I don't go for pedicures often so I thought I would treat myself yesterday, after asking friends for recommendations I made an appt. I was asked which pedicure I wanted from their menu and settled on the basic. When I sat in the chair I was immediately approached by a woman technician and the "up sale" began. Wanting my heels worked on she convinced me to the deluxe upgrade. I was disappointed as no bath salts were added to the water, she cut my nails uneven, did not push my cuticles back before clipping. The clippers, instruments didn't appear to be cleaned between clients, which is gross. The basic paint job was marginal at best, after closer inspection she missed corners of the nail. Super disappointed, will not be going back. read more

What a perfect nail salon. I haven't gone to so so many, but this one has been my favorite for years. Steven and Diana are amazing with their nail art. This Valentines Day I went in and got a pedicure by Tony which was one of the best I've ever had. Their prices are very reasonable for the amazing services you receive. They even handed out these cute heart balloons to everyone in the salon. I have very sensitive skin, and all the products they use do not make me break out which is kind of shocking. There isn't a harsh "nail salon" chemical smell at all and for how many people are here, it is very quiet and relaxing. Everyone here is great at conversation, but also isn't awkward if you want to recline with your eyes closed too. There are no hard up-sales and the nail techs aren't shouting across the nail salon like some places do. I definitely won't be going anywhere else in Camarillo as long as Solar Nails is here. read more

Went in for a regular gel manicure on Saturday 7/22. The man that helped me kept answering his phone while helping me. I was originally going to get red, but then he cut me twice so I told him to just leave it clear after he tried to stop the bleeding with his dirty thumb. On top of that he charged me full price and asked for a tip. I managed to fix my nails, but you can still see the hole he left trying to remove cuticles I didn't even have... What I got vs what I asked for. I asked for chocolate brown chrome nails. I knew I wasn't going to love my nails when she added white as the base polish. Then she went looking in a small grocery bag for brown chrome. She found one and started to apply it. But immediately upon application I can see it was rose gold. As soon as I left the salon I could see there were bald spots. I'm on day two and it's chipping. The gel they removed from my previous manicure was filed off and left my nails so thin. I asked for strengthening gel and was told it would be extra. Like your the reason why my nails are paper thin now. I hate complaining at the salon esp when I tried asking for a solution and it gets shut down. After that I refuse to say another word. It was my first and last time trying this salon. read more

She was preoccupied with what seemed like EVERYTHING that was going on in the nail salon except my nails. then she left streaks on my nails and when i asked her to fix it she asked me what i wanted her to do? I WANT A SMOOTH NAIL obviously i am not the nail tech how would i know how to fix the issue. maybe if she had dedicated some diligence into actually looking at my nails during the process this would have not occurred. this is by far the worst gel manicure i have ever received, will 100% not be returning to this establishment. read more

Got acrylic nails for the first time here and they were genuinely so nice and kind! The place is family owned and each person makes a constant effort to have a nice conversation with you. I showed a reference photo for what I wanted in my nails and they were able to replicate it with no problem. Only $50 too which is really cheap in my opinion for acrylics (with the butterflies and everything!). Would come back forsure if I was in the area again. Prompt service, they went above and beyond in trying to get me the design I liked. BUT, language barrier being what it was, I couldn't get across that I wanted the design, the color was optional. Was told they couldn't do the design I wanted, then changed their minds. The color on the palette I chose was numbered 10 (cats eye colors in blue and purple), but the nail color bottle itself was green and yellow. Which led to 4 people arguing about what to do. The base color was already applied. They finally put a chrome color on, and it Def wasn't what I wanted, but I will own not speaking up as it took so long and was such drama I didn't want to create more drama by telling them I just wanted a lighter color. The pigment used for the chrome stained my fingers and toes and got all over my cuticles. The gentleman doing my nails cut my skin to get the color off. Some of the color is bubbled too, and I left about 10 min ago. Over $100 for mani pedi. Now, the design I LOVE. But it looks like a bad home job on the color tbh. I might go back if I lived in this area, because they truly tried their best (which counts in my book) but was here for vacation. Take my review for what it's worth. They were busy, they were nice, the nail job Def wasn't worth what I paid. read more
