Came back again before going to the Claremont Farmers Market this morning and bought some baked goods. Maybe it's because I got here so early but everything was sooo good! My citrus scone was delicious unlike the dry brittle scone I got from here last visit. They have a pumpkin danish today and it's got pumpkin purée in it, it's like eating pumpkin pie - yummy! I purchased a gluten free citrus scone for my son and it's remarkably good as well. They use Pamela's GF flour so it's nut free also (no almond flour). Yay! Delicious Sandwich and a very easy atmosphere! Came over to a early quick breakfast with my friend to this lovely small but very cute bakery with also a sandwiches maker area. Not much seating available but worth the wait for a seat the smell do coffee and fresh bake bread was very good. Service was fast and very friendly. Loved this bakery! I had the opportunity to work in Claremont for 6 months & was so happy because I was in close proximity to this delicious bakery! Thee cookies are absolutely the best and I recently ordered a custom carrot cake for my dads birthday and was a total hit with my parents! Located in the heart of downtown Claremont, you have so much going on around you it was worth the 40 minute drive I would take from my city of Montebello! They have 2 parts but i've only tried out the bakery items as well as the occasional coffee, if you're ever in the area you must stop by, every time I would bring some home or to my friends house they absolutely loved all the baked goods! read more

I love Some Crust. It's a staple of living in the area. The staff is super nice and work to be as efficient as possible even when someone is ordering a huge box of assorted stuff, another person is ordering a cake with very specific requirements, and the rest of us are trying to peek at the case to see what's left. My faves? Salted caramel and oatmeal chocolate if you're into the sweet. If you're into the savory, the spinach feta and cheese croissant is yummy. For coffee? I usually get and iced latte with oat milk and hazelnut. When the staff remembers the drink, that's just extra star status. The pastries have never been a miss for me, so that just speaks to amazing consistency. Be patient if the line spills into the sidewalk, and if they run out of whatever you were looking for, try calling first or coming earlier. It doesn't help complaining to someone who really can't do anything for you because you came for something your son wanted you to get at 2PM. Popular stuff goes fast. I've missed out on my beloved oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies lots of times, but I've also won out and tried oatmeal butterscotch. Give Some Crust support and love. Oh and their sliders are bomb. They're great with a cold brew in the morning. If you're out of town, it's worth the trip. I used to come out here when I lived in Pasadena and would meet up with friends. Last weekend I was at the Wells Fargo (WF) Bank in Claremont. There was a lady standing in front of me and she was holding a box of what appears to be sweets of some kind. I asked her what was in the box. She said cookies from Some Crust Bakery. She worked there actually. She was just delivering sweet treats for the WF staff which is very nice of the bakery. The cookies looked yummy so I asked her where this bakery was located and she said just down the block. So I headed over to the bakery after my WF visit. It was my first time at this bakery. There were about 8 people in front of me... I probably waited for about 20 mins or so. I hear they get really busy and the line gets really long. I went cookie happy and bought 6 cookies of 5 different kinds (Snickerdoodle, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, and Milk Chocolate Caramel), and 1 cookie of 2 other kinds (Oatmeal Chocolate and Butterball (no, it's not the turkey LOL)... so yeah, I got 32 cookies LOL. Now I didn't even ask how much were the cookies until after they charged me for the cookies. Guess what my bill came up to be... $80.00 LOL. You read and calculated right... $2.50 per cookie. They were big cookies though. My #1 favorite was the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut (sublime!... not too sweet... I love it!) and #2 favorite is the Oatmeal Raisin (delish!... not your traditional oatmeal raisin) and # 3 favorite is the Snickerdoodle (wonderful!, but could have been softer... it was a crunchy one LOL). The Peanut Butter Chocolate was good, too, but a tad sweet IMHO. For the other cookies, I didn't care much for them. I will definitely be back for more delicious baked goods. Everything tasted so fresh, especially the rosemary bread which paired so well with the other ingredients. I like the cold brew coffee I got the 1st time I tried this bakery. They also give you stamp cards~I meant earlier a stamp card to receive a stamp on each drink you purchase....I general like using stamp cards, but the only thing is you have to watch out about losing them easily too..... This bakery is within walking distance from my work in Claremont but I don't get an hour lunch so would only be able to visit them if I arrive at work slightly earlier for my AM coffee fix which I will prolly likely need again soon. The decorations on the cake was amazing. The service was also good. The only reason why I'm giving 2 stars is because the smash cake we ordered looked like it was separating from the bread?? It looked so weird, it was buttercream so you'd think it would melt but nope, there was a little section where it almost looked like it bubbled up. That wasn't even the part that upset me though. The cake literally crumbled as the knife with through. At first I thought I wasn't cutting it right. Then 4 other people tried! We discovered the cake was frozen. The buttercream was completely hard and shattered no matter how it was cut. The cake pieces were not soft at all. Pick up was at 11am and we didn't cut the cake until 3pm. I'm not sure if they fridge it was kept in was too cold or what. I was soooo disappointed. The flavor was decent but also had a plain taste because it was so frozen(or kept too cold). Everyone was asking me why the cake was in pieces and I had to explain that it wasn't how it was being cut. Overall, I'm pretty dissatisfied with the cake itself especially after spending 200 something dollars. Hardly anyone ate the cake, it was just sitting on their plates. Im not sure if they didn't take it out of the fridge in time or what. But even 4 hours after pick up it was still frozen inside. It wasn't buttery and creamy as it should've been. I came here for the first time last weekend (Monday, January 20) to browse and order pastries for a small lunch my family and I were hosting for my cousin and my cousin's new spouse. Staff was very nice and helpful in answering my questions about the different items on display, and I bought a half dozen cupcakes (turtle, s'mores, mostess, salty caramel, and another one I can't recall) and a half dozen cookies (peanut butter chocolate, chocolate butterball, milk chocolate, salty caramel). We still have a few leftover, but they've been all very delicious, and I would definitely come back here again, especially if one my gluten-free friends in town. One thing to note: I had checked their website for the cupcake flavors, and I called the shop beforehand to inquire about what was actually available. I absolutely loved my birthday cake design wise, it looked great! However I am disappointed about how sweet it was and the overall flavor of the cake. I even asked the worker if it was too sweet and she said it wasn't too sweet and that many people order it. I opted to try it because it was something new and it was my 21st birthday so it fit the theme. The pink champagne flavor didn't really come through, it was just sweet on sweet and I could only taste the strawberry filling. I introduced friends & family to this place since I would vouch for their delicious pastries & egg sliders. Lately, their quality of food has been declining. I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Today's experience was very disappointing. I waited nearly 40mins for egg sliders. If I would have known about the wait I wouldn't have placed the order. I kept on telling myself "okay, it's worth it". I brought $40 worth of sliders home. They forgot the main ingredient, garlic aioli. These sliders can't stand alone without the sauce. They tasted so bland and dry. I never realized that the sauce made the sandwich and without it, it just basic bread, dried egg and spinach. I got other pastries too, so that my family could enjoy a nice brunch. Whoever made the bear claws is definitely skipping portion. Overall, I feel yipped. I left paying $65 for food that I'm embarrassed to give to my family. I'm definitely planning on taking a break from this place & take my business to Crème. We were FINALLY able to have our dream wedding/reception with family and friends (following a 1/1/21 elopement) after COVID caused our venue to cancel on us twice in the past 12 months. Date #3 was 7/18/21 at Vellano Estate in Chino Hills and it was perfect! The bakery called a few days before and confirmed all the details again of our cake. We had around 80 guests so we had a 3-tier cake. The bottom tier was red velvet, middle was chocolate ganache with raspberry, and top was pink champagne. Us and our guests loved all 3! I'm a big frosting person, so I especially liked that part. It was the perfect amount of fluffy and sweet without being too sweet. The cake was moist and absolutely delicious. Although the top tier was saved for us, this place offers a personal sized cake on your one year anniversary so you don't have to dig out a crusty freezer burned cake top and act like you enjoyed it to celebrate your one year wedding anniversary lol. The design of the cake came out exactly as we envisioned it and fit right in with our boho chic theme.
