Every time we visit Fort Wayne we try to eat somewhere new. Since our grandkids (and their parents) live there so we drive up several times a year to visit. We'd been by Guadalupe's a few times but decided this visit was our time to finally try it. We had no idea what to expect when we walked in. What we found is similar to Moe's, Chipotle, Salsarita's, QDoba, etc. Fast casual where you walk down the line and they build your food as you go. I'm a fan of this type of eatery and I was hungry, so it was a perfect storm. They have an impressive amount of food options. Chicken, steak, barbacoa, carnitas, tofu, veggies, chorizo, ground beef, and chicken barbacoa are the protein options! It's impressive. you can chose a burrito, a bowl, tacos, a salad, or nachos. As you go down the line they add your additional ingredients like veggies, cheese(s) and sauce(s). There are other options, of course. Chips & Salsa, Chips and Queso, all of your typical Mexican side-dish fare. The restaurant was clean and tidy when we walked in, and every staff member was occupied cleaning, serving, or doing food prep. I was very impressed by the guy who was sitting there preparing fresh onions. He was standing there slicing and chopping onions right out in the open. They don't hide anything at Guadalupe's. It's all right out front. Our food was hot and delicious. I had a chicken burrito with some fresh jalapeño slices and pico de gallo (always a great combination)...and it was awesome. There's a sign above the doorway that says: No Cans. No Microwaves. No Freezers. Made from Scratch. I can tell that Guadalupe's takes pride in what they do. read more

Ordered online, and the food was ready to pick up in 5 minutes. Steak Burrito - $9.55 - Pretty delicious. Very saucy, but nothing fell out of the burrito, which was pretty shocking. Steak is a bit chewy, but you get a lot for a cheap price, so no complaints, really. Carnitas Burrito - $8.70 - Good taste. Carnitas was also a little chewy but still decent. No one can say the burritos are dry. Definitely tons of sauce. Medium-sized burritos. No free chips and salsa. Some other restaurants may give you free chips and salsa for the same price. I assume the two working there are husband and wife. Both are very friendly and nice. If you want a quick burrito for lunch or dinner, it's decent flavor and price. I'd eat here again. read more

I've tried Guadalupe's 2x recently. I like their chips and queso. The queso has the consistency I prefer, not watered down or soupy. I've had the steak tacos, the meat is cut in cubes and it's generously piled in the tortilla. It's seasoned, not overly so, but enough to make the taco delicious with every bite. The location is situated in a small elongated strip mall plaza. There is parking in the front and around the building. The establishment isn't huge, but there is ample space to sit down and eat. It's not fancy, but clean and functional. They operate much like the TexMex places around the city. You can chose your meat and toppings as you go down a line. read more

First time going and was really pleased with the service, the prices and the amount of food! The first person in the line who served us was very kind and saw me eyeing the pork carnitas after I ordered the chicken. He asked if I'd like to try the carnitas free of charge to see if I liked it for a different time and gave me a good sized sample portion! Everyone was very kind and appreciative of us coming in. A+ customer service. The inside is clean and is well styled. There is an option to eat inside as they have several tables and booths. The location is also amazing as it's close to Leo and the north side of Fort Wayne. I love Mexican food and have a special place in my heart for "fast Mexican" places like these. I ordered a bowl with cilantro lime rice, pinto beans and chicken as the base. The rice was well cooked but was lacking some flavor. The beans and chicken were also on the blander side but were cooked well. The sample of carnitas I tried was very tender and juicy! Id love to try the other protein options. The spicy chorizo caught my eye for next time. The toppings were all great, especially the cheese, sour cream (it's like Chipotles style sour cream) guacamole and salsa! I got their hot salsa and it was great! The portions they give are good sized and a bowl could definitely last for two meals. One of my favorite things however, was the side of chips and queso. Guadalupe's queso is a sit-down Mexican restaurant style queso. Thicker and very creamy/cheesy. The prices are great too. The chicken bowl starts at around $7.50ish with add ins like quac/extra cheese costing more of course. All in all, give Guadalupe's a try! It was very tasty and we will be back for sure! read more

I tried the Guadalupe's location on DuPont and really like this place! Owner and staff are always friendly and efficient. This is like a Chipotle but better in my option. All fresh ingredients and once the burrito is assembled, the extra large tortilla Barely closes as it is stuffed to the max. This will a regular stop for sure! read more

We tried everything and didn't find one bad item. Kids meals are a great value and was the perfect portion for my ten year old. I recommend the barbacoa and their house beverages. Never disappoints! Always fresh and flavorful. Staff is super nice and seem to genuinely enjoy being there. Offering a five-star rating after only one visit it not something I do often and is, of course, always subject to the next visit. BUT. That being said, i think this little place has a lot going for it. It's pretty basic inside, not boring but not gonna wow ya. Maybe their goal is to let the food do the talkin. And it does. It's the standard "southwest" style eatery menu similar to that of places like Moe's, Q'doba, or Salsa grill. You know the type, choice of bowl, salad, burrito, nacho's, etc. The usual plethora of toppings choices with guacamole commanding an upcharge. I've eaten and lots of similar places because i love how versatile the menus are, and the food is normally pretty fresh all the time. The difference is quality and taste. For me, the more "home made," the food appears and tastes, the better the restaurant. Well, the food here was excellent. The wife had a salad, and I the nachos. Each with our favorite toppings. The beans were very tasty, not bland, not over seasoned. The two meats we tried (ground beef and chorizo) were excellent. They had really nice flavor. The pico was super fresh and on point, as was everything else. The guac was really good and plentiful. (Not just a tiny spoonful on the corner of the plate), and it was definitely not pre-made from costco type guac either. The portions are impressive and prices reasonable. The staff was super friendly, and this little gem even makes their own beer, which I've not yet tried but plan to. If i had to find something to complain about, it might be the queso. While they had two options, white or yellow, i had the white and found it a bit watery. Just a bit, but quite good nonetheless. I'll post pics the next time I'm there. This time, i was too wrapped up in tasting it, followed by shoveling it as fast as possible because i was truly enjoying it. I WILL be back to try the rest of the menu and will adjust my review if needed, but im feeling pretty optimistic so far. read more

This place is not a good food value, especially if you compare it to Salsa Grille. We got two bowls and a burrito, and our total came to $41! We still can't figure out how we got charged so much (should've asked for the itemized receipt). We added up what they claim to be their menu prices for what we ordered, and all we can figure is that they charged us $8 for extra cheese (on two orders) and a side of salsa (on one order). Their food is really good, but for these prices, and factoring in that they don't give you chips and salsa with your order like Salsa Grille, we won't be back. We can't afford it. read more

Absolutly 5 stars for both the food and the staff. We placed an order online and we accidently picked the wrong location, when I got to Leo rd to pick it up they discovered what had happened and retrieved my order info from the other location, and without hesitation they made my entire order at no charge. I am sure my order was sitting at the other store and was probably discarded. What great customer service it was absolutely my fault, and they just fixed it. 5 stars does not seem like enough. Very excellent food! Not a very long wait. The line went very fast. They are friendly nice and helpful. They give you so much food, I had a burrito couldn't finish it. My husband said this is the best (Mexican Food) he's had since we moved here and we've tried many mexican restaurants around the Fort. I highly recommend this place. We are going back tomorrow we will take pictures with a short review. This is a small place but very clean as it's new in the area. read more
