If we could give more stars than 5, we definitely would. We started by making our reservation for 9 at the WRONG location and showed up right on time at the American Fork restaurant. Olivia at the front (and the rest of the host staff) were not only accommodating but also very kind, especially in light of my dumb mistake! Even though it was Friday night and we had 9 people, they quickly accommodated us. We were seated within 5 minutes. Plus they seated us in the outer (quieter) room, in a corner, which was so nice with kids. Then we had the pleasure of a wonderful server, Reese, who kept us all fully stocked with chips and salsa, never letting our bowls get empty. She got our orders right, got the 5 year old fed first, and always made sure we had full waters. She checked on us a couple of times but wasn't intrusive at all. I haven't even talked about the menu but let's just say we all left a little chubbier but with smiles on our faces. They even had complimentary birthday cakes, which we've found most restaurants don't do anymore. Thank you, Sol Agave, for a lovely evening. I'm afraid you may be stuck with us as frequent diners. I don't normally write reviews.. this is actually the first time but I felt was necessary. We had an 8:30 PM Valentine's Day reservation at Sol Agave and understood it would be busy. Our waitress took our drink and food order and then never returned, even though she continued tending to other tables. There were no drink refills (not even water), no chips and salsa refills, and ultimately no food. Tables seated after us were served first and left while we continued waiting. By 10:45 PM over two hours later much of the restaurant had cleared out as it was to close soon. We even noticed the manager sitting and chatting with a coworker at a nearby table while the restaurant was clearly slow, yet no one came to update or check on us. Finally we approached the manager, there was no meaningful apology, explanation, or attempt to investigate. We were told not to worry about the drinks we offered to pay for and repeatedly encouraged to "have a good night," which felt dismissive and more like an attempt to quiet the situation than resolve it. We left, which was incredibly disappointing given the special occasion, and at that hour most other restaurants were already closing, leaving no other options for dinner. We were lucky to arrive at 5:45 and were seated immediately before the crowds suddenly appeared. The food itself was good - although I have to admit that I might not be the target market. The prices seemed really high to me and I typically like Mexican with a bit more flavor. (I'm a flavor and price over fancy presentation kind of guy). We ended up spending $80 for two plates of carnitas, a rice pudding and a soda that they charged us for that wasn't ours but should have been charged to our friends at the same table... Truthfully I've had better Mexican food for less than half that price. Plenty of other people were waiting in line so as I said, I don't think I'm the target market. Unlikely to return but now I can say I've been there. read more

The American Fork Sol Agave has skyrocketed since its launch 2020. There's a reason they had to move locations -- this restaurant is busy 7 nights a week. The food is unique and delicious. Some items are fairly priced while others seem to be a bit overpriced. But the quality is consistently on point. On my most recent visit, the food was delicious but it was very slow getting to our table. Each of our menu items came out at separate times. From the first dish to the last, no less than 60 minutes had passed. (Our salmon salad came out very last, which seemed odd since it was arguably the easiest to prepare.) Our server was really nice and apologetic, so that helped a little. The sugar cane filet, pulpo a las brasas, and the shrimp taquitos won the night. They were all exceptionally prepared and flavorful. You really can't go wrong with any menu item at Sol Agave. (Be sure to make a reservation and be prepared to pay a decent price for a decent meal.) read more

Huge thank you to Netsai, she was so sweet and her suggestions were very helpful and she checked on us frequently even though they were so busy. This is more of an upscale Mexican restaurant with a limited menu and a lot of seafood options. I typically prefer more down home mom & pop joints. The overall ambiance was clean and contemporary. We didn't wait long at 5:30 on a Saturday to be seated. Our server Marco was great. The Cadillac margaritas are very small for $16. An Agua Fresca is $9!!!! The chips are ok, but the beans and salsa dips were really good. It's quite pricey in my opinion. Our dinner did take quite awhile to come out as it was very busy. My husband had the Tacos de Hongo and said they were amazing. The meat was perfect. I had the Crispy Chicken Tinga Tacos and I only ate one. The chicken was dry in my opinion and not very tasty. For desert we tried the butter cake since it was highly rated in reviews. It wasn't worth $15 that's for sure. I've had better and more affordable. I won't get back as I'm nut really into overpriced specialty Mexican meals. But it was a very popular spot, so if this is your thing, go check it out! read more

The food is great, especially the pork belly bites and the butter cake. The service is subpar. The server did a great job. I just don't think the management is too good. The first time I came they messed up and charged us for another table and we had to wait about 30 minutes afterwards for them to get it refunded and recharged. When we were just hoping to leave right after eating. No apology from the manager... The second time we went the bottom of a cup fell out as we picked up the drink, right when we got it. Spilled all over the table onto my friend's clothes and left the area and their clothes extremely sticky. Apologies from the staff and the waiter. The manager came over and just stood there. No apologies. Floors were sticky the entire night. I just don't think the manager has good conflict resolution skills. Not expecting comps, but having been to many restaurants, there weren't any mention of how can we make the situation better when it was clearly the restaurant's mistake. We went out on a lazy Sunday and decided it's been awhile since we last visited Sol Agave. Wife got the watermelon margarita, it was minty although the menu said it had basil. She liked it better with mint anyway so it worked out. It was light and refreshing. Shrimp taquetos were a bit overcooked, tougher than normal and the tortillas was too crispy. It's been awesome in past visits but not so much during this one. I got the Taco de hungo, ordered medium rare, came out medium in spots and well done in others, but it takes a lot for me to send anything back so I sucked it up. I don't think grilling steak is there strong suit here. The cheese and mushrooms were bomb, I love cooked cheese on cast iron, something about the taste and texture. It comes with tortillas to make it into tacos but that was unnecessary. It was more of a cast iron steak dish. She got the Chicken enchiladas with Serrano tomatillos cream sauce. Super good. She was very attentive to us and made sure to check in often. The horchata was amongst the best I've ever had. We always get the pulpo appetizer, which can even be an entree with how generous the size is. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly and paired well with the mole sauce. My husband had the lobster enchiladas which he enjoyed. We had to of course end with butter cake for dessert, which is probably one of Sol Agave's best dishes! Very prompt service. Right after we ate we were served chips and salsa. I felt very well attended to by our server Danny. He introduced himself, and asked if we've been before and needed help with the menu or suggestions. The ambiance is very moody yet lively. And our appetizers and entree came super fast so I was glad I didn't have to fill up on chips and salsa tho those were v tasty too.
