    The bar

The restaurant is cute wasn't crowded at all when I came in for lunch. Sat at the bar and the server came very quick to bring water and a menu. Tried the Korean beef tacos and ancho fries. Everything was amazing but I just didn't personally care for the dipping sauce for the fries. Was too sweet? Would definitely eat here again.

Not this visit but normally get the ceviche which is the best in Ft Wayne! Went for savor Fort Wayne and it was a great deal. We loved talking to JoJo I think was his name? He was great. The portions are large and ingredients so fresh! Sangria is great price and delicious. Churro waffle is a must. Often get tacos when we go but it was good to change it up. Small restaurant so probably good to make reservations. Sit in the back in the winter to avoid the cold from the door opening.

It's a small place but the food is very good. So far we have tried the tacos and the bowls. Both of them were delicious, not greasy, fresh and with flavor. Service is good, they have several options for beers, they have an outdoor seating area so you can enjoy the nice weather when available . The only thing I don't like is that they only have canned drink, no fountain drinks, so forget about the free refill .

I like this place, but I don't LOVE it. Food is good and Taco Tuesdays are pretty reasonable. I like that it's locally owned and the recipes are interesting and innovative. What problems I have experienced are not overwhelmingly horrible, but they could improve and otherwise great establishment. Problems: Small, close seating. It gets pretty loud when it's full. The tall chairs are not comfortable at all, but the wall-attached booths are. Service is _odd_ I guess? It never feels like things are going smoothly. The music, again, is a little annoying. It's too loud most of the time, and the selections don't really fit. Mostly songs you wish you could have forgotten when they stopped being played on the radio. Cocktails are expensive. Greatness: The food! Great flavors! I wish there were more of the chips! Locality. It's close by, and easy to get to. I want this place to do well. Just a few changes could really help!

Great food. Came on a weeknight and sat at the bar. They have a limited selection of drinks (no liquor) but a good variety! Ordered chips and guac and tacos. All great! Didn't love the seasoning on the chips. Took away from the chip flavor itself! Would def go back!

Enjoyed the food and the vibrant atmosphere! Tried the 2 for $11 tacos, and they were big and tasty. Loved the option to mix and match tacos. Service was excellent, and the food arrived promptly. Will definitely be back!

Great location, but I was not expecting this place to be so tiny inside! Very small limited menu. Was shocked that they didn't have Mexican beer or regular beer on the menu, just IPA draft beer. My 3 little tacos with mediocre meat alone was $18.00. The thai shrimp burrito was overpowered and saugy from too much peanut sauce. The black mole fries were good, but they should have put fries on one side & meat on the other side because the fries got saugy. Probably won't go back but the staff were super friendly.

You had me at inspired by Roy Choi. Just kidding, but not really. I first came across the Sol Kitchen Food Truck at the YLNI's Farmers' Market. I lived in San Diego for 5 years prior to moving to Fort Wayne. Since then I've been on the search for good tacos. After having tried a couple tacos from the food truck, I visited Solbird. This place is amazing. Good food, good local beer, and good vibes. My favorite tacos include the chicken tinga, pork carnitas, and Korean beef. On my most recent visit Jerry, the owner, was having a photo shoot to capture life during the pandemic. I chatted with Jerry about his inspiration - Roy Choi - and told him how much I loved his tacos. Solbird definitely has the best tacos in Fort Wayne. After photos were taken of el Californio burrito (it has french fries!) Jerry gave it to me. I really appreciate his passion for his business and bring people together through food. He also told me he designed the bar to be a place for people to meet. Even with social distancing, Solbird is still a place to socialize and meet new friends.

The downfalls: the place is FILTHY, and this is every time we frequent the restaurant. The tables are dirty and we have to wipe them off, there is so much debris in the booth cushions collected over a good period of time, the sides of the tables are gross. The place is very dusty, the bathrooms aren't very clean either. There were only two employees working, the young lady was very nice and helpful, the young man just complained and griped about everything in front of us customers, which is inappropriate to hear complaining at where you eat. Again, the food is really good, we have never had anything there that doesn't taste good. The food is fresh, it's just filthy.

We don't get many opportunities to go to this location, but it is our favorite. However, today was not a good day for this location at all. They had one staff member working when we entered. One was on delivery and the other was on break. She was kind though. No one else was in the building so we felt that we would have a great experience. Upon reflection, the fact that she was preparing the corn as well as cooking chicken on the griddle should have been a sign. We chose to be impressed. Wrong decision. Can someone tell me why someone would go on break at opening time? I ordered the homewrecker with chicken and my husband ordered the homewrecker with steak. I had a free cup of queso on my app so I redeemed it. We ordered small drinks. Should be a cheap order right? $48 later we carried our food to the table. It was cold. They gave me my husband's burrito and mine to him. He had ordered the salsa in his burrito that has raw tomato. I cannot eat raw tomato. Food allergy. Not good. Because of circumstances beyond our control, we could not, nor did we take the time to re-order. Needless to say given the cost, and this experience, we will think twice before going back. And I hate that. Here's hoping something changes. It needs to change.

We ordered a chicken quesadilla but I saw one of the offers from a popular delivers service for this restaurant was 20 percent off 40 dollar spend. I was nearly at 20 dollars after the quesadilla (yes if you haven't used food delivery or have been living under a rock, it's expensive). So I saw an ala carte mole enchilada for 11 dollars. I assumed it was just a single enchilada with no sides (hence Ala carte). So I ordered 2. But no! It was (2) enchiladas per plate with a large side of rice per plate and 2 large bags of chips and salsa!! It was by far the most food I've ever gotten from a food delivery service for a grand total of a little over 40 dollars. It was insane! As far as the quality goes, it was pretty standard Mexican food, about as typical as 90 percent you'd find in America. But it was good, nothing about the food quality or taste would stop me from going back there, especially with those prices.

It was very disappointing and not anything even close to the flavor of Mexican food. The tacos smelled and tasted as if they had been reclaimed from rotten meat, chili rellenos were not fried and had no batter around them, and tasted horrible. Their texture was that of a soft fried egg. There was no spice heat to the food, no chili flavor on either dish, but there was way too much salt. The service, however, was pretty good, and the ambiance is great.

I lived nearly half my life in Arizona and California, where they know how to make good Mexican food. The food at Habanero was the blandest Mexican food I have ever encountered. Located in an industrial district, I wasn't too surprised when I pulled up after 7 one evening and it was fairly quiet. "Probably does most of its business during lunches," I thought. The hostess greeted me quickly and, when I asked if they had a bar area, she ushered me to it and I took a seat at the bar. I should probably have taken a clue from the fact that dirty glasses were clustered at the end of the bar, and there were neither bartender nor other patrons in sight. The other dinner patrons were in the dining room. Chips and salsa came quickly, followed by my bartender who took my order for a house Margarita, on the rocks. "Would you like salt or sugar with that?" should have been my second clue. Sugar? On a Margarita? The chips needed salt, but fair enough. Lots of people are watching their salt, and that was easily remedied. The salsa, though, tasted more like pureed tomatoes, lacking any kind of discernable heat. Strike one. The Margarita was also a disappointment: watery and weak. Though she poured the mix from a jug, it's not uncommon to prepare a large batch of mix early in the day and add tequila just before service, but that was not the issue here. Flavor and any punch from the tequila were conspicuously absent. Strike two. For my solid food, I ordered a chili relleno, my litmus test of a good Mexican place. While delivered quickly and piping hot temperature-wise, the sauce had an unusual sweetness to it while the poblano pepper had no. Heat. Whatsoever. Strike three. When I stood up, signaling that I was ready to leave, the server simply said, "You're ready for your check?" My Margarita was only about one-third gone, and I'd only taken a few bites of my relleno. An astute restaurant professional would have noticed that very little had been eaten and would have asked if everything was all right. It wasn't, but they either didn't notice or knew not to ask. A good four- or five-star experience - even after a single visit - will encourage repeat visits and a positive review will encourage others to try the establishment. A one-star experience, especially when it's the first visit, will not inspire the patron to give the place a second chance, and a review based on that single experience will likely have a chilling effect. Sorry to be "that guy," but I won't be back.
