Dr. Tang is the best! She is patient, gentle, intelligent and obviously well-educated. She takes the time to explain what's going on before she does it, and she had answers to all my questions. I had some cavities and more developing, so she discussed preventitive measures without making me feel guilty for not flossing as much as I should. She discussed the benefits of regular flossing vs. waterpik vs. flossers when I asked, and fluoride options for myself and my son. Dr. Tang went above and beyond by selecting a better crown quality and color than I had previously, without any additional cost to me. She also gave me a professional fluoride treatment to apply to my teeth at home. These cavities have been developing for some time - I wish my old dentist had the sense and care to discuss these preventative measures with me... Overall, going to the dentist is a pleasurable experience, and I plan on bringing my 3 year old son to Dr. Tang as well! read more

Based on the Yelp reviews I decided to give Solage Dental a try and I' m so glad I did! The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by Dr Tang and the receptionist Irina, in a really clean and comfortable office. I felt extremely welcomed immediately. First thing was the paperwork. Irina took the time to look up my insurance policy and was extremely patient and nice about the whole process! After handing in my paperwork, Dr. Vivian Tang asked questions to just get to know me and my dental concerns. She even went over all the paperwork I handed in to carefully go over some of my dental issues. I think there was even a question in there that asked "what do you look for in a dentist?" - and thought wow, she must really care about the patient's experience cus it really showed. She was very gentle, had up-to-date equipment (digital xrays which was a huge plus!), and really thoroughly explained everything. After my cleaning, which was a GREAT and very thorough job btw! she and Irina even gave me a goodie bag of really nice treats!! It didn't feel like I went to the dentist, more like I just got pampered at very relaxing spa- without the massages of course :P I'm definitely recommending Solage Dental to my coworkers and friends who are in the area. My recent visit to Solage Dental was by far the best dental appointment I've had in my life. I was greeted warmly by Olga and Dr. Tang. Dr. Tang spent close to an hour with me and she personally did my x-rays and cleaning. I"ve never had a dentist do this before. My first visit with Dr. Tang was for a routine cleaning and I had a great experience. The cleaning was very thorough and she took the time to share her observations of my dental health. Not all of it was pretty (slight gum recession, worn molars from grinding) but she explained the reasons for why these things happen and talked about options to prevent further damage. So this morning my entire family took up Dr. Tang's entire morning schedule and it was such a pleasant experience. She deserves every star of those 5 that we can give out. She was extremely pleasant and explained everything in great detail. Hands down the most gentle dentist I've ever been too and that's saying a while lot. Dr.Erbez in Antioch is extremely a close 2nd. Not only did Dr.Tang explain things to each of my family members, but she did it ALL !! Amazing because she's 5 1/2 months pregnant ( congrats). She took the digital x rays, cleaned and inspected our teeth. I've never seen a dentist do everything .. What a great personable visit to a great Dentist.. Dr. Tang is a wonderful dentist. What I like about her is that she doesn't use dental hygienists to do the cleaning. She does it herself, which allows her to know exactly what is going on with your mouth. She takes the time to explain everything she will do. I also appreciate the fact that she doesn't try to over sell some procedures or equipment that you don't need. She is very reasonable. I convinced my husband to switch to Solage Dental. He was a hard one to convince because he was still going to his Fremont dentist for a while. But once he tried her, he never went back to Fremont! Finally, she doesn't really advertise it but she also take children and she is wonderful with them. I've had only one dentist my whole life for nearly three decades and after getting my first dental cleaning with another dentist, Dr. Tang, my whole perspective on what constitutes the ideal dentist changed over night. Right off the bat, I felt welcomed as a part of her practice with an awesome welcome gift and her genuine concern of anything that was bothering my teeth/gums. She really strived to figure out what I wanted to get out of my dentist appointment versus my previous dentist that shuffled his patients as if we were in some work queue that he wanted to turnaround in record speed. There is really something to be said about the right fit with your dentist. Any dentist can be knowledgeable and pretend to care but with Dr. Tang, she took the extra step to explain each action she was taking, the reasoning why, and how it impacts me. She also did all these extra checks in the beginning even before the cleaning by proactively monitoring for any other diseases that could be identified by the symptoms in the mouth and measuring my gums. I was also utterly impressed with Solage Dental's up to date technology and equipment. I had asked all these questions of what that was and what this was because my previous dentist must have been using the same equipment from the 70s. She happily explained all the different gadgets and I can honestly say that I learned more in that one session than in the last 28 years. I don't have kids yet but I did notice a lot of kid-friendly toy giveaways and combined with Dr. Tang's professional, caring, patient, and friendly demeanor, I'll be sure to bring my kids here too! A super bonus was the free wi-fi at the location since I was able to be productive while waiting for my husband to get his cleaning done. The location was very peaceful and convenient to get to versus those annoying locations that are jammed right in the middle of the busiest strip mall in town. In my opinion, Dr. Tang embodies everything you would want in a dentist -- she's knowledgeable and highly skilled, she's a great communicator, and she's genuine and friendly. I've been going to her for 4 years now and I'll continue to make the trip to her new office! The most terrifying thing to me about dentist visits is getting numbed. When that big, long, scary needle comes out, I just about pass out! But Dr. Tang keeps me distracted and calm, and she also has this great technique where she pinches my cheek while needle is going in to distract me from the pain. I know, I'm a big baby! But the point is that Vivian has a real sixth sense about what a patient needs, and that's an intangible that you can only get in a handful of dentists. It usually also takes me 4-5 doses of Novocain (and over an hour) before I'm numbed enough to work on. I can't imagine any making me feel more comfortable during that ordeal than Dr. Tang does. read more

I had my first ever teeth whitening session at Solage Dental and Dr. Tang was amazing. She is so patient, kind and takes the time to explain every step of the procedure. She also made sure that I was comfortable and would periodically ask if I was doing okay. Dr. Tang used the Pola advanced teeth whitening system and seriously you could see the difference after one round of application. The whole procedure took about 40 minutes with five rounds of applications. I was uber impressed because I've heard horror stories of teeth whitening but in my case it went quickly and smoothly with some slight tooth sensitivity. I am so happy with the results (3 shades lighter) and with the time and service by Dr. Tang. read more

I initially wasn't thrilled to drive ~30 minutes to Solage Dental's office in Pleasanton, but Dr Tang was the only dentist I could find with Saturday hours. However, I have had such a good experience with Dr Tang that the long drive is absolutely worth it. I made my first appointment online through Zocdoc, which is a huge plus for me. It's so easy and convenient. Dr Tang also sends email reminders for appointments a couple days prior. The actual cleaning was a very relaxing and personal experience. Dr Tang takes care to schedule patients far enough apart so there is never a backup of patients waiting, and she is always ready for me as soon as I arrive. I also like that Dr Tang does the cleanings herself. I've been to a lot of dentists in the past who had hygienists do the cleaning, and the dentist just came in to read x-rays. As a matter of fact, the last dentist I went to wasn't actually even there when I went in for a cleaning, only the receptionist and hygienist were there. Needless to say, I appreciated the care that Dr Tang took during my visit. Irina, Dr Tang's assistant, takes care of insurance and billing. Billing has been very easy, and Irina is always able to give a quote in advance for any larger (more expensive) treatments. I am not surprised to see all the 5 star reviews here. Dr. Vivian Tang DDS is the best dentist I've ever seen. Her work is excellent. I found her when I was experiencing pain in my jaws due to a good dentist's beginning to rest his upper body weight on my lower jaw. I know he tried to accommodate me, but I finally had to find a new dentist. That new dentist was Dr. Tang. I've been her patient for years now. She just installed a crown in my lower jaw. Dr. Tang shows an unmatched level of concern and attention to detail. She never gives off that "rushed" feeling that you might get from other dentists that juggle between patients. She is extremely earnest, a quality you can detect through her empathy and focus. I've had a lot of work done by her (to correct some pretty bad previous work from other dentists) and all of it looks great and functions well. I have gone to almost 10 dentists my entire life. I've had braces as a child, I've had all my wisdom teeth extracted, I've had all my molars filled, I visit dentists regularly twice a year. I am one of those people who absolutely loves going to the dentist and getting my teeth cleaned. However, that does not mean that all dentists are created equal. I have had my share of horror stories with dentists - including one who was distracted watching TV while changing my filling, that he drilled through my gums!! That experience with the other dentist caused me pain and suffering, and additional out-of-pocket for antibiotic medications that I never would have needed if he did not drill through my gums. I am certain you will never have that experience with Dr. Tang. There are key characteristics I look for in a dentist, and Dr. Tang embodies all these traits: * Professional yet Personable: When you visit her, it will be clear to you that she is very knowledgeable and experienced. She does a great job of talking you through what she is doing to your teeth and explaining what she is doing / what you should expect. But beyond her great credentials, Dr. Tang is a very warm individual. She has the best "bedside manners" among all the dentists I have visited.
