As you can see from my past 7 reviews this is one of my top 10 favorites for happy hour. I was here with my family of seven on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day. Jonathan seated us at a table for seven near the bar. I started with my usual two happy hour pineapple martinis. I enjoyed my blackened smash burger with fries. I also enjoyed my bold, dry, and roasty Baby Bob stout draft beer. Bartender Conner also stopped by to say hello. My total bill was $212 excluding gratuity. Hannah T. served us very well. The restaurant is located on the Delaware shore, and we were visiting from Tampa, Florida. Our purpose was to help a friend celebrate their birthday and they had rented the restaurant out so it was a catered affair. Now where we live in Florida as well known for their seafood, but the Delaware area has a whole selection different than what we're used to. So I was looking forward to what they had to offer. After a very long drive up to Delaware yesterday we stopped in for dinner at the Northeast Seafood Kitchen. The place was packed and we would have had to wait about 30 minutes so we decided to eat outside. They had a covered patio with umbrellas on the side tables. It had stopped raining so we took a seat under the umbrellas. Once seated we enjoyed some delicious steamed clams with some lemon butter sauce that was outstanding. Unfortunately it started raining and we were still eating, we braved the weather and got soaked! But we enjoyed every minute of it anyway. The food was really good and the service was excellent, as the staff braved the weather to come out and serve us anyway. They had to walk through the rain to bring us our food, and they did it with a smile. Unfortunately the rain came down so hard the patio started to flood, we didn't care it was so warm out we stayed anyway. Lol! We had a blast! read more

I'll start off by saying this is a beautiful restaurant inside, but for the price we paid for our lobster roll (very sad) burnt bun & hardly any lobster plus bland. Our friends got the chicken dish, wish looked more appetizing but odd being it's a seafood restaurant. We also got the crab dip which why it's served with chips, I've always had dip with bread so I did ask our server for some and they kindly brought it out. It was mostly cream cheese and hardly any crab again disappointed since our friends hyped this place up for seafood. I wish I would of taken more pictures but I was overall disappointed especially when you pay $43 for a lobster roll and it comes burnt and lacking meat. I've had better lobster rolls and for half the price. I don't know that I'd try this place again if I was in the area. read more

I can't speak highly enough of this place. The previous reviews on here are spot on. My wife and I were looking for a dinner spot to take the kids to and Northeast Seafood Kitchen popped up. We were a bit worried about taking the kids, but as soon as we arrived, the staff was super accommodating. Our server, John, was fantastic. He was knowledgable, funny and patient. I can't speak highly enough about him. We don't often have a Manager come around and ask how everything was, but it was a great gesture that he did -- even had our kids laughing with his playfulness. The food is easily the best we had all weekend while we were in town. I had the lobster linguine, which was phenomenal. My wife had the scallops, which were equally as good. We went off season, and it was still busy for 5pm dinner. I would expect it to be packed on a nightly basis during peak season (and rightfully so). Check this place out. I initially thought we were at the wrong place since the restaurant is located in a shopping center. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall decor and the ambiance from the moment we walked in. The whole team - from hosts, servers, kitchen crew - genuinely warm, friendly and inviting. Our family enjoy having meals together. The kids can get loud and excited. We do our best at dining out during odd hours or eating further from the general guests to ensure we all have a pleasant meal. With that said, the team provided our family with such a great time! They were gracious in providing us with free app since our server was late in taking our order. TBH, we did not even notice since we were just enjoying the outdoor seating. The kids were having fun in the open space. We ate the crab dip too quickly to share photos and unfortunately, same excuse for the specials steak my husband ordered. I was able to snap a photo of the buttered pasta. I had the seared halibut which was served still hot and perfectly moist in the middle. Fish can be hard to cook and can sometimes be overcooked that the middle is dry, not this one. We are grateful for the experience. Highly recommend especially for families on vacation. read more

The Sodel Group is an amazing restaurant group. The respect they have for their employees and consistency for their service. North East is our favorite restaurant of the restaurants they run. The employees are great but lately the food has gotten boring. The vegetable option for the fish board has gotten to be lazy, Stewed Tomatoes says, I'm out of ideas. The French Onion soup was great but they ran it from spring to the fall and removed it from the menu. It's a great winter soup not summer. The desserts are bla. The pastry chef used to make an amazing Lemon cake, Raspberry cake and now it's bla. Now it's the same all the time. Don't get me wrong the food is consistent, the bartenders and servers are great. Get there ASAP! My family visited this restaurant during our Family Thanksgiving trip. We wanted a spot to grab a glass of wine and some light bites...OMG did we stumble upon a Gem. Everything and I mean everything was delish. The Mussels, the Fried Fish, the oysters, the Cornbread, the drinks! The bartender was the sweetest and completely awesome. I asked him to fix a drink using the local gin Blue Whale (becasue the bottle was so prettt) and he prepared the most delicious drink I ever had mixed with a rosemary infused syrup and basil cucumber. We have been meaning to check this place out for a while and finally ended up getting there. Food was excellent. No complaints on service either. Had their crab dip as an app, not pictured because I forgot to get a pic before it was done. I got the butcher block which was a flank steak topped with chimichurri and my wife got the Black Sea bass fish board. For dessert I got the Boston cream pie and my wife had the oatmeal pie w/ice cream. Only complaint on dessert is that if the oatmeal pie if served with ice cream, the pie should have been served warm. For those of you wondering about cost, it was about $90 per person but we have 2 drinks each, 1 app, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts. read more

They were able to take us right away (which was great since we also had a toddler). They were very accommodating in keeping us out of the sun (as it was really hot that day), & quick when we first arrived, but then service was a bit spotty after we sat down. We were outside & there were several other large parties there too with many younger kids, so I have to imagine that the kitchen was loaded as well as the servers based on the almost full house inside too. The server was apologetic as some of the dishes were coming out slower than others. I had the lobster roll which was pretty good (sorry it's hard when we just got back from Cape Cod & had some amazing ones for comparison). The rest of my family liked their selections, mac & cheese lobster (really rich), as well as the fish & chips and the salmon (although beans were a really strange selection for a side that this came with considering how the other dishes compared etc.). The outdoor space was great & what we wanted. Most of it is covered so you won't get completely burned from the sun, but at times I wish there was a bit more shade overall. The indoor space looked lovely & lots of parents with kids who were sitting outside were coming inside to cool down due to the heat that day. Maybe some outdoor fans would help as it's getting hotter & hotter these days. read more

Returned to Northeast and was not disappointed. The food and service were terrific. It was a night when the restaurant pledged 10% of its take to a local charity. I had the waygu meat loaf and mashed potatoes and my husband, the smashed burger. Northeast Seafood and Kitchen! Don't be fooled by strip malls, although this is a small strip mall the restaurant is big. Plenary of seating inside and also outside. Unfortunately didn't have reservations so couldn't get a seat outside, otherwise it was a 45 minute wait, so decided to stay inside. There is plenty to choose from on the beer and wine list. The food selection on the menu felt just right too. I liked how bright it was inside as it was an early dinner and I really loved the open kitchen. Upon being seated, a few minutes went by and was greeted by the server. Asked for water and bread but only received the water. Had to ask twice for bread. When he finally came to take the order his lackluster feeling towards serving was very noticeable and I could feel the negative aura emanating from him. When the food came out I was taking pictures for YELP and he asked if everything was ok. I replied, "I haven't tried it yet". His response "oh you need to take your pictures first". Yep, that's what All Yelpers do. My meal was grilled salmon as portrayed in the pictures below. I must not have read the menu very well but I didn't expect brown beans in a sweet sauce (like bush beans) with my salmon. I would think that compliments hamburgers and hot dogs better. The salmon I must say was cooked perfect as I request and was pleasantly surprised. Maybe my experience was more surrounded by the server, but overall I really did enjoy the restaurant. We came here on a Wednesday night around 8. There were a good number of patrons, but the place wasn't packed, and we were seated right away. We chose an outdoor table because it was so nice out. I appreciated the electric fans overhead to help keep mosquitos and other insects away. There's a green lot behind the restaurant that abuts the patio, which created the sense of being in the country even though the restaurant is in a strip mall. To start, we ordered the crab dip, which was addictive, and the Old Bay-sprinkled kettle chips that came with it were a perfect complement. We don't normally think of cornbread as an appetizer, but I'm glad we followed the advice of previous reviewers and ordered it. It was just the right balance of savory and sweet, and the strawberry butter was delicious, though it was spread in a conservatively thin layer on top. More strawberry butter, perhaps pooled on the plate, would have been welcome. For my main, I ordered the lobster mac & cheese, which was generously portioned. The flavors were subtler than what I was expecting, but it wasn't bad, and I love smoked gouda. My fiancé got the catfish, which was on that evening's fish board, and liked it. He thought the cucumbers on the side tasted especially fresh. Our server was friendly and helpful, though it seemed like she was in busy-night mode, nudging us along through the meal. I didn't think that was necessary given that it wasn't super busy and there wasn't a wait, but it wasn't a huge deal. We walked in because they didnt' have reservations. It was 7 of us and they were able to seat us within a few minutes. Food portions are large. I ordered a caesar salad, whipped potatoes and cheese fries. I did not need all that. But it was all excellent. We brought in a cake because our family was celebrating an anniversary. They were very adamant that a cake cannot be opened there (their reasoning was if we get sick, they cannot claim it was from them). There was a $16 cutting fee. Um no thanks. And the waiter came back a few times to ask us please not to open it. We respected his wishes, but this is not a fine dining place, so we're not sure why it was such a big deal, but fine. read more

After we ordered, we were brought three pieces of very bland bread with butter that had no taste as well. We were given a carafe of water that was as warm the atmosphere with no ice. Is the ice machine broken as well? My wife had the salmon which was served on top of a pile of baked beans. Very odd combination and the salmon had bones in it. I came here because it was highly recommended by my friend, but I was disappointed by the management and the food. I have a 5mo old so I came with a stroller and was denied service. My husband inquired as to why such a policy exists and exactly what rule was attempted to be followed, the poor hostess was unable to explain. She offered to get the manager who refused to come offer explanation and instead offered to call the fire Marshall for explanation. The hostess saved the day by quickly giving us a table outside. It was a nice evening so I accepted their offer. We sat down to and ordered food and drink. We were with a group of friends and totaled 7 adults. They did not have the clam linguine or the calamari available. This was around 730pm. We ordered the shaved Brussels sprouts which is my friends favorite, but when it was brought it out it was just shaved Brussels sprouts missing all the toppings that give it flavor. When my friend inquired for the toppings we were told they were out of the toppings (what are they thinking?). The service was a little slow, the rest of the food was mediocre. Just overall very disappointed compared to other Sodel locations. Also not a good look to deny the only minority group (asians) with a baby on Father's Day service because of a stroller. This seafood place was great! My love and I shared the octopus app which was simply drizzled with a reduced balsamic and grilled to perfection. He ordered the seafood stew and opted to add in pasta. The dish did not disappoint. The white wine broth was light and didn't steal the spotlight from the mixture of seafood swimming in the broth.
