They really should start a new yelp page for this restaurant, as my previous review was for the AYCE that used to be located here. Anyway - party of 9 with a reservation. Checked in with the hostess who somewhat struggled with checking us in but we knew the restaurant was on the 3rd floor. We were immediately sat and placed a drink order -- AJ (American college student) was our waiter. He was very attentive at first, but into the end of entree to dessert portion of the experience, the restaurant got busier and he had other tables as well. Anyway - ordered a smoked old-fashioned to start, which comes in a magician's box filled with smoke and is served. Flavor was very good and it was ultra smooth - one of the best OF I've had this year. For starters the table shared beef carpaccio, and a seafood flatbread -- both really good. As a first timer of the carpaccio I can say it was good, and the dressing on the arugula was a nice touch to add to the beef and baguette slices. For my entree I ordered the petit filet Oscar style with a side of brussel sprouts. The steak was cooked medium, but the Oscar style wasn't - it had no bernaise sauce along with the crab and asparagus. Made it really awkward in eating it. For dessert, we shared several amongst the table - bourbon cake, cheesecake, and carrot cake. The carrot cake was very good - large slice and very sweet. The bourbon cake was ok - but the bourbon flavor was drowned out by the berry compote that was on and under it. Would have made more sense to me - to compound the bourbon flavor with a bourbon maple cinnamon reduction. What do I know? The cheesecake was also really good. Overall - this place was great - I believe this is their first season, so if they can keep up the level of execution as with our trip, I can see them being in the conversation with Fagers and Sunset Grill as finer options on the island.

Great restaurant with nice vibe. Offers great views of Pacific Ave strip from its 3rd floor location. I like the upscale decor. Super friendly staff and management. The Management were very active in ensuring food arrived on time and that orders were correct. I ordered a 20oz bone in steak, medium-rare. It was not the right temp, but the restaurant quickly addressed it. The steak had great flavor and was extremely tender. The Manhattan I ordered was great. Bourbon was EH Taylor, but i could not remember which one. I look forward to my next visit. The lobster tail and claws were fantastic. A bit watery on the inside so it was little messy to eat the claws. The desert was spot on. They have a bourbon infused pound cake. Moist, sweet, and perfect for finishing the meal. I look forward to my next visit.

Great servers, Sat at bar for happy hour. Delicious bar menu, food was great. Views of the bay or the kitchen , nice vibes

First of all amazing view! 3rd floor overlooking the bay. Beautifully decorated inside and out. We had steak, sea bass and cioppino. The cioppino was huge! Included a lobster was by far the big hit of the night. Sea bass very flaky served perfect. Steak was fine. We got the Brussels sprouts - waitress told us they would be firm and crunchy and they were- so if you don't like them that way don't get them! Got the lobster Mac as a side came with tons of lobster meat in it- very good!

Crabcakes with Lobster Mac & Cheese and Smashed Potatoes. 6 oz Filet.

Amazing from start to finish. We were greeted with a smile as we walked in at ground level. Sent upstairs where the hostess welcomed us and took us to our table looking over the canal and bay. It was a beautiful setting; the glass blocked the wind and you couldn't hear cars on the Coastal Highway. Our server AJ, a student at Salisbury University, took care of us as if he was a veteran server in the food industry. Attentive every step of the way without being over bearing. The food was out of this world. The filet was grilled to perfection. The crab cakes were no doubt one of the best I have ever had. The cost of the crab cakes $48 may appear a little pricey but it came with two sides. The sides were enough - and they did feed two people. They were more like shareables. The smoked Old Fashioned is an experience if you like them. The drink is delivered in a plexiglass box. The server then opens the box releasing the aroma of the Old Fashioned. I felt the spacing of the seating allowed for everyone to have their own space. You ARE NOT on top of each other. Final note: a family near had a person with a food allergy. The Chef, yes that is correct. The Chef came out to discuss with the person all the options available. Now that is attention to detail. Will definitely be returning. If you want to treat yourself one night when you are on vacation, this is the restaurant to go to.

Went to the new Embers on a Monday night with a 7pm reservation. The service was great, our waitress was friendly and checked in a lot. The view and vibes were great, it's a really beautiful space! The food was hit or miss. Short rib arancini for starters was nice, had great flavor. I ordered an alcohol free butterfly pea tea drink and it was beautiful but not great tasting. My husband had wine and it was wine haha. For mains, my husband got the 10oz filet which he said was really nicely cooked. It came with a small pile of hot pickled peppers and butter. I was surprised there wasn't some sort of side that came with it. I ordered the crab cakes which were fine but burnt on the bottom, I just ate around the burned parts. For dessert with had a blueberry chocolate mousse that was really tasty but served in the weirdest little foil loaf pan. Overall we rated it a 7/10 which is pretty consistent for a restaurant in OC. Really nice for the views but the food was forgettable.

The food was great. Service was excellent. The manager stopped by twice to ensure the experience was good. Crab cakes, filet, s'more's dessert. Fantastic. Thanks for the wonderful memories. We will be back

Good: The hostess was super nice and recommended dishes. The food was great. We were the first to arrive at the restaurant. Bad: The sun kept creeping on us even though we asked for a shaded seat. We were getting overheated and it was super uncomfortable.

We read some of the reviews for this restaurant, and I think most of them are the older buffet style restaurant not the newer upscale restaurant. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. If you're looking for a nice meal, come here. Blu crab house is right below and when they play music in the courtyard, you actually get to hear it up at the restaurant which is also awesome. Come, it's terrific.

    Cheese plate

Service was great- food really good. Large portions. Had the cheese tray to start and it was amazing. I had the pasta with crabmeat - nice. Nice sunset view and pleasant atmosphere.

We have been here several times now. I think we have found one of our favorite places to go in OC. The views are amazing from the 3rd floor, drinks are on point and the food is great! My only suggestion would be to change the name to the restaurant. Each time we come, groups come in looking for the buffet.

Now, 50 years later, Phillips is gone and many establishments advertise their Crabs as the best in OC. Having not been here since 2012, I need to scour the reviews to find where we could get the best take out seafood especially Maryland Crabs. Lo and behold, just steps away from our Courtyard Marriott is the Crab Stop. It's before season so many places are still closed but the Owner answered when I called, had a great sense of humor, and happily took my order for a designated pick up time. We arrived 10 minutes early and they had just completed the order, packed it up, and we were out the door in minutes. This is a Father/Son establishment. Dave (?) the Father is 85 and his son Tom (?) run this fine eatery. It's built for take out and there is no disappointment. We ordered 6 large crabs, 1# of Lump Crab and 2 ears of corn. Within minutes our table was covered with crab, crab shells, Old Bay, and we savored every minute of the delicious fresh sweet crab meat. Look no further than Crab Stop to enjoy the best crabs that OC has to offer and the friendliness and service of these two gentlemen.

I enjoyed two Sazeracs on the rocks for $10 each; unique to Hooked, this iconic New Orleans cocktail is a spirit-forward blend of Elijah Craig rye whiskey, aromatic bitters, a sugar cube, and an absinthe rinse, finished with a bright lemon twist. We also shared the happy hour wood-fired grilled oysters Reggiano with butter, garlic, blackening parmesan cheese, and salt for $19, though they tasted very salty. Additionally, I had the happy hour lobster roll on a toasted buttered brioche roll for $21, substituting the french fries with a side of coleslaw. It tasted quite similar to the lobster roll at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. I finished my meal with a happy hour draft Evo Lot 3 beer for $6. Our bartender, Jon L., served us very well throughout the visit. The total bill was $128 excluding gratuity, which featured a 3% credit card surcharge of $3.57. After applying a $50 gift letter discount, the final bill was reduced down to $81. We all agreed that we will certainly return to visit Jordan and Cowan again.

Not much has changed with the ambiance - bar atmosphere, with each time there being a live music act when we came in to eat. As a party of 10 the last two years (a yearly trip) we were sat in front of the music. Not my favorite place as it's hard to have a conversation but the music was good. We had a younger waiter take care of us - we put in some drinks - I ordered a blackberry bourbon tea. It wasn't very sweet or flavorful. Almost like it was watered down. Meh. We put in several apps to start our meal: crab pierogis, cheesesteak egg rolls and crab dip. The crab pierogis sounded good - but the sauce on them or around them was watery. Another person in our party got the crab corn chowder- it was watery. Chowders are thicker, not thin. The cheesesteak egg rolls were good - had a nice flavor to them. The crab dip was very very flavorful - maybe one of the best on the island I have had. For my meal I ordered the Baltimore bird which is fried chicken topped with crab dip. It was a HUGE piece of chicken and looked great -- then I took a bite. The chick was raw inside. Hoping it was just a part of the breast I bit into another part - middle chicken was pink and raw. What makes matters even worse was the Heinz ketchup bottle on the table - billed as a Pittsburgh bar - did not have Heinz in it. Ketchup was way too sweet - definitely off brand. We shared desserts as a table - the brownie Ala mode and the tower brownie cheesecake. Both were.. well small. Good taste but, limited. Again - just ok overall.

Helpful counter gal helped us make choices as we are BLUE CRAB VIRGINS! We chose 1 1/2 dozen medium to large crabs for two people. Based on other reviews, I also ordered a single crab cake, corn and hush puppies for the man. I asked her to send someone out to demonstrate how to open the crabs, and she said absolutely! After a short (seemed really long) wait sipping Coke and water with our toes in the sand under the paper covered table, our crabs were steamed and brought out. A cheerful young man showed us how to open the crabs and which parts we wanted to remove and discard. Armed with the provided mallet and pick, we went to work. On first smash, husband sprayed me with crab juice, so I donned a charming and attractive plastic bib for the remainder of the meal. Technique improved with practice, but I found it to be a lot of work for a tiny amount of meat. Very flavorful, and improved by dipping in drawn butter and old bay seasoning, my little pile of crab meat was shoveled into my mouth with a fork as no pieces were very large. I made time to try the crab cake and munch on the corn in between wrestling with the blue crabs. Crab cake was not as much crab as filler, although tasty enough, it wasn't the best I have had. The corn was stellar, not mushy or overcooked. His hush puppies were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. A generous serving, we took half home for the air fryer. We devoured every last bite of the crab though! A real treat occurred when we were nearly finished with our meal, the owner Rob came out to chat. Fascinated by his slip trip and fall prevention device, we had a long conversation about his inventions and marketing them. He shared his business card and even demonstrated the wet floor verbal indicator. Husband really enjoyed meeting him and talking (engineer to engineer). It made the day!

We ordered the seafood combo that included six hard-shell crabs, three pounds of snow crab legs, a half-pound of shrimp, corn, and hush puppies. The hard-shell crabs were decent, although they seemed slightly oversteamed. The meat in the legs was practically fused to the shell, making them difficult to eat. The snow crab legs were good, but the shrimp were noticeably undercooked, which made peeling them nearly impossible. There were a few bright spots. The beer was reasonably priced at $4.50 a pint, and the hush puppies were excellent--arguably the best part of the entire meal. The corn, however, was tough and seemed past its prime. For the roughly $145 we spent on the combo, I expected a better overall dining experience. Sadly, this seems to be the standard at many seafood restaurants these days: higher prices without a corresponding increase in quality. And while it's a minor issue compared to the food, the deck seating chairs were surprisingly uncomfortable and felt out of place for a restaurant charging these prices. Overall, the meal wasn't terrible, but it fell well short of expectations given the cost.

They honestly had something for everyone. Pricing was on point for it being a hotel, on the beach etc. It was to be expected. There is a comp for staying at the hotel, which helps off set the cost. My waitress was fantastic. She was hustling and taking care of all the things. She had someone help run food which I'm sure was helpful. Only downside for me was a family behind me sitting had a dog and I could smell it. Not sure if it was a service animal or not. But, yeah just something I noticed. I will definitely come back. I enjoyed my food, and the ambiance.
