This place is clean and the people are nice however the hair quality and work Shanise did on me was horrible. My extensions came out 2 days after I had to go back in to fix them. After that they only lasted another 9 days I'm so tired of this that I haven't called back. I took them completely out and I'm back to square one! I wish I could get my money back! Shanaye has been my stylist since March (I've only lived in Cali since December of 2014) Every time I come here, the staff is very friendly. The customer service is amazing. Any questions or concerns, they always educate you on how you can maintain your hair. I've always seen people leave happy...I ALWAYS LEAVE HAPPY lol. They are well versed in multi cultural hair and actually listen to what you want and execute the best way possible to secure the integrity of the clients hair. I moved here from Virginia two months ago and was looking to get a trim because I haven't had one since May. I called this salon this morning and I told whom I assume was the receptionist that I would like to make an appointment for this coming Saturday to get my hair trimmed. She then asked me "What's your hair texture?" and "What's your hair length?" I gave that information along with my name and number. She said "once the stylist who is best fit to do your hair gets in she will call you". I don't know maybe they do things differently here in California, but in Virginia all I would have to do is call tell the receptionist what I wanted and when I wanted to come and thats it. Cutting hair is a skill it shouldn't be about hair texture and who's best fit to cut my hair. I've had a white woman cut my black hair and I've also had other women of different races cut my hair. Everyone in the salon should know how to cut all types of hair. I also never received a call back. Yeah I won't be giving them my money read more

I was really satisfied with how my stylist Neesha retwisted my dreds. Although I have been growing my hair for over seven years i had not ever had it done professionally. From the wash in the beginning to the finish product there was never a moment in my mind that maybe I had made a mistake. The stylist provided good conversation, was very professional, and quick and confident with her technique. I don't really take the time out to do reviews, I always forget, but not this time. so the way that I found simplicity hair studio, was by google. I called the salon and spoke w/ a person's name that start with an 's', I told her the type of hair style that I wanted, and she said that she could do it. appointment Monday @ 1:30 3/18/13 with so the day of my hair appointment I get a text from 's' asking me, if it was ok to come in an hours early, then what we schedule a week before, I texted her back with" no problem" .so I get to the salon on time, and I am greeted by 'S' , and she tells me that all she needed to do was curl the customer hair that 's before me, and it'll take a few minutes. so after I wanted a whole hour( which crosses out me coming in an hour early, like she asked me to do via texted) later. it's finally my turn, and she immediately begins to tell me that, the reason I waited a whole extra hour was because the customer before me wanted her braids, curled a certain way and 's' just didn't wanted to do it that way, ( now keep in mind I could hear her customer making some remarks to how she didn't like the way the curls were looking) so this customer didn't leave until she was happy with here hair, which took a whole damn hour to fix!!! After all that she starts on my kinky twits, and ask me to check the length, to see if it was fine, so when i looked I realize that she wasn't doing my hair the way I like it, I asked her, is this the right way to do the hair style ,she reply with yes, but the hair I brought isn't right, so that way it's coming out like this( the four twits that she did looked knotted and lose, like my 8 yr old nephew did them). I then told her that I gotten my hair done before and I use the same hair, and it wasn't a problem. I then showed her the way the stylist did my hair before , and she realize a big different, so she begins to start to do the style I ask for all over a gain, then out of no where,she tells me, no I can't do it, I don't have the patients to do it. she tells me to go to the store and exchange the hair for what she was use to, but one pack was already open. so I was already upset that I came in an hour early and had to wait the whole extra hour in the waiting area, and then when it was finally my turn, I had to hear the poor excuse of how the customer before me wanted her hair curl a certain way.on top of that she doesn't even do the first couple of twist even right, she then tells me she just don't have the patients to do it the right was, after I had patients and waited an hours on you to finish doing the customers hair before me. so I wasted the trip to go there and then drive back home. so that's my story people never had a styles tell me that she wasn't going to work on my head. so pissed do go there. I really wanted to speak to the owner. and tell her but there wasn't anyone there to speak to, I bet if there was Shanaye would have did my hair right, or the own ,out of customer service , maybe would help with someone else. read more
