at that point I had no intention of spending money at wheel world. I think this salesman should be reminded that he job is in-fact sales and assistance to customers. He also should be reminded that during a time where so many people are out of work due to covid, he is lucky to have a job and income. Sadly, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Brad was our salesperson and he was not only super helpful and knowledgeable but also very patient as we tried out several bikes and asked lots of ignorant questions. They have a huge selection, and even have several XL bikes for 6'3 people like me. I was also very impressed by how Brad seemed to know all the customers in the store, their bikes, and their stories. He really seemed like a special employee to me. I really appreciated his help, Brad was genuinely interested in getting the best bike for us. Now my wife and I each have hybrid bikes and we love them. We are definitely going to be back in Wheel World to buy accessories, which seem to be reasonably priced. I am a bike snob. I have several bikes, all of which are heavily customized, if not completely custom down to the frame. I like esoteric, high-end brands, and generally avoid off-the-rack gear. Normally, I only shop at Wheel World to grab on-hand essentials like tubes, small parts, the occasional pair of sunglasses. I've always had positive experiences, but nothing that warranted a review. Like many, I've pent a lot more time on two wheels in the last few months, and I popped a spoke on my rear wheel. I do most of my own repairs, but I don't have wheel or bottom bracket tools, so I needed professional help. Wheel World is close and convenient so I gave them a shot. They did an excellent job on my wheel. Replacing a spoke and re-truing a custom, hand-built wheel requires patience and expertise, and the shop at WW did an excellent job! Be patient with them as they are super busy. Even so, Saturday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon turnaround was more than reasonable. The price, while not cheap, was reflective of the time and care obviously taken to do the job right. I would recommend them to anyone and will be back in the future. read more
