This is a great place to grab some dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth. The soft serve flavors that they offered were oreo, ube, matcha, milk, oreo/ube swirl, or matcha/milk swirl. I tried the oreo/ube swirl in a cup, and it did not disappoint! The flavors were perfect together and not too crazy strong. I also liked that there was not an extra charge for toppings. I got fruity pebbles, cocoa pebbles, and sprinkles as my toppings! I also got the taiyaki with red bean on the side. They make it freshly right there, so it's all warm and slightly crispy, which was sooooo delicious. I definitely recommend eating it with the soft serve together if you're a fan of mixing hot/cold desserts together, like me. read more

This cute spot in the Ranch 99 area is a clear favorite with a large number of people for a very good reason...delicious ice cream paired with freshly made "waffles". The flavors do rotate quick often, and you can either buy the ice cream separately, as a float, or just the taiyaki themselves (filled with your choice of a filling). Each ice cream flavor I've tried so far has been super creamy and not overly sweet, a nice pairing to the warm, chewy and soft waffle that they are paired with. Honestly, a great price, great flavor and amazing textures...how can you possibly go wrong? Rush here as soon as you can. read more

It is veryyy crowded (for what reason I have no idea). People are packed tightly together waiting for ice cream. Even with a full staff service is slow. The ice cream is not good (too much air to make it fluffy). Definitely not worth the extreme wait times. The pastries have a weird after taste. Go to Cocohodo instead (similar concept but better) . Cocohodo has better quality ingredients, more dessert variety & cheaper pricing. read more

We love this spot. I always have to go for an upside down ahboong swirl & take a variety box of taiyaki home! In the beginning I wasn't sure how I felt about them changing their menu every Friday. Now that we've visited quite a bit.. I'm glad they change things up! Filling choices for the taiyaki do not change as often, but they did add an oreo option recently. Apparently, the cashier thinks (I assume management also) you are only Covid contagious BEFORE you place an order. The cashier asks me to put on a mask. I point to him that there are a bunch of people massless standing around. He says those people ordered already. So I assume once you've ordered, and they get your money, you are no longer contagious and can take off your mask. Ahhh...that makes total sense now. What was I thinking???? Taking my business else where. Cocohodo across the street sells the same thing. Maybe they're not as covid enlightened as this place. read more

A popular Asian dessert spot. The line moves pretty fast as they have self-ordering machines. I didn't really like the matcha soft serve, but definitely enjoyed the taiyaki! SomiSomi is such a fun place to stop for a sweet treat! They offer Taiyaki and soft serve. We got a strawberry soft serve. They offer a great variety of fillings, but we didn't add one this time. If ordering ice cream they have a variety of toppings including sprinkles, Oreos, fruit pebbles, and more! You also get the option of adding either a strawberry or macaron. They do require masks in store, but they have some there if you forget to bring one. Even during the busy weekend, the line moves fairly quickly without much wait. read more

I can't say how much I love this little shopping center of eats and treats...seriously, close your eyes and pick a place! That's exactly what we did when we picked SomiSomi to try. We had eaten lunch at a restaurant in this shopping strip and, of course, "needed something sweet." LOL There was a nice line for SomiSomi so we knew we stumbled upon something worthwhile. Because it's hot and in Texas we don't stand and wait around in the heat for anything that isn't good! SomiSomi has two options soft serve or a fish shaped, goodness stuffed....waffle, if you will. It's called a taiyaki but if you get it with ice cream it's an ah-boong but don't ask me how to pronounce it. I know, sounds weird, roll with me here people. So you can get the taiyaki by itself with your choice of filling. Their choices of fillings were ube, oreo, matcha and I feel like I'm forgetting some. You can get one or a two pack. I chose the two pack and tried the ube and oreo fillings. I watched how they make it, they pour the mix into the waffle press, add a scoop of the filling and then pour some more mix on top and close the waffle press - viola! Taiyaki! LOL! I also tried just a cup of soft serve, they have several flavors to choose from here as well - and you can get the soft serve inside of a taiyaki, which then makes it an ah-boong...or you can get the soft serve in a cup or in a cup with an taiyaki on top. Don't ask, again, roll with it. Since I was getting two taiyaki already, I decided to just go with the soft serve in a cup. Your flavor choices for soft serve are matcha, milk, cookies and cream, ube and black sesame. I went with oldie but goodie cookies and cream. To my surprise there are also toppings/sprinkles you can add to your soft serve at the end. I went with oreo/cookie to add to the yummy goodness of cookies and cream soft serve. Alright, so the soft serve - A1. So good. I ate it all. ALL. The taiyaki...well...it's a no for me. I don't know if they didn't cook it long enough but the inside was very doughy and chewy - not sure if that's how it's supposed to be but it did not make for a good first encounter. When you think of a waffle, you think, crisp, crunch, yummy goodness. This was not that and I did not enjoy eating it. The fillings were good, I really liked the ube taste, very sweet but subtle at the same time....and you can never go wrong with oreo. Would we go back here? Probably not, the wait and line is really not worth it in my opinion! read more

Great service and quality desserts. Love that they have the twists so you can try two flavors! Tried cookies n cream, matcha, ube - all creamy and tasty. The waffle fish totally does it. It's not as crisp as a waffle cone, it's soft and crisp finish just how a waffle should be. So many fillings. I wish I got some stuffed waffles on the side but I only got it with the ice cream. This place had a line when we walked in, but it moves super fast! The taiyaki was super fresh (you can see them being cooked behind the glass) and offer rotating ice cream flavors. They required masks. They rudely turned us away because we didn't have them. People take off their masks to eat so requiring them to order is asinine. I doubt the virus disappears if you're holding an ice-cream cup. We didn't need masks when visiting there in the past but needless to say they will not have our business in the future. We both ordered the mango slushy with chewy boba. We loved it! It didn't taste too sweet and was very fresh. Chewy boba was also great. We got our order pretty quickly and our cashier and server were very nice. Would def come back and try other options on the menu!

There was no more big TV and that side of wall was just plain yellow - so boring. Strawberry bingsoo also didn't look like the ones posted here by other Yelpers. It was pretty pricey at $15.99 and looked smaller than the pics posted here on Yelp, but prettier. I didnt take pics so couldn't post it here. Just interesting how in a few months things changed

All employees are so caring and professional and gave me a recommendation on what I need to try on their menu. I got the affogato - espresso and vanilla ice cream combined together, yummy ! They have free Wi-Fi which makes it easy for me to work and hang out with co-workers. Will be back with more of my friends.
