Weird watery salsa was a big issue today at this location. It was not a normal salsa and my receipt had a different burrito than what I ordered. Will pass on this location.

This was my first time trying Someburros, and I visited during my birthday week after receiving a $10 voucher in the app (such a nice perk!). I ordered the Carne Asada Burro--while it was good, it was a bit smaller than I expected, especially when comparing it to similar burritos at places like Café Rio or Nando's. Flavor-wise, it was decent, but not something I'd crave again. I'd probably try a different item next time. I was hoping it would automatically come with a scoop of refried beans. That said, the experience overall was pleasant. The restaurant was clean, there was plenty of seating, and there's even a drive-thru for convenience. The staff was friendly and patient while I asked questions about the menu, which I appreciated.

If you are a native of the Valley like me, then you grew up eating at Poncho's Mexican Food. I remember fighting with my siblings over that basket of sopapillas. The Vasquez family (longtime owners of Poncho's) opened the first Someburro's in 1986. We have several of these family-owned, fast-casual restaurants all over the Valley. They specifically cater to young families on a budget. I frequent Someburros quite often because I love their hot sauce. I put it on everything and usually get a pint of it to go whenever I stop in. Someburro's menu consists of traditional Mexican food made from family recipes from Sonora, Mexico. Their signature Pollo Fundido is my personal favorite. Another favorite of mine is the Albondigas Soup that is served in the Fall. In addition to food, they have horchata, alcohol and churros. They keep a calendar on the wall that highlights food specials and Valley events. Taco Tuesdays, Cinco de Mayo and ASU football games are big celebration days at Someburros with special discounts on selected items. If you are hosting a big party, Someburro's caters large platters of party-sized portions of their popular items. They also serve breakfast. This was my first visit to this location in Mesa off the North 202 freeway. I met a friend here and we had a nice dinner together. It is a nice, clean restaurant and has a drive-thru. If you want good Mexican food made quick, Someburros is always an easy choice.

Some Burros has the best breakfast burritos! I got the machaca beef, egg, and potato burrito-packed with flavor and super satisfying. The hot sauce has the right amount of spice, with a kick. The 20oz cold brew with horchata was so good, I didn't even need to add any sugar or syrup.

The parking lot outside was parking so we thought we may have to wait, but inside was not busy yet and we were seated immediately. I ordered the smoked chicken enchilada as I saw it was a Yelp favorite and it was delicious. I ended up taking half of it home since we all filled up on chips and salsa before our meal. This restaurant is decorated so cutely. I love how there is a Baja influence with all the surf boards but also southwest appeal. There is plenty of seating and tables for big groups. The restaurant is clean, the seating area is comfortable, and they have an extensive menu with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The portion of chicken was generous, and the enchiladas had the perfect level of spice--not too mild and not overpowering. I had the birria quesadilla tacos, and they were absolutely stunning! Now, he proposed that I order from Chipotle instead since they fail to give customer what one paid for. Update #3: The owner still going back and forth with me and now claiming I did not pay for the burritos. Not really sure what he means by that. Decent amount of food, although the chicken and carne were both a bit dry. I enjoyed the beans and rice, and the additional accouterments. Overall, good flavor and seasonings, just dry protein. Not sure if that would change on a busier day if fresh food was being pumped out, but would be open to checking this place out again!
