My wife and I went here on christmas eve and it is now our favorite sushi spot. Our server was very nice and took great care of us. There are so many great sushi rolls to choose from. We ordered 5 or 6 and couldnt decide on a favorite because they were all perfect. We came back a few nights later because my mom was in visiting and she loves sushi. She was as happy with this place as we were. If you havent been here yet you need to try it. It is very small inside so it probably fills up quickly but it would be worth the wait read more

I had low expectation on this restaurant. However, my friend recommended the Korean spicy ramen and the katsu. So after getting my regular haircut with my favorite Korean hair dresser several doors down the strip, I tried their Katsu curry. The portion was generous and the katsu was crispy and tasty. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. read more

Very nice rolls and quick service. Quality of all fish was high and the signature rolls were creative and flavorful without overpowering the dish itself. Shumai was excellent and prices appropriate. I got take out so I can't speak to the dining experience, but I'll try that next time! read more

I have to rave about this place. My husband works for a pest control company and he actually services this restaurant. He sees the good, the bad and the ugly of these places, but Somi Sushi was super clean and nice both in the front of the shop as well as in the kitchen. And the sushi was absolutely amazing! We will be eating here on a regular basis!!! -Patience read more

Found it on yelp and we were really impressed with the food. Tried the calamari, hamachi kama, takoyaki , tonkatsu ramen and chicken katsu. All of them tasted really good. Hamachi Kama was the star of all. Service is good as well. We didn't try the sushi, may be next time Highly recommended read more

Food is awesome tasting when eaten onsite, but when taken home the food is just ok, most of the hot food is soggy and cold, sushi rolls as squished together like a burrito, there is a presentation aspect to sushi, I'll change this to a 5 star once they Re open and I can eat onsite like every other restaurant in mecklenburg or the state of NC read more

My friends and I were looking for sushi can stumbled upon Somi Sushi - and were all glad we did. The food was fresh and the sushi was some of the best my sushi-connoisseur friend had. We live 45 minutes from this place, and we plan on returning frequently. The bento boxes are a great value for a reasonable price. Would recommend for sure! read more

Favorite Sushi in Matthews, they have a great variety at good prices. Their Bento boxes are huge! Great atmosphere and great service.

I've driven past this place so many times and haven't thought anything of it. I was craving sushi today and decided to just go ahead and try it. So so good . . . I placed an online order, and got it in 15 minutes. Sushi is fresh, flavorful, reasonably priced (rolls range from around $6-$14) and presentation is beautiful. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu in the future. read more

I eat ramen everywhere it's served and hands down this is the best in south Charlotte. Tonkotsu is by far the best and they're the only place I've seen cook the eggs correctly. Don't sleep on this place - the sushi is great too! read more

In these days where take out is essential. We ordered online with the quote that it would be ready for pickup in 20 minutes. When we arrived the staff told us it would be an hour and were quite rude. Based on customer service alone, would not recommend. read more

This is probably my favorite sushi place! I came in Saturday night 9/29 and our server (white girl with dark hair. Feel horrible I forgot her name) but she was amazing! Approached the table with positive energy and was more than welcome to help with anything! She provided great sushi suggestions to me and my husband. He ended up getting the sushi combo bento box and he LOVED! They are almost a large portion. And I had the Somi Roll and the new 485 Roll. Both AMAZING!! Definitely coming back with our friends and family! Thank y'all for providing us the best date night we have had in a long time! Hard to get out when you have 5 kids at home but it was 100% worth it read more

After 20-25 visits, we are still completely hooked. Sushi is consistently top quality, and they have a variety of cooked foods as well. Cooked meats, noodles, soups, and great tempura. Portions are generous and staff are always friendly. We can't get enough...keep up the great work, Somi Sushi. We love having you in our neighborhood! read more
